  1. Great to see that the A10-A and my favorite attack plane, SU-25A have received some love. And even there own Sub-forum Question, was the flight model of the SU-25A adjusted? Particularly take-off? It seems much more fluent now then in Flaming Cliffs iterations. Which is a good thing.:thumbup: Also nice that we now have working cockpit mirrors. Meaning you can toggle them on-off in game. (its bound to the letter" M ") Last question, how much $$$ for an full DCS level SU-25 A simulation? :joystick:
  2. Because Nikolai Melnyk was not the only liquidator. He was one of thousands. Many volunteered. All hero's in my eyes. And not because they killed people in Wars.
  3. Or AMD equivalent. Agree though, avoid using CF or SLI in DCS at all costs. (be it 2 cpu's on the same cart or 2 physical cards)
  4. If CTD's on our squad server count, a couple a day depending on usage by community. As client not a whole lot, but didn't do any real flights either. Just a bit of airquake
  5. Cause it keeps the arms industry running which in turn makes for good politics?
  6. Your never safe, but below 130 km/h your extremely difficult to find whit radar though. Also, don't fly to low kicking up dust, its an exellent way to be spotted visually and get killed.
  7. indeed, but what about all the other Hero's? Lots of people have given there lives, right there and then. Nothing negative towards Nikolai Melnyk though, just saying he was one of many hero's there.
  8. Push pull rods transmit PRESSURE (or tension, depending on way of travel and rotorhead construction) They do not, and can not, apply torque. Depending on helicopter, you are correct. (torque can also be measured by measuring how many degrees the drive shaft twists along its axis, for example) You make a small mistake at the end though. A swashplate is one unit, build up out of the lower and upper halves. As it is one part, its not physically possible that the lower section tilts forward while the upper section tilts sideways. The 90 degree offset is usually created by the way the rotor head is constructed and the place where the pitch link attaches to the rotorhead. (or rotor blade, or pitch change lever etc etc etc) exactly!, so if we compare the situation during straight and level flight to the situation in an coordinated turn control inputs that have changed are; cyclic pedals collective (and throttle as well, could be automatic, or manual though) Just like we said before. Below an picture of a swashplate, incase people here don't know how it looks. As you can see quite nicely in this picture, its one unit. (this particular picture shows an model helicopter swashplate but overall construction is the same, just smaller)
  9. Post already edited, realized the mistake and saw the link to wiki explaining it better anyway. (i think)
  10. Removed, wasn't thinking straight.
  11. Just ran the mission, in a bit of unusual way though. Launched the mission, picked my slot (KA50 enfield 1-2) Unpaused the game. And that's all i did, just left my computer alone after that. Mission was still running when i came back after 13 minutes. So this probably means the crash only happens after user input. ill go and have a look in the mission editor for any triggers etc anyway though. ***EDIT***\ Ran for a second time after looking at the triggers and seeing the radio menu options. This time i picked the lead A10C and started it using the cheat start up. Once it was started up i used the radio menu. When i used the option "F1, Request Task" the column Q1 stopped where it was. (not sure why, triggers don't seem to be set up this way) When i then used the option "F1, Request Sitrep" nothing happened. Waited till about 13 mins orso had passed and again no crash. ***EDIT*** Made a small modification to the mission, being that i changed the column Q1 escort to one vehicle (unarmed HMMV) And set the speed to max (72km/h) this way it would reach WP1 sooner where it should hold according the advanced wp menu Ran the mission, again in the A10C slot, again started whit cheat startup Waited for the Q1 Escort to stop at WP1, it did, so far nothing strange used radio menu again, Request Task, Q1 Escort resumed driving After a little while i used radio menu again, request sitrep, nothing happend. Waited for Q1 escort to reach the town, where it would be killed by the ambush. HMMV got killed by rpg, no crash used radio menu again to request a task, and nothing happened. So, how are you flying this mission? What are you doing / have you done when it crashes? Is the first enemy infantry group alive when it crashes? Are some of them dead? Or is the whole group dead?
