Su-25T QuickStart Guide - Fly and Destroy in minutes
159th_Falcon replied to schkorpio's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Exellent, great work. May i suggest to make some small alterations though? Firstly, start whit starting the electric systems. (even before starting to rearm) A, these would be needed to operate radio's B, more importantly, the HSI and other avionics need some time to align before starting the engines. If you start engines immediately after starting the electric system you will get some quite anoying snags. (like HSI displaying a completely different heading then the HUD) Second, you mention the engines idle at 3500 rpm. Its not a biggie but the gauge indicates a percentage of the maximum engine RPM. 35% is idle. Could mean 20 000 RPM, could mean 24387 RPM. Other then that, awesome guide. EDIT just spotted something else, for landing i believe you need to press LShift F. This should bring the flaps down both stages, helping to also slow the plane down. -
To elaborate; Ship damage models are way off. Depending on launch latitude weapons don't do any damage to ship, or destroy it in one hit. (suggest trying to hit a Rezky or Grisha whit a 25ML from 200 meters ASL, 3000 meters ASL = only water splash, no dmg, and 6000 meters ASL or above.= direct hit as it should be) Fix the carriers collision model, ie planes falling trough the deck Fix flickering ILS Fix flickering of ship icons in F10 map view (multiplayer) Fix ships not visible for client A and B in multilayer but its there for clients C D and E Fix ship AI, mainly defenses on incoming missiles Fix planes/helicopters jumping around the deck if ship is moving and/or pitching/rolling. Fix the visual sea state to correspond whit the weather model. Currently you can see ship rolling/pitching several meters which is great. But the associated swells are not visible. Fix fog weather setting, or better yet calculate it. If you set fog to 200 meters orso you will see it even 100 km north of krasnodar. Theres not even rivers there. Fix target locking on naval targets. Currently sensors lock the sea below the vessel instead of the vessel itself. This makes low level attacks impossible. (sensors from planes like SU25T and A10C that is) And then there's probably a whole lot of other things severly wrong whit the naval side of things. So first fix the majority of the above, before breaking more stuff by adding new features. Thank you very much. Glad to see the naval side of things is getting some MUCH NEEDED attention. In this post is a video showing icon flickering on map and flickering ILS on kuznetsov. Please note that tracks are not included because most of the above is noticed in multiplayer and as such trackfiles are both to long and tend to be inaccurate. Replicating behavior in SP is not always possible.

It's not a bad missile. It's a bad understanding of said missile. May i suggest you do some research on Semi Active Radar Homing Missiles? (R-27R and R-27ER, ER is extended range version of the R) As well as so called "heat" seeking missiles? Which would be the R-27ET (Extended version of the 27R, but instead of semi active radar homing its an heatseeker) After that i would suggest doing some research on how to defeat said missiles, keywords for the radar variants would be Beaming, notching and chaff For the heat seekers it would be Flares, beaming Due to less then optimal implementation of seeker heads by ED and countermeasures like Chaff the 27R and 27ER are quite easily spoofed. Still, there quite usable. (aim120, aim7 and R77 suffer from the same effects)

As you will soon learn, the above ain't gonna happen. 50 if your really lucky. (well, can shoot from 80 ofcourse, just will never hit)

First off, started this new thread cause the other one seemed relatively dated and cluttered. When i assign a target to a group of infantry mixed whit mortars the game crashes the moment i click on a location on the map to set a target area. The mission is made in V1.2.4.xxxx Script is made in V1.2.4.xxxx and has worked flawlessly This behavior happens whit groups that where added to the mission using the script and F10 Radio commands. Script uses .addgroup function. Mission was running as an MP mission. Was setting the target as an pilot flying the Huey. See attached trackfile for details. CA MP Crash assign target.rar

So it kind of works like the system described below.:D Just thought it was fun to post and kind of related to the thread, no idea how the Mi-8's SAS works.

