Genius BGP :!: I am now kicking myself for not thinking of it, D'Oh!, I have kept meaning to post this very same question myself. AFAIK the saitek software will not allow cyclic keystrokes on one button. (the press and hold works, but not great).... so I'm confused. How did you cycle keystrokes to one button in X45? (I use the profile editor only)

Some of you will be happy to know ...
bflagg replied to GGTharos's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The F5 view gives you an external view and allows you to see your closest threat including orientation. This F5 view is considered a cheating view and servers blocked ALL external views to prevent cheating. But if disabled on a server, then servers can have those pretty external views without too much worry about view-cheating. very cool (I've never used it before online, so I was unaware)... thanks! -

v1.2 Market Research Poll - Ka-50 or no?
bflagg replied to SwingKid's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Need more choices to be more effective in your poll. -- How about providing FM to all aircraft and not just the SU-25. correct their Radars, and missle parameters and adding a dynamic campaign BEFORE putzing around with a add-on. -- I think it's a bad strategic mistake - business wise - to ingnore these issues. -
Landing perfect. Where to park your jet?

as long as you stop and kill your engines off the runway, the mission has always been a win for me. (i've never tried to hit the esc key to exit out after completing the mission) -
think maybe they are trying for a Online Battlefield type of thing? kinda what fighter ops is alluding to....
-
Jeroen79, I know what he was alluding to, but I still find it confusing when folks keep suggesting that such a damage model is a AI, when it's not. I AM NOT try to start anything, just talk POV as it should be in forums..
-
Please forgive me, but why do you guys call wings falling off "AI". This is nothing more than ..register hit here, show this bitmap..... AI is when something acts directly against you..... I've seen multiple posts with the same reference as Kuoster ... and to me it doesn't match what I know about AI.

Source  http://www.lockon.ru/index.php?lang=en This is my case in point. I rarely look at the main page and would expect the forum to have the info provided by a representative of ED. I mean, isn't that what a forum is for?.....communication between like minded people and the developers? If it wasn't for Skywall23, I wouldn't (and probably quite a few others) wouldn't know that ONE word, changed on the main page, but for all the people that come here to this forum, the "here now customers" .... there is nothing. End of Feb/beginning of March....ok then. I can still wait. I'm not trying to start a argument or something that childish, but a simple post from ED "due to some problems with _______ (fill in the blank) we have to move the expected release date to the end of Feb".

bflagg, Do you think the Russian community is being given information that you "English speaking folks" are deprived of?. I just told you what the status is.....it is being prepared for distribution, which means that it is very close to release. I dont know the exact date, and I doubt anyone does......the release dates being stated are, and can only be, estimates. Cheers, - JJ. No..no.. sorry, you misunderstood my intent here.... I probably didn't convey it correctly ....sorry. I'm not bitch'in about when, (it's gonna get done when it's done.), I was just looking for a heads up on what the project status is...
-
On the whole, I really do think ED should let us english speaking folks know what is going. I've never asked for a released date or status, but I gotta admit, it would be nice to let your customer know what the status is....instead of keeping us all in the dark.

Idea about creating a "simulated dyn campaign" - a
bflagg replied to bflagg's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
For me a dynamic campaign is more important than any addon.... GAMEPLAY is the driving force, not just another flyable AC. (eyecandy can only get you so far....). I posted this suggestion for a branching campaign in the realization that a DC is not coming out in the near future and it was an attempt to have the DEV's think about an alternative until DC is ready (I'm guessing a few years from now). anyways guys.. good night.... -

