  1. For the Bodnar boards have a look here; http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=94&zenid=56b08f21b250f8b60f631442759bc598 Basicly they are joystick controllers without any hardware attached. This allows you to connect push buttons, switches, potentiometers (as axis i believe) to it yourself. Which you can then bind ingame like a regular joystick. Some DIY handywork is required though. Have a look here to see the possibilities of stuff like this, and hope you don't get infected whit the simpit virus yourself.:D http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=101 About the joystick's, i have had my X52 since Black Shark first came out and still working as new. Never did any real maintenance on it. And i think its fair to expect the same thing from other joysticks, specially the HOTAS Warthog whit its rather hefty price tag. (Hands On Throttle And Stick)
  2. Some pointers on flying the SU-25T, For take-off set flaps one notch down Start pulling the stick at about 270 to 290 km/h (russian birds use the metric system) From 300 to 330 km/h you should start getting airborne, once you notice you are climbing retract the gear, retract flaps at around 400 km/h. For normal flight i consider it a good thing to have my airspeed between 500 and 700 km/h, depending on load out. Try not to drop below 450 km/h during manouvres For landing slow down to about 400 km/h and set flaps one notch down. Keep slowing down and align whit the runway, give yourself plenty of distance to line up in the beginning. At around 350 km/h deploy landing gear and set flaps to the full down position. Keep slowing down to about 300 km/h, just before you are over the runway start slowing down again, keep moving the throttle back gradually until your in idle, at this point you should be about to touch down whit an airspeed of between 270 to 290 km/h. The SU-25T has parachutes in the back to help slow you down. Make sure to have your throttle at idle when you deploy them or they will be blown off. That's it pretty much. Also, all the above speeds are just rough indications, conditions may vary and whit that the speeds will to.
  3. Ill give a nod to our Resident mission makers.
  4. Not sure about the licensing of the A-10C but i do know that they typhoon is underway; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127100 First one under "DCS Jets" the * indicates that VEAO is under contract whit ED for this plane. (and others indicated by an *)
  5. Personally i've never been able to get the AWACS to respond in the MIG-21. Then again, i haven't read into the radio's of it so i may very well be doing something wrong. As far as i know though, if AWACS for the 21 is configured in our missions it should be on either channel 1 or 2 of your radio. (should be in the briefing)
  6. Don't forget the SU-33 and the upcoming F-18. Without a big map being carrier based is pretty much pointless.
  7. From the top of my head, the force required to move the collective of an AW139 up (or down) is around 3 pounds. This is measured at the centre of the handgrip. Also, to my knowledge there is not any kind of dampening device to prevent you from moving it at whatever speed you would desire. Same is true for other helicopters, probably including the Huey. Though, i never worked on it so cant say for sure. (there is an adjustable friction however, this allows the pilot to adjust the force required to move the collective or even completely lock it if he so wishes.)
  8. Awesome video, great trip down memory lane indeed.
  9. According ingame Encyclopedia; M1025 HMMWV (does not have weapons) Empty Weight: 2855 Kg Max Load: 1135 Kg Total: 3900 Kg M1043 HMMWV (1x 12.7mm M2 Machine gun) Empty Weight: 2855 Kg Max Load: 1135 Kg Total: 3900 Kg M1045 HMMWV TOW (1x TOW ATGM Launcher) Empty Weight: 2855 Kg Max Load: 1135 Kg Total: 3900 Kg UAZ-469 (unarmed jeep) Empty Weight: 1490 Kg Max Load: 695 Kg Max loaded weight: 2290 Kg VAZ-2109 (civil car) Weight: 900 Kg M1097 Avenger PMS (low level air defense system) Combat Weight: 3900 Kg ZU-23 (Short Range Air Defense Cannon) 950 KG according Wikipedia. Bit odd that all the humvee variants have the exact same all up weight, none the less they can be lifted by the MI-8 reliably. To be honest though, i think we need a MI-26 :music_whistling:
  10. Exactly, thanks for clarifying. Now lets hope ED and partners are following this and getting the idea.
  11. Hello everyone, As most of you will know, every plane in DCS has a fast amount of keyboard shortcuts to achieve different tasks. Which can be a bit of a nightmare to remember all of them. To make matters worse, different planes use different keybindings to achieve the same thing. Some examples; FC3 planes use `for multiplayer chat A-10C use tab for multiplayer chat FC3 planes use Lalt ' for rearming menu MIG 21 use . for rearming menu And if were going to compare this over all current planes in DCS I'm afraid the list is pretty much endless. As such, i think it would be great if ED AND 3TH PARTIES would agree on standard keybindings. So one key for multiplayer (team) chat One for the rearming menu One for the landing gear One for the flaps etc, etc etc. It's a lot of work to do now, for both developers and users alike, but once its done it will make live a LOT easier for everyone involved and make DCS also a lot more accessible for new players. Ever tried explaining to someone in multiplayer new to DCS that he has to use `for chat but after switching aircraft it becomes tab? Yeah.... right, and then the other controls...............
  12. Awesome video, cant wait for the sequel.
  13. Everytime the X52 is powered on, during startup of your PC or when plugging it in it performance a self calibration. If you happen to touch the stick and push it off-center when it does this you can get the issue you describe. Try unplugging the X52, center it, and plug it back in. Should solve the problem i think.
  14. Well, it IS BIG!
  15. I agree, some of the big ass planes would indeed be cool. Though due to the size limits of current and planned maps only of limited use. Then again, since when has that hold this community back? IL-76M and A-50 please.
  16. Both fought in 2001.:book: As for this whole thread, please close it already.
  17. A guess, it shows you the pressure altitude relative to the International Standard Atmosphere? So the picture would be showing the selected pressure altitude is about 260 meters above sea level.
  18. Ill be there, shame its planned on our regular squad night. Otherwise it probably would have been OK to use the 159th Dedi. I have a good connection myself so can host if needed, don't have any server tools installed though. Oh, and i'd prefer to fly a MI-8 transport. And thank's for the initiative Charly, sounds great.
  19. Would like one of those as well, but apparently there is a lot of discolouration in the corners of the screen? Still looking for a shop in NL that has them on display to check for myself.
  20. Either one of those, according to your own preference; Press the trimmer, make the turn, stabilize as you like and release the trimmer Make the turn, stabilize and then trim Trim in a number of stebs troughout the turn Though, in 99% of the real helicopters the first one would be the method used. Neither of them is wrong or right though, all have benefits and drawbacks because of simulation limitations.
  21. Almost, we need ingame VOIP tied to aircrafts radio's. (give FC3 aircraft a overlay simplified radio)
  22. Nice shots, was great fun as well. See you again soon, in the 21 preferably. BTW, the link in your Sig ain't working.
  23. Not really, Eurocopter uses metric units and plenty of planes can be configured on the fly to use metric units. That Imperial units are used is just something that was decided by whoever. And even in aviation, metric units are becoming more and more common because there easier to use. (this is mainly on the technical side of things at the moment though)
  24. Pretty straightforward mission. Though i really like the voice overs you did. Some suggestions; Load the airplane appropriately for the mission in this case 4 pylons whit bombs/rockets should suffice. S5 rockets work great against infantry and you carry 32 of them in a pod. No need for the LLTV (mercury) pod during broad daylight, its intended use is in Low Light Conditions. Its only a very short hop from base, 50% fuel should be more then enough. Consider making the target groups a bit larger, this way the cluster weapons you equipped can actually make use of the fact they cover a large area. All in all nice starting point for future mission's and looking forward to the next one.
