  3. Hi any chance of a carrier landable c2a greyhound? Ive tried mucking around with the e2d turning it into a c2 but the c2 keeps crashing through the deck. It flys like the e2 just would like it to land on a carrier. The ai can do it fine. cheers
  4. Hi During missions on an MP Server, from cold startup, I can easily get the ground crew to remove the wheel chocks. All good. When I go to replay the flight through the replay menu, the wheel chocks never get removed, the harrier starts up but stays in where it starts (Usually in a hangar). I can't film any flights with other aircraft. I have only tried this on a multiplayer server. The replay was my own computer not that of the MP server. Don't know if this has been reported or who to report it to (ie ED or Razbam or both) Frosty
  5. Hi All, I fly with SGray online. I have been working with sgray on the problem and found a solution. The offending items were 3 x AI F18A models. I replaced them with C models and no further crashes. Our mission was on the caucasus Map. PG and NTTR are fine
  6. Hi, There seems to be a problem with the Syria Map Airfield names on radio. I flew form a carrier into Haifa, when I called up ATC I was greeted with "Kransodar Arrival", I was passed to "Krasnodar Tower" final I have this on video Regards Frosty
  7. Hi, I do some videos with AI using the Stennis. I noticed the following during an empty deck test (trying to get aircraft to crowd the deck so the elevator 1 would work - as it has in the past). When AI aircraft reversed onto Elevator one: It would descend but leave the ai aircraft in midair. Once the elevator was down the aircraft would appear on the elevator and taxi into the hanger deck as per usual. The elevator would remain down with deck fencing up- the next ai aircraft to land would turn around to reverese and hit the fence and remain on deck. Any subsequent aircraft would go around when they turned final to call the ball or if the run low on fuel, land and despawn as soon as they are free of the arrestor wires, others just crashed. The elevator remains down even when the aircraft in the hanger despawned. The aircraft that was unable to reverse on to the elevator remains on deck and doesn't despawn. I am running the latest version of OB as at 0241z 08 May 2020 I was in single player mode Persian Gulf map I spawned 20 f18s individually via the mission editor (no scripts) and had then land on the boat. I spawned them in rows 10 rows of two using the F/A 18C model not the Lot 20. regards Cameron McAndrew
  8. I have noticed some changes around the carrier (Nothing FPS related). In some single player missions I created previously, static airmen were close to some aircraft, mimicing a shooter or waving a helo off, aircraft now spawned in different locations than where I had scripted them. When I moved the offending airmen to a safe distance they spawned where I scripted. In the F8 menu for ground crew are the Salut and Request launch options functional. I can still take off without them. Just asking Frosty

  10. My suggestion to ED is under promise then over deliver. remove any time frames. Tell us when it is ready to go not nearly ready.
  11. Welcome to Crash Test Chronicles. I have a youtube clip demonstrating the different issues with CAT 3 and a potential work around until it is fixed. To sum up. It appears that when you first connect to the mission you can single tap 'u' to connect to the CAT and you may not get thrown off the deck. This video showed that you you could connect and all was good. If you have trapped and are taxiing to a CAT for a new Launch, I would recommend that you dial in the tower frequency request parking, you will then, probably, be given approval to take off from runway.....". When you get to the CAT, Lower the launch bar and double tap 'u', If you get a message saying taxi to parking, all is good, single tap 'u' and connect to the CAT. If you don't get any message or movement, do not attempt to connect to the CAT you are most likely to be tossed across the deck. Taxi around and try again.

