  1. The damage they cause in real life is a lot more than what you can see in DCS.. You won't see the bashed in metal from shrapnel, busted windows, etc.. Vehicles on fire- but not totally immobile.. Vehicles immobile- but not on fire.. ED can't model the hundreds of damage variables that a grenade with it's azz on fire can potentially cause.
  2. I set the profile to RPL SGL QTY: 3 I'm not sure why.... they are OK for vehicles, but I would agree that one would expect a little more fragmentation, etc. It was recently pointed out to me that damaged vehicles have some modeled behavior, but it would not be visually obvious. The following is an intentional hint to ED- disguised as innocent discussion. Shhh. : Lets say- if you engaged a BMP with an GBU12. 20-30 meters behind him Vladmir is driving the fuel truck. One hand on the wheel, one hand on a 1/5 of Stolichnaya. The force of the explosion in such a close proximity would have quite a detrimental effect on Vlad, his truck, and his drink.. Could be busted out windows. Literally blowing it off the road- as in flying through the air or rolling over several times. Chunks of searing hot shrapnel could easily cause the truck to explode itself, obviously. But do this exact thing in DCS- that fuel truck will scatter off the road- but that's about it. Just the limitations of what they have right now. Might be too complex to code, might simply not have the time needed..
  3. Well- they ain't that fat for the most part.. An they usually get hotter girlz :D
  4. I was going to say.. damn... what kinda bomb was THAT?
  5. Timing those sprayers might polish up your CCIP skilz..
  6. I can help too if you like. Savage TS info: http://www.s77th.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1666
  7. LOL I did the same thing- entered a few random url's like that for the hell of it.. Saw that... wtf? Dude doesn't look like a pilot..
  8. briefing available in the cockpit.. nice touch.
  9. One thing that stood out- can't hurt: In the GBU 12 profile page- change the HUD display to CCRP. It's CCIP by default. Also- you switched to an external view- so I can't see what happened with the laser. Keep in mind that the external view of falling GBU-12 is porked- at least in multiplayer.. Not sure if that's related. It would be nice if you set up this run further back so one can can confirm you have set the ship as your SPI (HUD symbol), and zooming in on the DSMS when you are messing with it, so we can see what you're doing.
  10. A10 is slow- that's why it doesn't drop until almost overhead. Based on your post- not watching the track, yet: It appears to me that you are setting up the POINT track, and designating it as SPI. When the TTRN starts to drop- you are holding the WEP RLS until LGB is clear- You MUST be doing something wrong with the laser. I'll guess that you did patch, yes? There were issues with the LGB's.. but I'm not certain it's the same as you are describing... Going to load the track....
  11. Yeah throttle is more of a universal type design. Not really modeled after anything specific. Just a helluva lotta controls. Specifically for DCS A10- it's lacking Split throttles, an "authentic" china hat, boat switch, speedbrake switch. These items all EASILY accounted for- very sensibly. The fighterstick is pretty close to authentic to A10 and F16. It lacks a 2 step trigger, and there is no "Press" function to the CMS button for jammers. Pedals- functional, sturdy, and reliable. That's about it. Ain't pretty. At all. All 3 primary pieces are pretty light to the touch. Not much resistance. Personally- it doesn't bug me at all. I don;t know of any owners off the top that find this to be a bother. If I could afford a TMWH- I would get it. Can't touch that throttle setup. If they are serious about quality & support-(this has NOT been consistent over the years) one HELL of a nice gadget. Downers? Well not a lot really unless you consider it's authenticity a weakness when new modules arrive... i.e. do I buy TM's new F18 HOTAS, or F15 HOTAS.. whatever.. These 3 HOTAS don't look the same at all.. but the A10 and F16 Stick are almost identical.. 9 hats includes the mouse stick/ POV whatever they call it.
  12. This does not prove it- it's just a helluva good find..
  13. And you would be setting this at the "transition" level- if it were correctly modeled?
  14. try lockonfiles.com
  15. HB Cali
  16. LOL I finally found em. I went to new page first -which is empty- as you said..
  17. Thanks, man. whoops- look like they are changing things around a bit
  18. Calm down- let's not go overboard.. but still VERY Intriguing..
  19. Kasper- are they still there? If so- Where? I looked for those a while back- never saw em.
  20. BRILLIANT!
  21. and it's still cheaper- even with rudders. At least- here in the US. Saitek X65 from Amazon Yes- the X65 does have a force sensing twist rudder.
  22. I never once observed a VTOL takeoff that I can remember... Landing- they always came in from the side and hovered over the spot.. some making contact with the deck a little more "firmly" than others... (Enough to draw OOooUCH from the guys on watch on the bridge) Landing took longer than I expected the first time I saw it- but I have no idea if the guy was a nugget, or rusty, or what have you..
  23. I was on board that same ship- at the same time as Total- The Conn and I were discussing the Harrier, when I mentioned it's relative slowness.. Capt. Henke.. (Hanke?) chimed in and says, "Well it'll do 500kts.. can you? Start running, Boats... :D Anyway- I have a love-hate relationship with the Harrier.. I learned to appreciate it working so close to them, but learned to hate the FRICKIN NOISE.. OMFG they are loud.. Picture yourself on the Focs'l (Forecastle-front anchor windlass & mooring stations) It's a peaceful day at sea... big 849 footer slowly rising and falling with the sea.. dolphins surfing the bow- wave... when you feel a slight tremor.... rummmmmmmmble WHAM!!!!! Ear Piercing echo comes rushing in through the 4 mooring line eyes-- reverberating back & forth throughout the large steel room... After the first few times, you stop filling your underwear & become more tuned in to that 3 or 4 second rumble... You damn jarheads!!!! :D
