v1.29 updated 5th April in first post, main focus being the workaround for removal of the polka-dot spots on the forests at the tree bases, the texture replaced with one that blends with the forest base and no longer has glowing spots in shadowed areas (all seasons) Also adjusted the height of the mountain snowlines so they better match the distant textures.

I have seen this post and know nothing more than you or anyone else, I'm curious about this too :)

Distance factor 3.0 with Extreme in PG map looks very pretty

In graphics.lua line 330 (see image below for reference): distancFactor = { Low = 0.5; Medium = 0.7; High = 1.0; Ultra = 1.2; Extreme = 1.5; }; pick the one that you have chosen in your options, I presume you use Extreme setting so if you want to double the draw distance of cities etc you would set it to distancFactor = { Low = 0.5; Medium = 0.7; High = 1.0; Ultra = 1.2; Extreme = 3.0; }; Beware this also affects the render distance of trees/forests, I generally put the slider to 50% when using this 3.0 setting as this causes strange issues with whole areas of forests/objects disappearing on the Caucasus map.

Yes I can attest to this, getting rock steady framerates with this set with the 1080 GTX. One of the big problems fixed in this release •[GeForce GTX 980]: NVAPI calls take a large amount of CPU time. [2418933] I'm pretty sure this affected not only the 980 but a whole swathe of cards, seems to be drawcall related and the source of the improved FPS with this driver.

Got the same at this end too, 2.5.4.28840 (current installed is 2.5.4.28841) must be a mistake.

What about changing the code via the kneeboard?

All you needed to do was delete the fxo and metashaders and the tracks/multiplayer folders from the Saved Games DCS directory, not the entire thing.

It's simple, you have to make sure that the server itself allows the use of custom textures, you can check for this as shown in this image highlighted in yellow