Sorry for the late reply, overlooked this thread. Personally, if you need to run it at minimum settings. I wouldn't buy any of the other modules. But that's just me. Specially cause you will probably struggle on the busier multiplayer missions. Also, even though Flaming Cliffs 2 is older then Flaming Cliffs 3, it doesn't necessarily mean it will run better on your system. So yeah, though one to give any solid advice, personally, i either wouldn't buy it, Or get a new PC, but then again, i'm a bit crazy.:pilotfly:

Quite the contrary, its bloody awesome. Especially in MP if you have a bunch of people in CA and pilots working together. Proper JTAC, troop insertion on request whit the Huey. Dynamicly setting artillery fire missions. Keeping the supply chain going.
-
Just view them in windows media player or the like instead of in game.
-
Actually, Viper, the biggest difference i can see that would be causing the stall is the fact the rudder is centered in the 2nd picture. Causing the plane to side slip. Stalling one wing, spin and die. Video is a good watch though. Already forgotten how to take-off in the bloody thing myself.
-
159th has a couple missions whit both CA and Aircraft. Also Huey's for troop insertion and extraction/re-location. Ill have to check what the mission names are though. (you can change the mission yourself once in the server by typing commands in chat.)

Best thing to do is download DCS World from here Install it and fly the FREE SU-25T around. Note framerates, adjust settings etc etc and see what you think of the performance. Most FC3 aircraft are quite similar to the free SU-25T in DCS World when it comes to the system resources they use. Make sure to decide before the 30th of june though, cause that's when the summer sale is ending. Well, don't HAVE to ofcourse, but would be a shame if you bought it just a couple days after the sale at full price instead of a 40% discount (FC3) or a 60% discount for other modules. ***EDIT*** Some graphic settings that have a big impact on fps; Water (set to LOW) Visib Range Heat Blur (experiment whit off and on) Mirrors cause huge fps drops (found under "options" and then the "gameplay" tab, right lower side of the window) Ress of cockpit displays. Set to 512 or 1024, CERTAINLY NOT THE "EVERY FRAME" ones. Tree and cockpit shadows can also cause big fps drops (tick boxes RH side) Clutter/bushes slider i recommend to set at 0 Trees slider also has big impact on FPS, but flying in a tree less world may not be to much fun. And then there's the more well known stuff like HDR, AA, MSAA etc etc Hope this helps. ~S~

Well then, if that's the case, imagine how soon the F-16 would have been shot whit a skilled pilot in the Rafale.:D

There is only one important rule to remember. That is the same for every fighter you will ever be flying. Make sure you have the advantage, if your in doubt, disengage. For the rest, practice, and research the different radar modes on the plane and what they are intended for. (can't explain cause i only fly the russian jets) PS, for the FC3 manual navigate to your DCS World installation direcotry and go to; ...\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Flaming Cliffs\Doc\DCS FC3 Flight Manual.pdf

Think your wrong here Chris, things like security aside, i think its perfectly possible for someone which can start up the DCS A-10C to start up the real thing. Weather he will be doing it in a safe and approved manner according to the procedures is a different thing.

Plans changed already? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBGLb98zkFQ 1:20 SU-27SM I bet that May 7th update is a typo and should read SM instead of S ***EDIT*** After actually looking at the may 7th update Wags only talks about SU-27 there. Neither S or SM is mentioned anywhere. ***EDIT2*** And in the DCS Newsletter March 2013 Groove specifically mentions the SU-27 SM.
-
In the hopes we forget about it so that when they release DCS SU-27SM they can release it again as an "new feature" :music_whistling: (EOS vertical scan) Problem is, the fast majority of the people will believe them, cause they don't know the roots of DCS. We, and i mean the people here on the forums do know, but are only a minuscule percentage of ED's customers base and can as such be ignored when it suits them best.

Hmmm A computer that would not be able to simulate a computer generated voice. :megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol:
-
Now that IS some VERY useful information. So even though there is no hold fire command as such, i could always disable all weapons on a given unit. Thank's alot.
-
:megalol::megalol::megalol: Definitely some truth to that. Would be a boring place here without it though.:D
-
Ok, all sorted then. The AP flies towards your current target in level flight at the altitude you engaged the AP on. (within a given tolerance ofcourse)
-
Just being critical, that's all there is to it. And if it really is possible, then by all means let it succeed. One thing i find quite brave is to already call out an Beta release for coming April. (or was it Alpha?)

Deleted, was to slow replying.
