Wait, what? The russians give you colored training books? Damn, the ones i saw from the S61 and S76 where just black and white. Also, do i see it correctly it has an Main Gear Box, connected to some kind of auxilary gearbox which is then connected to the APU?

Lol, there's always a good laugh somewhere on those forums.:D

Ah, let me have a look in the ME, believe that's already possible. (unfortuantely, jammers don't have any effect at the moment, known bug) EDIT Nope, its not. Would be a nice one to add to the advanced waypoint options.

Guess i interpreted in wrongly then.

Phasing out BlackShark Upgrade in DCS World
159th_Falcon replied to Terminal Meltdown's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Poll settings are biased towards one goal and therefor useless. Its not that big of a deal to install BS1 so you can install BS2 As said previously, its NOT required to install it on the same disk. -
To first fix the AI Sams to change there behavior/capabilities in the presence of jammers. (DONT FORGET THE SHIPS!!!) (most player controlled A/C have onboard jammers or on pylons)

You do know you can use templates to "safe" certain groups and re-use them in later missions? (specially useful for FARPS and there required units)

I have a X52Pro as well. And for the A10C you can make your own profile quite easily cause most of the stuff you can set in the ingame options more easily. Here's what i have set in the profile; Pinkie = unprogrammed (make sure to actually right-click it in the profile and set "unprogrammed" instead of "fall back") Precision Slide = Bands 0 - 10% i have set A (which i set in game as extend speed brake) 10-90% is blank/unbound 90-100% i have set to S (which i set in game as retract speed brake) Mouse X Axis = Bands 0-35% i have set , (comma) (slews A10C sensors left) (like targeting pod) 35-65% is blank/unbound 65-100% i have set / (slew Right) Mouse Y Axis = Bands 0-35% i have set ; (semi-colon) (slew up) 35-65% i have set . (period) (Slew up) And that's all i have set in the profile, the rest i set ingame. If you use the pinky switch as a modifieir (ingame go to options, controls, Modifiers, add, select x52pro as controller and then JOY-BTN6, which is the pinky switch on the stick) This makes the pinky switch basically a shift key in game. Allowing you to assign two function to the same button. For example, on the black POV switch i have bound as TMS (left, right, up, down) But if i hold the pinky switch, then it is set to TRIM (roll left, right, pitch up, down) For the grey one below it i have set; DMS (left, right, up, down) + pinky its Coolie Hat (left, right, up, down) For the gun trigger, there is a little trick cause it has two stages, and so has the A10C. (hit P to highlight the gun in the controls list, easyiest way to find it) Assign the gun trigger first stage, and pull the X52's trigger till ya hear one click. hold it there, and hit ok. While still holding the trigger of the X52 in the same position, assign the Gun Trigger. Now pull the X52's trigger further back till you hear the second click, and hold it there, then hit ok again. Your done. (and can let go of the trigger now:D) What this does is the following, the A10C has an stabilization system that helps keeping the gun where you pointed it on the ground. This activates when you press the first stage of the trigger. If you then pull it trough to the second stage the gun will start firing. Hope this gets you started on the most important stuff. ~S~

As far as i know its either Green for down and locked or off. Maybe Red or Orange to indicate gear is in travel. Been a while i flew the shark though.

One more thing, if the airport your landing on is not friendly. (ie neutral or enemy) you cannot rearm/refuel/repair there. You can check the F10 map view and click on an airports icon to see the coalition it belongs to.

SFM? No thank's. Quality rather then Quantity for me.

What is probably happening is that an axis of one of your controllers is assgined as a camera control. To check, unplug ALL controllers you have connected to your PC. (joysticks, gamepads etc etc) Go ingame, and see if the issue presists or is solved. If it is solved, close the game, plug in one controller, launch game. If the issue is back you now know what controller is causing it. If not, repeat and connect one more controller. Do this till you find the one causing the problem. Then go trought the option/controls screen in singleplayer and clear the axis assignment.

Actually, you want to do that right away. At least, if your using an Saitek X52 or X52PRO HOTAS Why? Well someone that joined our squad recently kept having problems that the engines wouldn't start in Multiplayer. (whit automatic or manual start up, Single Player both ways worked fine.) Long story short, turned out the DCS World Multiplayer was using the Joystick profile of the DCS A10C standalone version............ Causing the game to see throttle not at idle (was bound to the slider) And preventing them to be moved to the idle detent to start the engines. Took a couple hrs before we figured this one out, so i thought i would let you know in advance. ~S~

AWESOME!

And it is also said in that article that implementation on the F35 could prove problematic due to the US Arms industry.
-
Engines need to be off for repairs. Believe you can leave the APU running though. To repair use the radio menu, ground crew, and ask for repairs.

There's a problem whit custom aircraft skins in a multiplayer environment. This problem happens whit the following aircraft; SU-25, SU-25T, SU-27, SU-33, MIG-29S, KA-50 A-10C, UH-1H, P-51D, A-50, IL-78M and possibly some others. Above aircraft are the only ones we (159th) use custom skins for though. So, on about the actual problem. In multiplayer, once everyone has joined in for a squad flight, people started reporting not seeing the squad skins. Either on there own, or on client aircraft. So, for example, if we have clients A, B, C, D, E and F; (in this it doesn't matter if A trough F are flying the same, or different types of aircraft) A can see skins for C, D, E and F, but not from B and its own A/C B can see its own skin plus C, D, E and F, but not from A C can see skins for A, F and its own but not for, B, D, E and F D can see all skins just fine E cant see any skins F sees skins on different planes then in examples A, B and C yet again. (note, we have been struggling whit this for years now, and have done EXTENSIVE troubleshooting) For example, we started whit making sure all the right skin slots were selected in the mission files. Done by multiple people, all found OK, so that's not the problem. Then we thought that maybe you needed to install the skins on the server hosting the mission. Installed skins on the server, problem still occurs. Then we thought people did not install all skins (or incorrectly) I made an .exe that either installs all skins or none, it also checks the install path to make sure everything goes where it should. Problem still there. Then we figured it could be a problem whit individual skins. Tested them all separately in SP missions and they work fine. Then we tought it may be caused by porting over missions from older versions of DCS. (some as old as FC2) I made an test mission in the current version of DCS World, and invited some squad mate's to come in and test. Problem still occurs. All the above leads me to believe that the network code is causing all this. Maybe because it is regarded as a low priority over other types of traffic like A/C positions? Anyway's, it is an immensely annoying bug, and we as a squad ran out of options to try and solve it. So, could you please go ahead and try to solve this issue? I would like to hand over our squad skins so you guys can test, but ofcourse we want to keep them exclusive to our members. That's what squad skins are for. So before i do that i will have to discuss it whit the squad. ~S~ Falcon ps, i may have forgotten ways we have used to troubleshoot the problem This would be because its an problem that's going on for years now.

Thank's for the tip, never knew that. What's the key combo to get back to the original zoom level though?
-
Hopefully they will redo (part of) the current map. Or maybe shift it slightly North, Easth, West or South and make a new one. Also very curious to know, will EDGE allow for bigger maps? Or possibly even a full world by loading new section's of terrain as you fly over it. (ofcourse doing so far enough ahead of you so as not to notice it)

Fingers crossed Steam will apply the latest updates as they become available. Instead of keeping outdated versions online forever. Or will the auto-updater take care of it?

As long as such an feature can be turned off by the mission designer i'm all for it.
