They probably fight over who gets stuck having to read through the message boards. My guess is when they are ready, they will release it. Nothing wrong with guessing and wishing, thats what keep folks interested (I would like an F4). That said, it really has taken a single sentence and blown it up into something that guarantees disappointment. In the meantime, grab your favorite modules and hit the digital skies! Regards

I guess I could make the argument that since its a game, the Reapers are probably more “grounded I reality” than just about any. They teach you the basics of the sim, and also teach you not to take yourself too seriously. Some of their campaigns really stretch the potential of this “world”. Beats the hours of “pong” I played as a kid! I love the ability to “check out” for an hour or so every once in a while but unless your butt has been in a real fighter, your not a fighter pilot. Enjoy your time with it. It really is an amazing experience! Regards

I read it simply they will be releasing one of the planes they say they have been developing. Didn’t say anything about one that “has been in secret development” or “coming from the ED skunkworks”. Interesting is that I can do 70-90 all day long in Sp. last week I was crowing that I hadn’t seen a fps below 45 in MP in quite a long time. Fast forward to this weekend. Mp at 30-35 fps. Tried deleting shaders and fxo, no luck. local ping 11ms. Stable version and UTD drivers.

Just a sarcasm really. Again, not sure anyone can really argue one against the other, totally different objectives. Interesting enough, most of these hi faluten competitions are BVR. Nobody looks outside the cockpit anyway. Each their own. Regards

My suggestion would be to create a private server and only let your peeps in. Public servers are just that, public. I always find it interesting that people use “public”‘resources to learn, then when they become “experts “. Try to regulate everything to their liking. Certainly I can see how very annoying are the issues that the OP brings up in his world. That said the solution to his problem is In his hands. My particular grind is the guys that cruise around in a well known server just off the end of a runway behind a mountain and loft 120’s from miles away before your flaps are up. Then bitch because said server isn’t keeping their “stats” correctly. So I don’t fly there.... Get it done and enjoy your server. Regards

I beat pilots all day long in my F14 and Index. And I also loose all day long in the same setup. Finally, sometimes when I’m feeling froggy I use an outside view and fly while watching the whole fight at a distance arcade style . Your statement only proves you prefer Track Ir over VR. And think of how much more superior our air forces would be if they could just turn their heads 20 degrees and see behind them? “serious sim”or game? All jokes aside different strokes for different folks! I love the Sa in an airquake style server but on a server with a more “global” style conflict, I never even see who shoots me. Picking out aircraft at a distance without tags is an absolute sticking point. That said, if I want to watch wings on a monitor, ill boot up youtube! Agree to disagree and move forward. Cheers

Fwiw I have noticed 2 things in MP lately and Im on stable. A whole bunch of server time outs even with a “local internet ping” of 11ms And after a good fight, I can go find all of my missles that missed because they just stop and hang out in space. Suppose it could be my setup but nothing changed on this end since I got her running well except regularly deleting fxo and shadders files.

If only they would have thought to put room for 12 troops in the back of an Abrams. Big miss in my eyes.....

Ok but as to the OP original question (as I understand it anyway). The super Carrier seems to be the first time that DCS will require 2 separate modules to run in tandem. (Is this correct). If so, has the developers seen any added system resources “tax” based on this. As I’m fairly sure they are testing. This matters, at least in my opinion because based on Bignewys published systems recommendations, using minimal systems results in minimal performance. To be more specific. My system below seems well above requirements yet performance is “fair to midland” in VR. If I purchase (which I have) the SC module, will I have to crank settings even further down to maintain FPS? Simple question I believe but maybe not...

At least in the dogfight server, I’m chewing tail with the F14, sidewinder and guns only. I only have relative low stick time but it seems the maneuverability, speed and ability to out climb just about everything it rocks. Only time I fret is when I’m against another f14. (Not saying I’m invincible mind you) but will say that the F18 seems like a sitting duck at least in that environment. (I’m sure there are many 18 pilots that will repeatedly smoke my butt) Basically just saying once you get over the whole break you’re wings deal its a very capable plane. Regards
