Buy on digitalcombatsimulator.com, activate on Steam?
159th_Falcon replied to Wizard1393's topic in Payment and Activation
Nope, but you will have to install the game normally and use the normal activation procedure to play it today. If you insist on activation trough steam then well, they can't activate a product they don't know you have bought so yes. You would have to wait. -
Years ago, it was done for real; for some reason the youtube tags are not working........

I don't hate google, i hate any company that try's to force me to do anything against my will. (google wanting you to merge accounts is an excellent example though)

Fun facts: the very cheapest airlines in the world
159th_Falcon replied to Lucas_From_Hell's topic in Chit-Chat
That's the very least of your worry's whit that company. Engineers that do the maintenance are forced to sign off rejected parts for service or its the end of there job.......... Problem is proving it to the authorities, cause on paper everything is fine. Paper doesn't fly though. -
Nope, the reaction on the kickstarter are though; this game looks really nice but the thing that i love (personaly) is the realism i mean in real air battles you have 2 or 4 missiles max and you have your 20mm for main weapon and it requires skills and i love thoose kind of dogfight Great game, i love how it's so hard to fly but so easy to kill someone :D JABHA_Creativity [auteur] 15 mei om 4:14nm For the PC, it has mouse control. It is nice to not have to move by using WASD or arrows. When flying, and direction changes are made, I feel like I am really flying. :megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol: better then stand up comedy.:D

Have tried it countless times, including online whit squad flights. We came to the conclusion that the rotor diameter is slightly larger then the gap from watching the F2 view. So unless something changed since a good few months ago, no its not possible. (with the KA-50, maybe Huey has smaller rotor diameter?)

Spot on.

Ill give you a hint, we never celebrate Christmas. Not with presents anyway.:D

Awesome, cant wait to give it a try. Wonder what scenario you guys are creating though, any hints?

Didn't you hear? Charlie testing is off until further notice. Apparently he has some kind of antibiotic resistant bacteria infection.

Actually there IS a huge difference between radar controlled units and the rest, here's the same numbers side by side. (note the number of zer0's) parameter ____Human___________automatic radar___________difference % azimuth ______0.01_____________0.001___________________163.6364% elevation _____0.001____________0.0007__________________35.2941% speedsensor __0.20_____________0.005___________________190.2439% stability ______0.003____________0.001___________________100% distance ______0.1_____________0.005____________________180.9524% percent difference between autocannons/mg's speed sensor 13.9535% stability 107.6923% Zer0's can be deceiving, especially decimal Zer0's.;)

Good question, it probably does if there is enough dust/sand in the air for that. Then again, that's likely also the reason why the system should be on during take-off/landing and ground or low level ops. Ones at cruise altitude you would in most places be in clean air and able to switch it off.
-
(system on the MI-8 MTV2, pretty sure the one of the KA-50 is similar though) The air inlet particle separator system protects the engine inlet during taxiing, takeoff, and landing at unimproved airstrips and in sand/dust areas. In addition the system provides electrical and bleed air anti-ice heating. The system mounts on the front of the engine, in place of the nose cone assembly. Each engine has an independent particle separator system. The system begins to operate when bleed air is supplied to the ejector by opening the flow control valve. The valve is controlled by the DUST PROT LEFT and DUST PROT RIGHT switches located on the Pilot-Navigator's Right Side Console. When the system is running, suction pulls contaminated air into the inlet duct passages (1). Centrifugal forces throw the dust particles toward the aft dome surface (2) where they are driven by the air flow through the separator baffles (4). The main portion of the air, with the dust removed, passes through the duct to the engine air inlet (3). The contaminated air (dust concentrate) is pulled into the dust ejector duct (5) and discharged overboard (6). taken from; https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/magnificent_eight/?PAGEN_2=4 happy reading :book:

advise a 'new guy' (aka... need new PC)
159th_Falcon replied to SDsc0rch's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Being an AMD fanboy, no nothing wrong whit AMD. Its just that INTEL runs DCS WAY better. As illustration, my previous setup was an AMD Phenom II at 3.4 GHZ and an AMD 6950 GFX. Both were maxed out at 25 fps average. I now have still the same gpu whit an I7 4770 at 3.4Ghz, still running only 30 fps average whit GFX card maxed out. Difference is though that the most loaded CPU core doesn't get above 40% orso. Hope this helps you. ***edit*** just looked up the 2600 cpu, but its more expensive then the 4770 by about 30 euro's average (at least in NL) See link for side by side comparison of the two CPU whit a load of benchmarks, site is in dutch but shouldn't be a problem. http://nl.hardware.info/vergelijkingstabel/producten/186072-114150 (make sure to scroll aaalllll the way down) -
Don't think it will be that long, they don't HAVE to release 1.2.9 before they can release 1.3.0 you know. They can just go straight to 1.3.0 if they feel its ready for the masses.
-
Just, as in recently? meaning that some form of an ALPHA is already accesible to ED testers? /rampant speculation mode off.
-
Thank's for the info guys, its all ok then. Just didn't want to mis out on the fun once the ALPHA version is there. As for them not meeting the kickstarter goals/timeline, only to be expected as they seemed very ambitious. ps, on the website you can select 6 planes to chose from, but i already have the P-51D. As i understand it i can transfer that license to someone else right?
-
Been away from the show for a long time, just found out how to access this part of the forum. Anyone able to tell when we get ALPHA access and how? ~S~ Falcon ps, if its already in a thread, this forum lacks stickies...:joystick:

How do we tell if our jamers are turned on in the su25t??
159th_Falcon replied to Raven434th's topic in Su-25T Issues
Its easy, on the RH panel is a green indicator lamp. Flashing means the jammer is warming up, burning steady is on, off means the jammer is off. ***edit*** just tested in game, seems like the indicator light is removed for whatever reason........ -
Try this, take some wood or metal sheet and shape it so it fits precisely in the cavity of the plastic part. Do this for both sides, then drill some holes trough and some kind of pin or wooden dovel to push trough it. Check if it all fits, then use a 2 component epoxy glue (like this) to glue it all together, should work. And if you make the sheets fit snug enough then this will transfer the actual forces, not the are where it is broken off. Hope you understand what i mean. if not i can try to draw something in paint.

Couple hours, or better said. As long as you need to set up the most basic controls and figure out how to fire the gun. Flying ain't that hard, pulling a trigger aint any harder. Some have said you need to get experience first, well flying online is the best way to gain that experience. Also, don't be shy on joining Team Speak servers, you will usually find people willing to help you along. (providing your asking specific question, not something like "how do i shoot planes") As for how long it will take for you to become a proficient and effective fighter pilot. No one knows really, time will tell.
