I found the answer to my issue. I disabled Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows graphics settings. I don't have to sell my Vive just yet.

Hello HTC pro tribe. I have the Vive Pro 1. But lately it's impossible to fly with. The image lag is horrendous. Is not FPS drop, as I dropped my setting to minimum. Is it time to ditch this headset and move on to a more modern one?

DCS disk space / compression questions

I am also have storage issues. Haven't been able to play since the penultimate update. I'd love hear about affordable external HD recommendations. -

Now that ED has new terrain tech, that speeds things up (as Wags said), they should retouch their maps, starting with Caucasus. And expand it all the way to northern Turkey and southern Ukraine. The whole black sea coast

Wow Syria. I guess that's not a surprise. I expect Kola to catch up within a year. If Afganistan doesn't perform as well as expected.

Is there a script to make the AI aircraft pull back from their gate? Or park close to the boarding bridges? I am adding more airline textures to populate my maps and give them more life. I know there's one script to make flight plans

Thank Gawd Massun assets made it in. I assume the animated Crew Chiefs will come later

Beauty or functionality? or both? Which map keeps you flying? I hope this poll can be updated with future maps. Even if you don't own them all. (Updated with latest maps)

Thanks for my WIP Viper Driver. It was looong due.

If they're working on the World map, what's the point on keep developing the flat earth ones? Income stream i guess?. Those maps are going to become obsolete once the earth is released... In 2095 Or maybe they're for helo/vehicle users who need better fidelity? Because the whole Earth is going to be lower res?. But new customers don't know that. I have noticed between the flight sim Community, that there is a hardcore group that would care less if they were given a flat untextured map just so they can fly and blow things up because what's important is in the cockpit. If we had followed that reasoning we'd still have 90s graphics. And no new users.

*raise hand (I don't think my rig can take it. Might need a new PC)

Will it be possible to release more standard terrain assets so we can create more variety without having to rely too much on other people's asset packs? Such as, flat concrete, Runways, roads, railways, trees. I'd like to populate some empty areas of the map and I can't add a road or a flat concrete surface at the moment.

Thanks so much for this. It works like a charm. I never liked those washed-out Syria textures.

That's right. It'll be so cool to fly around the world (as is possible now with 2 major sims) and enter an area back in time to play a specific scenario in history. And if ED is not currently working on a spherical world map, I doubt they'll have many customers left in 10 years' time. (I'm probably wrong about that :)) The tech to facilitate the development is already here. Personally, I don't want to wait another decade to see if this becomes a reality. Life is too short. And the next generations will demand it.

I'd like to say it's turning out to be a good map. Good job. My question would be, are you going to include all Israeli-Egyptian-South Lebanese? and Civilian airports? with their country flags? Or do we need to go back to our Syria map to fly the missing bases..

Sounds awesome. I quite like the helmet view for the Apache pilot in VR. Hopefully the Viper Driver can get something similar.

Breathtaking. I explored that part on MSFS2020 and it was stunning. These guys are setting a new standard for DCS.

Marianas is mostly water. What DCS needs is Vulcan. Yesterday

Ugra has created a monster of a map. I wonder how long it will take to fly ay 400 knts from one corner to the other.

It's going to be a miserable life then

Joining this thread in desperation. I have a Vive Pro 1. After Win11 install, I got stuttering, but then disabled HAGS and the stuttering stopped, but the clouds remain awful. Very jagged as you can see on the image. I tried all the resolutions and none worked. Anyone else with this problem who could give me a clue? This didn't happen on Win10, and I had them on high setting. My Rig: i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz/ RAM 32.0 GB/ running DCS from external SSD

Bump. The way I see it is that we should have the option to fly anywhere in the world, because there's enough satellite and topography data already available, and then develop a theatre pack of an area of interest. Seems logical to me. If we fly outside the area, we won't have anymore stuff to blow up, but the map will continue. Why reinvent the wheel when when we already have the entire planet mapped out? imagine the possibilities. Outsource the base terrain. Users could setup a mission anywhere in the planet. And all that data will be on the cloud. Saving us tons of storage. I know; sounds like Microsoft Combat Simulator already. But Goggle is better for maps.
