  1. From my understanding, you weren't a Longbow unless you had the FCR. Otherwise, you're just an Apache
  2. Where might I find these screenshots? Thanks
  3. Ok if it's in EA where do I DL it?
  4. Incoming Fast Mover!!!!
  5. Been away awhile and so disappointed over the time it took to complete Hornet. All I had ever wanted from ED was to do Longbow. I was raised on Jane's Apache Longbow along with about every other Jane's sims of the day along with Falcon 3 & 4, various Novalogic sims, Microprose (F-15 Strike Eagle) and anything else that came along. But I had this dream that maybe, just maybe ED could put into detail and realism into a platform that had been my favorite for at least thirty years. And that was the AH-65D Longbow. Now I can die because the last bucket list item has now been checked...The "Nap O' the Earth" stealth attack chopper is no longer a dream. It's about to become reality. Complete with Fire Bottles and Autorotational landings. I'm in heaven. :)
  6. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
  7. Ok. Just looking at the top ten "things to be delivered", I saw the ER version at the bottom. My bad.
  8. Really? I found this. Check the middle of the paragraph about the "New Planar Wings". What did I miss here? They do seem to be talking about the SLAM-ER version. "Description: SLAM-Expanded Response (ER) is Naval Aviation's follow-on to the SLAM Stand-off Outside Area Defense (SOAD) weapon. It is a day/night, adverse-weather, precision-strike weapon with over-the-horizon range. SLAM is based on the highly successful and reliable Harpoon anti-ship missile, with a Global Positioning System-aided Inertial Navigation System (GPS/INS) for mid-course guidance, and a Maverick Imaging Infrared sensor and a Walleye data link for precise, "man-in-the-loop" terminal guidance. SLAM-ER, an evolutionary upgrade of SLAM, provides the Navy and Marine Corps with a major improvement in precision strike capability. A modified Tomahawk warhead improves lethality and penetration. New planar wings double the range and allow terrain-following flight. Mission planning time has been reduced to less than 30 minutes, and targeting has been improved via a "freeze frame" command that reduces pilot workload. SLAM-ER+ will also incorporate Automatic Target Acquisition (ATA), making it an autonomous weapon and enhancing the missile's capability against small targets and targets in urban environments. ATA uses a matching algorithm to recognize both the aimpoint as well as the surrounding scene, reducing the requirement for manual pilot intervention via a data link. Program Status: SLAM Initial Operational Capability (IOC) was in 1991. Procurements of SLAM have been 75 units each in FY 1994 and 1995. SLAM-ER has successfully completed developmental testing (with five-of-five successful missions), and has begun operational testing; IOC is planned for FY 1998. SLAM-ER+ will enter production in the fourth quarter FY 1998. Developer/Manufacturer: Boeing, St. Louis, Missouri.
  9. Wow, these are really nice
  10. Yeah, they had trouble tailing them because they couldn't fly as slow. Then when they started to strafe the boat.... Kirk Douglas: Splash the Zeros !
  11. This is not ED working on it.
  12. Yeah it's the 27mm Mauser
  13. HAH, but ED's not making it!!! So maybe only two years
  14. ABSOLUTELY, I'm going nuts here thinking about this platform. AND THIS WAS 25 years ago!!!...Why do I think this had a rearward firing sidewinder capability? And that MIDI sounding background music...HAHA
  15. ABSOLUTELY...I remember those days too. I cannot wait!!!!
  16. The delta wing with canards Eurofighter. WOW!! One of my all-time favorites from decades ago. Digital Image Designs IIRC made Eurofighter 2000 and I still have it. Besides the AH-64D Apache Longbow, the Eurofighter is one of my old-time favorites I simply cannot wait for this. BRAVO
  17. I still have both modules listed as "Installed" and I don't have FC3
  18. And what year would that be?
  19. Not just the Apache. It has to be the AH-64D Longbow or none at all...don't want the watered-down version
  20. I agree with this. Yeah, I don't expect the so-called "finished version" to be just that. There will be tweaks and bug squashing. But I don't expect EA to be a bucket-list item for a particular module. If you can't get it out 90% finished within a year, forget it. Don't hype it and promise anything. Offer it to your most dedicated. I'm sure they'll swallow it for ya. But do the advertising for the "all intents purposes finished" module
  21. Agreed...over and over...really it's sad and indicative of the organization
  22. I said this a while back. I will never again buy an unfinished product from ED.
  23. Yeah, at first I thought it was a real WH coming in for a landing, but then I heard the 30mm cannon and thought it was using a practice range. I was floored when I saw that was the actual RC scale model...beautiful detail
