  1. Thanks mate
  2. Interesting! Sure looks like something ED might want with the release of DCS:F18C!
  3. Yep. Its not just the helmet, its the whole pilot. I have seen it mentioned a few times, but have no idea whether there are any plans to fix it.
  4. I am not sure why it would do this on auto start. I have not tried auto start, so have not seen this. Try this video from 1:45 onwards. It explains how to reload this DSMS, which is what you are after.
  5. Great stuff! Can anyone comment how orders work from the battle commander to other human players? I.e. if the commander orders indirect fire on a position, what indication does the arty get of this? Same applies to other ground forces such as MBTs and IFVs, is there any indication to the player what the commander has ordered, such as route and formation info? Or is the concept that will all be done via voice? Cheers.
  6. Yep, go to the flight plan page on the CDU, and on the left side of the flight plan it will say 'auto'. Press LSK 1L to change it to 'manual'. You then use DMS up and down with HUD as SOI to change waypoint.
  7. Haha- no, sorry mate I think they are referring to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AirTractor_Paris_I.jpg Personally I'd love FAC an 802U (so to speak)
  8. Laud was asking for configurable radios for ground units, i.e. having an interface to tune radios. That is not an existing feature. It certainly would be cool to have long term, but I think headspace's interim solution sounds great. Headspace- will a ground unit have one single radio or multiple? If just one, what frequency band will it be? Cheers
  9. If I am not too late, I would would love to upgrade to BS2! Please throw my name in if not. Cheers
  10. Headspace- any chance you could comment on how you are working TARS into CA? When you say "generic frequency set" do you mean that you plan to have anyone who joins as JTAC to transmit on a set frequency that is set with TARS prior to game entry? Will a player be able to transmit on multiple freqs (say for example they wanted to play AWACS and air traffic etc). Many thanks.
  11. I suspect that isn't Combined Arms, just some cool camera angles to demonstrate a sound pack for DCS World.
  12. LMFAO Peter!
  13. Because it has been stated that only visual missile systems will be simulated.
  14. There will be no requirement for a girlfriend or a dog after CA comes out, so there should not be any problems.
  15. Just played the second mission last night, really enjoyed it Bushmanni. The only problem was (we reviewed the ACMI) that the Chinooks got shot down while they were waiting at their holding point (WP 26) by the Mig 29s before we got there (we were running late). This made it an instant mission fail. We continued on anyway and cleared the airfield and second target, however it was a shame we could not clear the Chinooks in. Cheers
  16. Of note- the elevation the EGI is aligned at is roughly 400 above the targets we are sending. Not sure if that has any effect, but worth noting.
  17. OK here is a track. I receive data at ~08:21:50 which is 400' when the local elevation is around 1200'. Unfortunately metalnwoods track (my wingman) is corrupt. It shows him taxiing off the taxiway and then max powering it into some hangars. Not out of the question for him, but not what happened in this case. http://www.mediafire.com/?ag35inuvrk7pez3
  18. Yep that's it. But as far I can see the TGP is stabilized, it just appears to be moving because it is stabilized underground. Cool, I tried to get a track of this the other night but there were a lot of people online and my wingman got involved in an a-10 pileup. Would be good to get a track with someone who is familiar with this.
  19. Stall speed is affected by many things such as altitude, weight, apparently weight (or G force), flap configuration and how much power you have on. G force will have a very large affect on the stall speed which may be what you are seeing. The G force will increase the apparent weight of the aircraft by a factor of the G pulled. So a P-51D pulling 2 G will have stall a speed equivalent to what it would have at twice its level weight. The 100mph quoted in wiki will probably be a rough speed at standard weights at sea level. To get an accurate stall speed you really need a P-51D stall speed chart.
  20. That raises a question- I wonder if we will we be able to turn radar off on equipped vehicles. I would guess that we probably wont, but it would be a fun feature.
  21. Are your rudders offset if you go external view? Does it get better or worse with an increase in airspeed?
  22. LOL yeah I meant to say, I have a track but it's about an hour long. I will try and get a more concise one up and hopefully post the track from the wingman also if that would help. Cheers
  23. OK, I have been living with this problem since the betas, and I haven't been able to nail it down exactly because it was intermittent. Now I can repeat it every time. What I don't understand is why there isn't half a dozen threads in here about it, so perhaps its something I am doing wrong. I doubt this however, as the everyone I have tested it with has had the same results. Broadcasting SPI in the same situation works fine. Elevation data if sent as a tasking via SADL seems to be corrupt in many cases. The Lat and Long will be exactly correct, however the elevation will be wrong. In most of my testing the elevation has come through as 380 or 400 feet. In the pic below I have received tasking however you will notice in my TAD and TGP the elevation is 400'. To the user the target looks like it is "moving" because it is underground. If I then ground stabilise the TGP it will swap to the actual altitude which is 1298'. Different altitudes of targets do not seems to affect the difference. Do others out there have this problem? It seems to be most noticeable at higher alts.
  24. Thanks Weta, great news, but I guess that means we will need to run beta patches on a-10 and bs...
