  1. I also recommend semi. You need only to start the automatically selected program execution. If you wnat- there is a chart in the manual outlining the pre-loaded CMS programs that you can manually select. It also explains how to customize them yourself.
  2. You're not waiting long enough. Try this startup procedure. Just my variant among others. I tried to list items in a timeline that accounts for items that need time to "boot up" so to speak.. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OofEfpi9kHG_jmvT8Z3BXrgOD9AZzJrLgKAI-yF0-Q4/edit?hl=en&authkey=CI-D4mY#
  3. There seemed to be some color in that WHOT display.. near the end of the clip.. Green treetops or vegetation... That a Sniper TGP? I would have to say that WHOT in DCS seems a slightly whitewashed more often than not.. but yes it is close.
  4. Personally-I think it's a mistake to create a profile based purely on the key commands. The procedures are such that you should make every attempt to create a profile that matches the true to life A10 as closely as possible. In other words- get "V" "ctrl Down", "ralt up" and all that crap out of your mind and start thinking in real life terms: CHINA HAT FWD LONG CHINA HAT AFT LONG If you have an X52- which is SEVERELY LACKING in Hat Switches- I would suggest making your pinky lever a SHIFT and mapping dual HAT functions to 1 HAT. For example: Take that main HAT on your stick, and map that one out as "trim" in the normal state. (pinky lever not involved) In the SHIFTED state- map it out as a DMS or a TMS. Basically you combine the TRIM, TMS, DMS, CMS into 2 physical HATS in whatever combination you want- but I suggest you map the 2 most commonly used ones as the unshifted function. I'd also recommend that you do all this button programming in the Saitek software. Don't use DCS except for axis programming.
  5. I'm hoping that this might go slightly different being that this is not a TMWH like yours...:dunno:
  6. Alright. Test this: Go to controls page: Now- make sure your pull down menus match mine (Sim/ axis) Click one of the lines UNDER YOUR STICK's column- even if it's empty. This should "light up" the top of the column where your stick's name is.--- It is there right? Take a screenshot plz so we can see what is listed. Then click on "clear category" and confirm. Although I doubt this matters- do it anyway- Exit and come back to the page. Select the same things- but go ahead and map out the PITCH, ROLL, RUDDER, & THROTTLE BOTH to your controller. Click OK to save and tell us what happens.
  7. SST is the software you use to make stick profiles- to assign functions to the buttons & switches. Hang on.. brb..
  8. Did you patch DCS yet? By the way- my recommendation is that you do not use DCS to program your buttons- only the axis. Use SST for your buttons.
  9. Clear the function before trying to assign a new one. It's in the FAQ.
  10. I will see. I haven't looked at that.
  11. I find it a bit curious that when there are say.. 4 MAV D's (2 per side) that when the profile is selected the DSMS does not select a weapon from alternating sides for aircraft balance.. I guess I'm reading too much into this from my years in the Tfrog- that thing tipped pretty easily after a launch..
  12. Only caveat to this is whther or not you intend to refuel/ rearm and take off again. Then you need to be in one of the "magic boxes"
  13. I never owned Black Shark- haven't flown a virtual chopper since Nova's Comanche, lol... That said- I cannot imagine flying a chopper without pedals. A jet without pedals is almost as bad as far as I'm concerned... Ground steering, toe brakes, takeoff runs.. I gotta have em personally. WH, CH do not incorporate a rudder control on the stick- nor should they.
  14. I would say that the WH would maintain much of it's usefulness across several other platforms. But there will be a few critical differences. For example- if the next DCS plane were a F16- there would be differences in the throttle switches. IIRC there are a couple of rotary controls, and no "china hat"..probably others. The stick is more or less identical to an F16. If there were a "DCS F15"- you'd be programming the WH to fit much like you would program a CH setup, etc. Same applies to a "DCS F18" which is different still, and most other potential platforms.. THEREFORE buying a WH would come down to the quality of the programming software when you begin to apply it to other titles. To me- CH is untouchable in this regard.
  15. GG I *think* this guy is a LOMAC flyer.. (this is the lock on forum section.. whew... dusty in here... :D ) Nevertheless- GG is correct that if you plan on getting into the DCS Warthog simulation- the TMWH is most ideal for overall control. Followed closely by the CH line, then perhaps a distant 3rd- the Saitek X65 I think it's called... The X52/ x52pro can be used in DCS. However- its seriously lacking in HAT switches. This means that profiles have to be carefully crafted and will be more complex to use than if you had enough HATS to program a proper layout in the first place. Still-people make it work- I reckon you get used to it after some use. In short- think about not only what you're flying right now- but what else you plan on flying. You may want your stick to have room to grow beyond LOMAC.
  16. Time marches on. So does hardware. People who write software cannot accommodate everyone.
  17. hee hee... this might be a "submit your caption" photo..
  18. Batumi / or the avionics modeling Batumi was bugged in beta.. might still be. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=64672&highlight=batumi Actual heading is 130.7 (!) http://worldaerodata.com/wad.cgi?runway=GG0000731
  19. It's [heading] for [##] of naut miles. They basically clear you to descend to "pattern altitude" in the call. No point to tell you that, then give you a number referring to a specific altitude.. But I bet what we hear is dramatically simplified from real just the same..
  20. You're not doing anything out of the ordinary in my eyes... From what I've seen- the ATC guy seems to be directing inbound planes to an approach point- not directly to the airport..
  21. Make sure the "trap" box is checked.
  22. I would suggest- if practical- to merge DCS A10 into one forum with tech support categories. It kind of already is from this perspective: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=114 but from here- it basically looks like you have 2 separate GD sections to manage.. http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=71
  23. +1 if it will let me........ OK I owe you one..
  24. Gimme a hint MTF
