  1. Currently, it will show any missile on datalink, which is a little unrealistic IMO. But thats a datalink issue, the AWG-9 can't detect any missiles, even the large ones (e.g. Harpoons or RB4s). Don't know if it can detect the very large ones (e.g. AS-4), but it should.
  2. You can still manually enter the coordinates, that works properly
  3. I did all my tests with hotstarts and no refueling/rearming. Interestingly, if you take off from the beach and land on the boat, then rearm/refuel and launch, everything is fine. It's spawning on the carrier that seems to produce the issue.
  4. Its been like that at least since this thread started. Don't know if it was present before that since I didn't notice it until after doing these test https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3981013&postcount=23
  5. That's what I'm seeing too, but ONLY if I either: -take off from land fully loaded, then burn fuel and/or fire missiles until 54,000lbs -take off from the boat with 54,000lbs -airstart with 54,000lbs If I take off from the boat fully loaded and the burn down to 54,000lbs, I need about 150kts to stay on AoA FWIW sea level top speeds did not differ between the scenarios. I therefore believe that some "ghost weight" is added to the airplane if you start on the carrier.
  6. On some engines, air enters the fuel pump if the engine flames out due to fuel starvation. This can potentially kill the fuel pump and render the engine unusable. Whether this is the case in the F110 and/or whether this is modelled I don't know however.
  7. With the wings swept back, the torque on the wing root is massively reduced and the wings can withstand much more Gs than with wings fully forward. 20G may be a little too optimistic but not entirely unthinkable with the wings fully aft. I'm also not sure if the pilot would black given the short amount of time the 20Gs are sustained.
  8. I wouldn't turn an engine off for practice. Just keep one engine at idle until touchdown. Of course if you only have one throttle lever this will be problematic. Taking off with a single engine is possible but tricky. I wouldn't bother with engine airstarts. Engines never flame out in DCS without damage and if they do from battle damage, they are out for good. Aerial refueling is an important skill and should be trained extensively
  9. While there are tons of emergency/abnormal procedures IRL, theres only a couple of things you should know for DCS: - If the combined (i.e. left) hydraulic system fails, normal gear and hook operation will fail. Therefore, you will need to use the emergency gear and hook extend/lower. This is done by right clicking the respective handle. Note that NWS will be unavailable after emergency gear extend - Flying with a single engine produces considerable amount of asymmetric thrust. You might want to practice single engine flights in landing configuration in case you need to land with a failed engine - The emergency jettison button on the left vertical console just left of the gear/flaps indcator is your friend if you need to loose weight quickly. - Optimum glide speed is around 205Kts (wings fully forward of course) - Spin recovery : Stick forward and into the turn, opposite rudder, throttles idle.
  10. There is an option in the jester wheel under "crew contract utility" doing exactly that.
  11. I have to correct myself. Putting the feed switch out of NORM will not transfer fuel to the unused sides' box beam tank (unless fuel is left in the wing tanks), meaning that you will be stuck with 300lbs of fuel (thats the capacity of one sump tank) on the unused side once the box beam tank on that side is empty. In short, you cannot get a feed groups fuel state above 300lbs with the FEED switch once it reaches that state unless you have fuel in the wings left. But again, the WING/EXT TRANS switch should not influence this in any way if there is no malfunction present.
  12. In STT, the radar will automatically move the antenna towards the target. In TWS MAN (the only TWS mode we currently have), the antenna az/el is not controlled automatically and has to be set by the RIO. Jester cannot do that unfortunately, regardless of PH being guided or not. However, we will get the TWS AUTO mode, where the WCS will automatically slews the antenna towards the centroid of the priority TWS tracks. So to answer your question, you have to explicitly tell Jester to slew the radar in scenarios (1) and (2). Keep in mind that the elevation commands for jester are rather coarse (low/middle being -16° radar elevation angle). This is pretty much useless unless you are way above and close to the bandit. I recommend staying at roughly the same altitude as the bandit for now when enganging in TWS.
  13. Thats interesting. The fuel transfer switch should not influence L/R fuel balancing in any way, especially if there is lots of fuel left in the fuselage tanks. All this switch does is force open the wing transfer shutoff valves and pressurize the tanks in case of some elecrical fault. Since the wing transfer valves should be automatically opened anway in flight, this switch has effectively no function in flight. Placing the feed switch out of NORM on the other hand should immidiately equilize fuel levels in the left and right feed group, as it opens both the sump tank interconnect valve and the box vent valves, thereby effectively combining the left and right feed group into a single one. However, depending on engine demand, an imbalance could still occur if the fuel consumption from the non-selected engine side exceeds the supply from the selected side through the sump tank interconnect valve.
  14. Hmm didn't notice any changes recently. PH are as usual, not great, not terrible. SP are still basically dead weight.
  15. Really? I remember the nozzle behaviour being changed from opened after shutdown to closed due to SME feedback.
  16. TWS Auto would be awesome...
  17. IMO without his explicit consent you shouldn't be distributing them, not the other way around (i.e. putting them up until he objects to that) He probably took them down for a reason. Thats a real pity and I can understand that people want to have these, but still it's his guides and he decides whether to put them up or not. The fact that he removed them indicates he doesn't want them around anymore and we should respect that.
  18. Antenna gimbal limit indication would be nice too (the real 29 should have that)
  19. AFAIK no BITs are implemented yet except for the first three (LTS, FIRE EXT and INSTR)
  20. Same issue here, really throws off trim requirements in the pattern compared to previous versions. Although I must admit coming out of the break turn is easier now, since you don't need that much nose up trim
  21. Can you please add a JESTER option for this? I once had a friendly HAWK firing at bogeys and the RWR priotized the HAWK sidelobes instead of the Flanker that was firing at me, which the RWR didn't show.
  22. Nothing to do with left or right light. Thats just the way it looks when the sun shines directly on the light. It may be a little overdone but warning/caution light visibility with direct sun exposure is an issue in RL too
  23. I'm not sure where you got that experience but from my experience its very far from perfect or being a "cheat". I've had AI's defeating 20nm shots, both kinematically and through notching. It is nowhere near unbeatable, even when launched in STT. Maybe your missile defense skills need imrpoving...
  24. Exactly. Actually, PD is what enables radars to find targets in a look down situation in the first place. The downside is that it will reject any return that has the same doppler shift (i.e. relative speed) as the ground below you. If you have already STTed a target in PD, there should be no need to get the target above the horizon, as the radar already knows where to look and does not need to rely on the doppler effect to discriminate target return from ground return. However, it seems that when switching from PD-STT to P-STT, the radar does lose lock sometimes. I therefore recommend to just stay in PD-STT all the way in, since the probability of loosing lock due to mode switch is in my experience higher than loosing lock due to the bandit notching you (at least against AI).
