  1. Flew with a 4-ship of Tomcats last night, loaded 2-2-2 across the board, AIM-54C mk47 motors, all 60nm+ shots against targets ranging from MiG-21 to MiG-31. Out of 8 missiles 6 hit their targets, 1 was defeated, and 1 was an extra shot on a target that already had an incoming missile that was thought defeated but did indeed hit. So of 7 single missiles shot at targets, 60nm+ distance, 6 hit. Mix of TWS and STT. The missile works good, BUT it's a lot more hands on than an AMRAAM. You have to know your launch windows. Speed, altitude, of both you and your target, to make those long distance kills. The AI cheats. At 10nm they detect the missile and go defensive, even if the missile isn't Pitbull yet. That is what needs fixing. A lot of misses we see in tacview afterwards are because the AI just decides to go defensive when there's no possibility of it knowing it was shot at. 2. Well that's because targets flying at you close the distance a lot faster than targets flying away. A shot made at 80nm with a MiG-25 flying at you at 1100 kts the missile might only fly 60nm before impact. If the target is flying away, it would actually have to fly 100nm to reach it. Just rough examples. And obviously high altitude air is a lot thinner. A missile fired at 40,000 feet will fly much further than a missile fired at 20,000 feet. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  3. Should've never fired that to begin with. A 50nm shot is for targets coming at you, at similar altitude. Moving away and at low altitude was never going to happen, no matter the loft profile. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. A 50nm shot at a cold target??? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah most people do. When you're in tension and spooled up, just cycle your lights and off you go. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. Ah yeah good point! It could be gear activated rather than flaps. Didn't think of that, since the gear is down before the flaps come out, and the procedure in the break is gear, flaps, dlc. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. Would be nice if the tanker announced it's about to turn, so you can expect it. It happens so suddenly you can easily get startled. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  8. True, but not everyone knows that. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  9. Why? It's a reminder of what we all want! A Felix F-14D [emoji1787] Every time you load into the game, "here, look at what you can't have" [emoji1787] Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  10. It's only active when the flaps are down, flaps are only down when you're landing or taking off from the carrier, (land take off is no flaps or maneuver flaps) so DLC is only used when landing. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  11. Shooters obviously can't see you salute at night, so you cycle your external lights off and on. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  12. Then in theory the mk47 is the better motor to have. Their total output is a 1000 N apart, 367,xxx vs 366,xxx but the mk60 starts decelerating 6.4 seconds earlier. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  13. Funny that this thread popped up. The other day I had a runway landing, and it was so smooth, on speed and without a flare, that when the weight came on wheels and the DLC deactivated, she took off again [emoji1787] so used to keeping the power on, on deck that I never cut the throttles on a land runway [emoji1787] Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  15. The missile isn't the issue, it's the psychic AI that goes defensive before the missile even goes active. The more modern the plane you're shooting at, the higher probability of a miss. I can go 4 for 4 against gen 3 and early gen 4 aircraft all day long, but as soon as you go up against more modern aircraft the PK goes down dramatically. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  16. Works fine in VR. Over London and Paris it got a little noticeable, but not bad. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  17. Was flying around, checking out your gorgeous map, looks amazing, and noticed this over Heathrow. Is it going to get expanded? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  18. I had the same bug in mission 3 of the new campaign. Jester was locking up targets, but nothing in my LANTIRN repeater up front. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  19. Mission 3 the CAG defects and lands at Jirah after we're cleared RTB Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  20. Never saw the 29's. I turned back to WP2 and went on with my CAP. All I saw were MiG-21's later on. When we transitioned to the Southern CAP we were there forever until suddenly Jester called out more splashed 29's that were never there, then we got the call to rendezvous with the tanker, but he decided to go home already. 21. Yep, me too. Exactly the same. He says to fly to WP1 so I'm guessing we had to go there from Incirlk after overflying the tanker, then we would've been told to land, etc. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  22. Mission 2 once I got clearance to go to the tanker after doing the Southern CAP for about 37 tracks, the tanker decided to go home to Incirlik before I got to the tanker. I had enough fuel left to land, but needless to say I failed the mission. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  23. F-14B FM tuning. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  24. It's ok Martha, you'll be able to deactivate it soon. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
