Landing on roof (succesfully) = hit building, not landing?
159th_Falcon replied to Pigmachine's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Been doing that kind of stuff ever since BS was released. Never noticed any such issues, then again, never really look at the debrief..... -
Sample: huey troop pickup/dropoff via radio command
159th_Falcon replied to Deck's topic in Mission Editor
Ok, thank's for the help Deck. Ill start whit trying RUS huey's and new locations for the trigger zone's If that all works i might give the code another look. (could it be as simple as renaming all M4 entries to AK47 and all M249 to RPG?) -
:lol::lol::megalol: Sometimes i think this community is full of lunatics. Its times like this that my suspicions are confirmed.

In that case, could you tell us what exact engine model and type of blades the DCS Huey uses? That way the users also know what they have to compare it with.

How to build a FDM for DCS?
159th_Falcon replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
The problem is that all these's, by us considered as low quality add -ons, will actually be advertised as being ultra realistic. Meaning you will never be able to tell the difference until its to late, being you already bought the product only to find out its crap. So i'd rather have ED keep things as they are and have 3rd party developers prove there worth before getting to know the ins and outs of our precious simulation engine. -
1) there is in sim, at least when firing a pair of rockets. (1 each side) 2) as above 3) That the helicopter shakes is to be expected, shaking is quite different from a violent change in Pitch though. A salvo of 38 rockets is bound to have an impact if it wasn't simply for a change of overall weight and CoG, like Sundowner.pl explained. And as you mention, the pitch of the Mi-8 went up, Huey in sim goes down (99% sure) Also, to clarify, not posting all this to make the Huey or Belsimtek look bad. More like trying to help and point out an issue. Cause so far, you guys made one hell of a simulator that's great fun to play. And i have only two real issues whit it at the moment. The rocket recoil discussed here If you move to any of the moving gun position's Track IR is default way to control them. Which sucks, in my opinion at least. Maybe ad an option under the special settings tab? Gun position controlled by Track IR / Mouse. And let user select preference?

Ok, got a question about what is possible whit the autoexec.cfg file located in the saved games folder. It can override settings like for example max fps to do this you would use; options.graphics.maxfps = 30Now i have a file in a different location, being /scripts/database Any change i can use the autoexec.cfg file to insert a line into the db_countries.lua file for example? Or to make sure a line i added in it does not get deleted due to an auto-update? Hope you guys know what i mean, thank's for the help.

Rearming/Refueling turns off the HUD
159th_Falcon replied to MonsterZero's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Make sure your lined up properly on landing so you don't need big rudder inputs on the ground to stay on the runway. That's all there is to it. As for braking, may i suggest using the SU-25's (and T) drogue chute? ( P should be the key for it ) -

159th_Falcon replied to Deck's topic in Mission Editor
Deck, this is an awesome little mission and a nice script. I have a question though. Am i correct in assuming i can delete EVERYTHING in the mission file except the trigger zone's and the script will still work? How can i make the script work the Russian Huey's? Am i free to move the trigger zone's and change there size? And lastly, how would i go about changing the units that spawn from the helicopter to RUS infantry. (AK47, RPG, IGLA Manpads etc) Please note, i have ZERO coding experience. Did try and look at your script though but i have no clue what all function's do and don't wanna break it. -
How to gain more attention to DCS
159th_Falcon replied to MemphisBelle's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
It isn't???? -
Not quite sure what you guys mean, but did you try the repair function? For windows Vista and later go to; Start, All Programs, Eagle Dynamics, DCS World Repair DCS World.exe (right click, Run as Administrator) Worth a try i guess.

In that case i am VERY curious on there thinking behind it. And if there gonna fix it for the final release, which they should. IMHO ***EDIT*** From manual page 132; When firing the M134 miniguns in STOW mode or 2.75 rockets while continuing to manually fly the helicopter, a slight recoil force (70 kg) will produce a pitching down tendency. For long bursts, anticipate the recoil by aiming 0,5..1 pipper widths ABOVE the target. So the same recoil force affects both the miniguns and the rocket pods. Though in the simulation the recoil of the miniguns is not or barely noticeable. And that's all mentioned about it in the manual. Anyone from Belsimtek can clarify things? Please...

