  1. I don't understand, can you explain? Nate
  2. I said exactly that in my post above. Unless your hardware matches the real thing, or is at least capable of the same stick throw, you will have to use Curves to calibrate and dampen your input to the sim. So your statement of "Does your stick, or calibration make any difference = NO" is not correct at all, it is in fact Vital. Understood, but you are not flying with the same physical stick that a real pilot does. You movements are amplified because your short stick range must be translated to much larger stick range in the aircraft. Nate
  3. Hmm, Uncalibrated I move my stick on my desk 1 inch to the left and I get, in sim, near full deflection to the left. If I move the stick once inch to the left, in the real aircraft, the stick moves one inch to the left. Same movement, very very different outcome, due to the lack of range and axis resolution in my joystick. Now, how do we bridge that gap? Nate
  4. They did, the model is accurate - adjust your curves in the options to match your Joysticks lack of precision.. Nate
  5. It does that when the FTP server is overloaded, try again later, or better yet use the torrent. Nate
  6. What was wrong with them? Nate
  7. Consider adjusting the input curves, it completely changes the feel and oversensitivity of your hardware and allows for fingertip control of the aircraft. Nate
  8. Memory usage is becoming more demanding as texture sizes have increased, for the newer models - 4gb is cutting it pretty close for DCS these days. Minimum Memory requirement is 6gb Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows Vista, 7 or 8; CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; RAM: 6 GB; Free hard disk space: 10 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9.0c - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation. Nate
  9. The Test team are all Volunteers. Nate
  10. EDIT - moved to other thread.
  11. This is intentional, and has been this way for about 10 years. Screen resolution however should not be enforced by the server. Nate
  12. I used to get horrible stutter viewing far away towns in the TGP - gone after moving DCS to an SSD. Nate
  13. It was thought it would be beneficial to the process. Nate
  14. The Purpose of the Open Beta isn't for your benefit - it is for aiding in testing. Nate
  15. You Guys have it lucky - I currently have 4 (sometimes more) installs to deal with :) Nate
  16. Does steam use the auto updater? I forget. Might be why it is done the way it is done. Nate
  17. Might be better that you start with a new "Clean" config, from a testing perpective. But you can copy settings from 1.2.6. Nate
  18. In order to participate in the Open Beta you must use the Open Beta Updater/installer, it will NOT touch your current 1.2.6 install. This is deliberate. The Open Beta is for Testing Purposes for those that are inclined to help. Nate
  19. Open Beta for 1.2.7 was only announced a few hours ago - it wasn't in the initial announcement :) Nate
  20. Because it's not ready? Nate
  21. You are not installing 1.2.7, you are installing 1.2.7 Beta Which is a completely separate install. When you update 1.2.6 to 1.2.7 release, you will need to do the above for the Huey. Nate
  22. Saved games\DCS.testing Nate
  23. Auto Pilot control inputs are not translated to the Pilot controls in either the sim or the real thing. The Pilot has no way of knowing how much input the Autopilot is currently providing to maintain the trimmed flight attitude. Nate
  24. 1 - Yes 2 - RALT and Numpad . 3 - No - press again to unlock padlock I think. Nate