  13. I've tested this for hours on CAT 3. You may or may not have to contact the tower (still testing that one although I suspect you don't have to). When you approach the CAT and drop your Launch Bar - Double Tap 'U', You will probably get a message saying taxy to parking (ignore), Single Tap 'u" and the Blast shield should raise and you should be connected to the CAT. I have found a single Tap 'u' first up will result in a deck toss.
  14. Did some testing on CAT 3 tonight. I have my log file and I can get the replay if you want them. This is what I did and what I observed. Flying F18 Hornet On the first two tests - I did not dial in or contact the Stennis Tower. But taxied direct to CAT 3. On the way I would recieve the f10 menu - items Request Take off & Abort Takeoff. I did not enter either. Once over CAT 3, lowered launch bar, single tap of 'U' key (My keyboard bind for connect to Catapult). Deck Toss both times. Test 3 - Dialed in Stennis ATC - requested Launch, taxied to CAT 3, single tap of 'U' to connect, Deck Toss. This occured on the VUSN multiplayer server. I then shifted to single player mission for aircraft with hotstart to reduce start up time in the event of deck toss. Test 4 - Stennis - Hornet Hot Start. Dialed in an contacted Stennis Tower requesting take off. Taxied to CAT 3 from Elevator 2. Lowered Launch Bar, Double Tapped 'u', message saying take off aborted taxi to parking. Double Tapped again, message saying take off aborted taxi to parking, Then single tap 'u', blast shield up and hornet connected to catapult. I, selected abort take off from f10 menu, and went to raise the launch bar. This did not happen visually, the hornet had the launch bar down, but the cockpit toggle showed up. The blast shield was down. I ran up the engines to 60% no movement, still connected. Went to full power and cat launch. Test 5 Same as test 4 but did not attempt to abort launch once connected to catapult, launched as per normal, but crashed into a static aircraft during bolter - my fault.   15. Fly what ever you like. I fly the harrier a lot. My suggestion with the harrier is learn to fly the airframe because if you can't, features or no features, you are going to die a lot. You can take off and land - rolling or vertical, strafe targets, shoot missiles, and drop bombs. It will take you some time to master any DCS aircraft complete or no.
  16. I love flying the harrier, I have been able to spawn on the Tarawa and take off for nearly a year now on a multiplayer server. There was a painless workaround that is now fixed with the last patch I don't have any issues with the Harrier. I can taxi, takeoff, shoot things, blow things up, I land, Rolling or Vertical (suit yourself), I can even fly backwards (Bet a hornet cant do that unless its falling out of the sky - I have done that).
  17. Sorry for the waffle, but reflecting on the bug. It appears if the BDS is raised and you are not connected to the catapult, then you may get thrown off the deck on CATs 3 & 4. My understanding is that when you connect to the cat, the BDS raises at the same time or Lowers if you disconnect. ATC raised a BDS before I had even decided which CAT to take and was no where near one. Just a thought. Big Newy - let me know if you want the logs and replay files
  18. Just retested again after this mornings efforts. I had a squadron mate flying and taxiing on Deck. Please bear with me while I outline what we did because I think I found something. I found that connecting to Cat will work however there appears to be a bug around CATs 3&4. On separate occasions we both got thrown off the deck or over it. We were contacting ATC requesting take off etc. Then I found this. I took off cat 4, landed. Then requested engine restart as it was the only option it ATC F10 menu. I taxied to parking near the bridge on the carrier. I requested take off and taxied to the fantail to turn around for CAT 3. Permission was granted and gave QFE. As I turned around to line up, I noticed the Deflector Shield was up for CAT 3. So I taxied near the blast shield, no where near the shuttle and on a hunch attempted to connect to the shuttle, expecting it would not due to distance, and expecting something else as well. Tapped 'U' to connect and yeehaa, I got thrown over the deck. Some thing to look at???. I Have the log, I will check the replay as it was on the boat and I had done a couple of patterns, I may not make it that far in the video. I have asked my colleague for his replay so it may be on there Again flying on VUSN multiplayer server
  19. Not a rant. All the solutions I tried last week did not work this morning. Here is some footage of this mornings test. Taxied to Cat 3 attempted to connect to catapult - I did not dial in tower frequency. I accidently hit F2 aborting take off before connecting but tower frequency was not dialed in. Taxied to Cat 3, dialed in tower frequency - requested take off, no reply at all. I have the track file (video taken from that), I also have the log file but wont post that publicly The flight was conducted on the VUSN multiplayer server

  21. A Squadron member and I took a flight. No moving rotor, and the skids disappeared upon take off. We had a blast. We loved it. We know you will get around to fixing thing etc etc. It was fun. It will only get better from here.
  22. I find the same problem carrier and land based for the AV-8B. Need to turn the engine off - before refuelling or rearming now.

  24. Here’s a tacview of both incidents scroll to the end of the video. It seems to have resolved for me. But seems you need to be a little more precise when aligning with the cat.
