Roger, OK thanks. Additionally we get ATC lagging quite extensively, i.e. 'request start' only gets a response after 2-3 mins and when we 'request taxi' the ATC menu is back to 'request start'. This is normally a good indicator that we are going to start having problems. When you do organised missions do you guys all join at once, or do you all jump into spectator first and then join the game once everyone is in? Cheers

Tonight we had 12 at mission start. From what we have seen in the past, anything from around 8 up seems to cause problems for us?

Since around 1.1.1.1, every time we have tried to host a game where we brief and everyone joins together, the server seems to have a tough time. When people join together AI starts warping all over the map and people constantly drop out. It settles down after a while, but warping still occurs through-out the mission. This doesn't seem to occur when the server is open and people join at different times. Additionally if we have more than around 8 players we get guys crashing alot, and it appears that it occurs more frequently when CBUs explode. I was wondering whether any of the squads experience this and whether you have any work arounds. Our server has a pretty good connection, so I dont think it is that.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Kaiza replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Other than the small faults listed above, its been as stable as a rock every time we have used it. -
Latest version runs through DCS world. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94679 Uninstall everything, install DCS World 1.2.1, then install the latest A-10 module on top.

Sounds great alright. How will the system handle the detection and classification of airborne targets? i.e. Will all initial detects be classified as "unknown" (a bogey). If so, how will the model then classify them? Thanks!

XM-158 rocket pod that shoots the standard 2.75" FFAR rockets I believe. These rockets come in all sorts of flavours Further info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_4/Mk_40_Folding-Fin_Aerial_Rocket -
Yeah, cant point it at the root folder either.

I'm not sure about your country, but in mine you should be able to talk to your health and safety people. They will tell you exactly what the minimum grade hearing protection is for the particular environment you are working in and should issue you something suitable.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Kaiza replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Headspace, had a trial tonight between KA50 and A-10C and noticed two things: -Had no azimuth on the speakers for both KA and A-10, all radios seemed to go through both. Previous TARS version worked fine for me. ARC164 was the only radio not trialled. -Volumes were not functioning on either ARC 186 for me. Not sure what type of log would be relevant for this report. Had TS3 3.0.8.1 Otherwise worked well, thanks again. -

Was this on multiplayer? I have seen a bug where the tanker calls disconnect 2 seconds after you connect no matter how well you fly.

What functions would be disabled if the GPS satelites were knocked out?
Kaiza replied to Echo38's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
True PeterP. You may have misread my post I was talking attitude rather than altitude. GPS position can help the INS with correcting transport errors by providing a position, but it provides no information on reference to the horizon (attitude). -

Kaiza replied to Echo38's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Remember GPS only helps solves drift in position, not attitude. GPS cant help with the attitude displayed on the HUD and ADI, it doesnt know what your pitch and roll is. Thats a pure INS solution, so losing GPS will make no difference. -

The EGI (embedded GPS inertial) is a ring laser gyro that is updated by a military P-code GPS to provide a "hybrid" solution. So essentially the system uses two different sources of position information to calculate its position. The hybrid solution uses the GPS and the inertial to come up with its best position and a figure of merit (FOM) which is an assessment of its own accuracy. If the EGI loses GPS it can still fly using only the inertial solution, however the inertial will slowly drift due to errors associated with inertials. This isn't a problem as the drift can be accounted for and updated and is how jets operated before GPS was introduced. So if a pilot went rogue as you say, and GPS satellites were jammed he or she could still use inertial and visual navigation. I am not 100% sure what EGI the A-10C has (LN-100G?) but most EGIs will automatically deselect the GPS from the position solution if it is assessed that the position is erroneous or being jammed. Remember that these GPSs are 'P-coded' so a lot more difficult to jam than a civilian GPS. -
I guess you are referring to the JTRS switch? It doesn't power a JTRS system as such, just the SADL as Eddie has said. I don't know but I suspect the switch was named with future proofing in mind, anticipating that SINCGARS, HAVE QUICK etc would all eventually be replaced with JTRS but never happened. EDIT Ok major snipage
