Air Force Reluctantly Upgrades A-10s After Congress Complains
Krunkskimo replied to SharpeXB's topic in Military and Aviation
cutting platforms means cutting jobs in these guys districts so you're hard pressed to retire anything these days. on a separate note, when will these upgrades be implemented into DCS -D -
How to freelook + clickable switches?
Krunkskimo replied to stray cat's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
never understood why they never supported this, accidental feature. i played for years before eventually getting TIR and hotas. great alternative for people jumping from fc3 to other products in my opinion. -
Confused by (Saitek) Rudder Pedals
Krunkskimo replied to doveman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
felt like everything was backwards for me too. When you use twist rudders on the stick the right goes out and the left goes in to turn left and on rudders its the opposite so it feels wrong. i thought about inverting my rudders but my chair is a roller so i cant even use the rudders anyways without sliding allover the place. -
so this is why i couldnt figure it out

some sort of flight control officer position for carriers who manages landing and launching of player/AI aircraft.
-
I would recommend learning the aircraft before investing in a HOTAS and TIR. I've played Blackshark and A-10 for quite awhile with just a basic Saitek AV-8R joystick and mouse for vision. ive only recently upgraded to rudders, x-52 pro and track IR and while it does make the game much easier enjoyable it's not necessary to learn the aircraft. You dont have to dedicate your time solely to DCS to learn an aircraft either. The time it takes just depends on the pace you set so dont think you have to burn yourself out on the game to learn it. Just understand its a complicated system and the reward is reaped in weeks and months not hours and days like other games. I saved the boring stuff to last when i began. I started with weapons systems, how to use each one effectively, moved on to navigation, and just learned every console and system one by one, saving start-up for a day i was feeling particularly motivated.

Best to practice as often as possible. As soon as you get comfortable with the stick, curves, and how the a-10 handles it will all be second nature.

Actually to turn DCS:A-10C afterbuner it's Alt+F4

Steam likes to give you things to give away and I figured this would be the place to unload it. I have 2 coupons for 75% off Total War Shogun 2 1 DOTA 2 key and 1 ARMA 3 lite (a non-multiplayer demo) key If anyone wants any of these contact me on steam |1MC|Easy
-
I like the idea of multiplayer but the interactions im sim city are limited to a 5th grade level activities. there's no need to speicalize as anything as all cities magiclly get their work, leisure, resources ect from neighboring citites regarldess if they have real actual jobs available or not. Unless your specialization is utilities then what you do does really matter.

I'm never buying another EA title while their business model is to rip everyone off. They want you to fork over 100 dolalrs for "BF3 platnum" which DLC just adds a few maps and vehicles. If you want any meaningful content you have to buy MOH or BF4. Dont expect your game to be playable in 4-5 years either. Due to their DRM once they shut down their servers they brick your game. When i see shit like $400 dollars for all EA's DLC for The Sims, games like 1943 on my xbox i paid for that i can no longer play, and the shit they're pulling with sim city i refuse to be voluntary ripped off. I can get more for my money with ED, Blizzard, Boehima, ect.
-
not really a feature but you guys should put DCS world on steam free-to-play.
-
lockheeds contracts department will put this on every army computer simply because of the fact they have the experience of making their shit look like it smells good. The government will pay 200 dollars per copy for arma1 with a different physics engine.

Id get it for ARMA3 but I need to see my keyboard to play DCS.

What a ****ing roller coaster. The servers have been either overloaded or down for nearly a week after U.S. launch. I had to eventually just stop trying to play it because it was nearly impossible to to get pass the damn login server. yesterday i picked it up back up again and seemed more stable. My first city a neighbor moved in and put a water tower by ever sewage system in his city. crime spilled into my city as if there was no more crime to possibly commit in his own city. It's as if his city was purely setup to troll. Tip: Be careful who you move-in downwind from. as far as complexity goes its a city management sim where you fine tune your creations. filling the block can happen under a hour. I joined a mature region yesterday which already had a finical department, took out 3, 100,000 simolean loans, filled the whole map w/ roads, zones, and services/utilities, and all that was left to do was let it grow, place some parks, and infrastructure tweaks. There is still some lag on their servers so transactions can take awhile. If you want to buy services from people be sure to buy before you need it otherwise you'll be waiting for EA to process the transaction while your city falls apart. All in all. I'm claiming my free game if its not select titles which EA is offering to buyback their customers. I actually didnt have a problem w/ allways online(ish) games like SC2 and Diablo3 but after this I'm not picking up another EA title with DRM.

Pre-ordered. hope i didn't waste my $60 although i have a feeling that may be the case. EA plays with my little heart strings reviving titles i love and ruining them.

http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=79754 this used to be the way to do it but i dont have the files on my computer atm to check, i just got a new HDD. dig around the config files hopefully its still there.
-
I've been looking for it but it appears to have been hidden by a patch (or I've just forgotten where to look). one of the files you can change in notepad to have DCS black shark type mouselook + interaction. They claim it was buggy so it was never supported but the times i used it in A-10C i've never had a problem
-
I dont see the value they are charging for this.
-
Any Aces High vets try this? i would be interested to see their perspective on how they compare
-
the physix change gives me a little optomisim but i'm more interested in whether all the arma2 bugs ported over have been worked out or not.
-
the sooner its time for DCS Abrams the better
-
OMG, they finially found a role for their crappy AI that is convincing! This is probably the closest well ever get to a presistant MMOish zombie survival game. cant wait to try.