Its quite easy, rocket recoill is a bug, and should be resolved / changed. I simply refuse to believe that a pair of rockets can initiate a several degree pitch change by firing them. Don't forget there trying to move a helicopter that weights multiple tons. Then there is the fact that the rocket pods are open on both sides, so the propellant from the rocket is not hitting any significant surface that would then create a force on the helicopters airframe. The only thing transmitting any kind of force from the rocket motor to the airframe would be whatever device is holding the rocket in place during flight. This device would obviously be designed to fail/move out of the way when the motor ignites. So, what's causing this sudden and violent change in pitch? And what's the reason we don't see it on the blackshark? which can fire far bigger rockets. Would be nice if someone from belsimtek could jump in and explain a thing or two.

Yep, server actually overwrites pretty much all settings. Including ones for terrain, tool tips, radio assists, outside views etc etc.

All we can do is wait and see. ED is still discussing internally. I suggested to include it for free for FC3 owners cause most of them already paid for the game 4 times. (FC1, FC2, FC3 and ofcourse you need lock-on) It will also avoid having 2 different flight models ingame that mission editors would have to include. And then you also need different designation for the AFM and NON AFM F15 and SU27. We will see what ED comes up whit though, cause in the end, its there decision. (probably a good thing to, however strange that may sound)

Product Type Survey (forum vote)
159th_Falcon replied to TimeKilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
This poll is missing an option; I like both about the same. Or something similar. -
Nonono, you got it all wrong. ED should focus on getting carrier ops right for the SU33 first so as to pave the way for the upcoming F18.:joystick:

Another thread from a potential buyer
159th_Falcon replied to Dagger71's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Some answers, remember though its rather personal so someone else could say the complete opposite; 1, No, no need to waste your time on E or H if all you really want is Q. Its not that hard, unless you want to master it within a day or two. (referring to the DCS modules, KA-50, A10-C, P-51D and UH-1H) 2, Flying is flying, keep your speed up to be able to manouver/climb, keep the Alpha low to avoid a stall etc etc, all the basics are still the same. The DCS aircraft do feel quite different though, but i wouldn't wanna say there harder to fly. 3, it can get VERY dynamic, then again a lot depends on how the mission was made and how people are playing said mission. If it was made to be 10 RED vs 3 Blue +AI and you get 3 RED vs 3 Blue +AI pretty much nothing is left of the original mission. (shameless plug, the 159th GAR operates almost all aircraft as well as CA) 4, don't have it so cant really comment on this apart from the fact that you need the scratch pad every now and then to input stuff into the aircrafts computer. Like target co-ordinates for example. Or weapon profile parameters (automatic lasing, lasing time, profile name [assuming a10c here]) 5, absolutely no idea, sorry. -
While there at it, and no idea about the realism side of things here. But PLEASE provide an option to switch between manual and automatic waypoint switching. Highly annoying if your trying to find targets HDG/DISTANCE from a waypoint and the waypoint switches to the next because your within a certain range of said waypoint. As far as i know, this occurs in all FC3 airframes BTW. (also the SU-25T which apparently is not a part of flaming cliffs anymore, even though it was the aircraft originally introduced whit flaming cliffs)

SU-33 is the most awesome fighter ingame, ofcourse ED should update it.
-
Out of interest, was this single or multiplayer? And assuming latest version of DCS World?
-
See, aliens and there space-ships are real. ED even modeled them in there ultra realistic simulator so they have to be. We finally found our prove.:D

FC3 A10 is the A version whit old avinoics DCS A10 is the C version whit updated avionics Two totally different planes, and i guess that if you want to know the difference between DCS A10C and FC3 A10A one would be best off simply studying the differences between an A10C and an A10A. Then add the fact of clickable cockpit plus AFM for the A10C and you have your answer. (as for weapons employment, you could open up the mission editor, add a plane of each type, and see what weapons are available to each station.)