I know this is quite a task for the designer and will be quite heavy, but what choice do we have? In response to S.K.. the mission editor would have to remember your force loadouts. This way your don't have to manully re-enter all your BMP/Carrier/tanks/jets &.etc...properties. (ie..if I had a force of 25 T-80 with a green flashlights ducttaped to the muzzles at the beginning, the mission editor would have to remember such a setting throughout the mission creation process. - this is the biggest time waster now within the current mission editor) anyways... just thinking out loud... thanks all -
I think this will be easy to implement, but since I have no c or c++ experience (well a little), all I can do is suggest this idea... Current situation: Each mission in a campaign is static and only lends itself to the campaign by what the mission creator put in the briefing summaries. Premise: Create the ability for missions within a campaign to understand a simple "If...then" statement. This "if...then" is predefined in LOMAC as a checkbox at the beginning of each mission creation. For each mission these predefined choices (can only choose one) will exist. Success, 100% mission targets destroyed, within XX:XX timeframe Success, 100% mission targets destroyed. Failure, 50% mission targets destroyed. Failure, 0% mission tragets destroyed. Pilot killed, 0% mission targets destroyed. Restart These outcomes (very simple - no mission details) would be stored in a "token" file unique to that campaign. When each mission loads in a campaign, it looks at the last entry of this "token" file and loads the approapriate mission. For each mission I complete, Lomac would respond to the next missoin load with a "if then " type of logic... If current mission completed at 100% and within XX time, then load MssionSuccess1 (for pressing attacks...) If current mission completed at 100% and exceed XX time, then load missionSuccess2 If current mission completed 50% and mission status = failed, then load missionFail1 If current mission completed 0% and failed , then load missionFail2. Pilot Killed. - restart I as the designer of the campaign would essentially design the whole process flow of success/failures. For every aspect of of the flow, i would have a mission predefined for each potential step. This way, you can create a campaign, that depending on your success rates, the Defending/Attacking forces will advance/retreat as needed and can simulate "real time" battles. The beauty is No AI is involved here. It's a simple branching logic that dictacts the next mission to load. This would off load the campaign logic creation to the designer him/herself. The final benefit, is that a more or less, a full war can happen online or offline(single player). The desinger of the capaign would have to keep in mind the troop losses etc when creating missions. What do you think? I hope I explained this right...

Guys... I thought about doing a campaign and started a skeloten of one, but I quickly realized...at what point do I script the conflict? ie.. I setup a soviet Naval group to setup off shore to provide support to a land based movement, with helo / jets support. Things I asked myself, a naval carrier group will take at 45 knots from mainland russia to nw corner of crimera, approx 8 hours... How in the heck do you deal with this? The user must wait 8 hours for the carriers to setup, then wait another 2 for the ground movement? How do I get the carrier group to be agressive? will it lauch it's own caps? If I bring it to a "waypoint" and designate "attack".. will it attack items within it's influence? How do I setup the opposing force? What do they do for the 8+ hours while the carrier force manuvers...? There is a basic campaign design concept that I'm missing... Can anyone help? (I'm thinking "points in time setups" to do a campaign...but not sure)

Re: Help! Connecting to TV It's not a TV problem. Usually if your TV can't support the signal, it will go blank or fry. A TV can usually support 640x480 and most newer ones will support 800x600. Anything greater requires a adapter to convert to your tv. My All in Wonder (9800 pro) supports HDTV out (1900x1200@60hz), but is useless because you cannot read any text (I have 50" mitsubishi and it supports up to 1024x768...text is a bit blurry) Maybe for the heck of it, I'll try to play lomac in high-def.. I won't be able to read the menus but I think I can click thru to try it. Since the Superbowl is this weekend, I probably give it a go in a few weeks. (I'll probably get 1 frame per week in the game) Be very careful in what you are doing. If you try to do a higher resolutions and your card sends a higher scan frequencies than you tv can handle, you have a good chance of frying your tv. You have two choices.. Configure your PC to the resolution types of the monitor, or tell your tv to support 4:3 ratios in it's setup menu. A 4:3 ratio resolution for your monitor would be 800x600, 1280x960, 1900x1200 (- i "think" these are right) There are numerous groups out there on the net that can better help you if you wish to dig further...(avforums comes to mind...)