  12. As for a switch board; http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=235 Should provide plenty connections and not to expensive either.
  13. As said, i'm not flaming. Also, there used to be community events like Red Flag and LOCERF Take a guess as to why i said. USED TO, ie, not anymore. And again, i didn't miss anything. Its an conscious choice to ignore that request. And if ED is really that concerned about stability, etc, how come there's no fruits of there labour? PS, the poll actually just asks for my opinion, it doesn't tell me to make a choice from the poll list, rather it only lists a couple of the possible options;
  14. I didn't miss anything. My opinion was asked, yet instead of using the poll i voiced my opinion trough a reply. And i'm not flaming. Merely stating cold hard facts.
  15. This poll misses an important option; Improved stability, reliability and synchronization in multiplayer. To clarify, last night i was flying whit someone on a server, and i did not even see him in the playerlist. When logging on to said server via teamviewer and looking at the server playerlist he was listed though. Another issue was someones plane warping all over the place. His ping to the server was 50 and he was apparently sitting still on the apron. And this ofcourse, DCS needs it;
  16. When flying whit a combat load a throttle setting of between 90 and 95 % is usually most economical. Well, unless things have changed since FC2. Interesting thread.
  17. I had 4 or 5 ER kills beyond 20 km last night while flying whit someone else. We incured one hit and zero losses.
  18. Very true, for whatever duration the server manages to stay online though. And you don't have to be whit many either. Just a couple minutes ago i ended a 2 hour orso flight whit Laser something. Great fun, good teamwork, and neither of us got shot down. We shot, i believe 4 or 5 enemy a/c down though. Didn't even know the guy btw, saw him playing on our squad server and TS and just joined in.:joystick:
  19. Harsh as it may sound, its true. DCS IS slacking in terms of quality and stability. I have hearth 2 or 3 people over the last 2 weeks orso that came back to DCS after a long time. They have noticed some features introduced, but above all they noticed the following; it runs worse its less stable it has more bugs AI is even worse then before. Mission's that were previously possible are not anymore cause the game will crash. It simply can't handle the complexity of it anymore. Be it cause of to many units, triggers or whatever combination there off. And other factors. (mind you, it was working back in the day of KA-50 black shark 1 and things supposedly have gotten better, SUPPOSEDLY) ED has a great concept whit DCS World, but they need to put some serious time into fixing it before adding any new stuff. There is simply so much broken/working incorrectly that adding features to what we have now would be like carrying buckets of water to the ocean. Sure you can do it, but it doesn't have any use. DCS needs to become a solid codebase on which to build on before any features are added or even thought off. Its not nice to say, and i don't like it either. But its the cold harsh truth. DCS has been expanding rapidly, but its quality and reliability in a variety of fields is going down hill FAST! ***EDIT*** True, and lets be clear, i love the updates. They don't improve game stability and performance though, its "just" news. About the rest, there fixing bugs by introducing new ones. there's also issues they seem to be ignoring. Issues, that where not present in earlier versions of the game. (be that FC 1, 2, BS1, BS2, A10C etc)
  20. But in your previous post you said i should ignore it because the ED testers "PROBABLY" already know about it. See the problem there? There's no way for the normal user to tell if ED testers already know a bug, or not. Anyway, im starting to get a feeling were running round in circles. ~S~ lets see what ED comes up whit to streamline everything.
  21. And what about bugs that you don't know about but DO exist in release?
  22. Wasn't it ment for only new bugs? Yes it was! Under "DCS World Beta Testing If its in the released version it was already there and should not be reported. Or maybe it was overlooked and needs to be reported? I see a problem here, or are all the moderators and ED Testers going to sift out all the reports? If so, better buy a truck full of coffee.
  23. Community is already reporting bugs. Its a bit of a mess though. And hopefully this will make it a bit more streamlined for all parties involved.
