  1. https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0BzkMgHDjxmCXODdkYzIyNzYtZjZiYi00ZGJlLWFiNTYtMTYzMzAyODNjZTdl&hl=en&authkey=CPrpiZMO&pli=1 If that link doesn't work- blame it on Apple & itouch... Forum post: http://s77th.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1683
  2. Can ED elaborate on the logbook Tweet? Specifically- MP time and events logging?
  3. It was confirmed here- http://www.gamingshogun.com/Article/8965/DCS__A-10C_Warthog_Review_-_PC.html Besides... What else would it be? This "lack of confirmation" was a pointless exercise in hair-splitting since Jim Mack's interview came out. Eagle does not have to release a sim for every plane they create training software for. The contracts drive ED's business- but the other bits need to be in place (including marketplace demand) for it to come our way..
  4. Often- It's just a matter of joining a squadron's teamspeak server. You'll find the TS info in the server's mission briefings or the description line. If no one's on- just hang out on the TS while you fly or whatever and when someone joins up- ask them if they are able and willing to help you out. I think people will help more often than not- as everyone here is weak in at least one area of the Hawg's operation.
  5. As of this post- it is down for me too. They'll be back. Server moves are seldom seamless..
  6. Yes- it's because your messing with things without knowing what you're doing. Trying to program buttons using both DCS and control manager is likely to lead to multiple conflicts. You go ahead and do it your way...
  7. yeah- basically what Jessi said. I don't own a WH- but if 1 of your engines is trying to spool upon powering the APU than it seems to me that your stick is not over the detent (hump) or has malfunctioned in a manner that this is the result. I will assume- due to ignorance- that TARGET has a calibration function and that this is in good order?
  8. Probably Groove or Evil-B. I'm not sure that the mods have those types of user rights..
  9. Admin has to do it for you- in order to maintain stats anyway..
  10. Happy Birthday...
  11. OK Erich- if you have no left throttle movement than you have mapped the wrong throttle axis. There are 3 choices: Left , right, & both. You need to map JOY_Z to BOTH.. Nosewheel steering should work fine as it is- but if it's not responding- there are 2 possible solutions. Solution 1 is if the button responds poorly/ intermittently. Without messing with the assignment- Activate my map in CH manager. Then click on the tab that says "program settings". (looks just like the other device tabs) Set the character rate down a little bit like 47. Save/ and hit the download button again. Test it. See if it responds better. Solution 2- never works. Clear the function, and reassign it with the keystroke recorder. Again- going back to your other comment. I would advise against messing with those primary HAT functions. Reversing the trim & Boat/ China Hat functions serves no purpose- but that's up to you.
  12. Looks like you have it cleared up.. but FWIW- Always put your CH gear in mapped mode (load a map) before attempting to assign axis in game.
  13. Well a full set of CH gear is light years ahead of and is less $ than these 2 choices in most parts of the world.. So if that applies to your neighborhood- it's a no-brainer.
  14. Oh I remember alright. CH Manager was a terrific source of frustration for me too. But stick with it. Don't take on too much at once. You know - I had one bright idea to practice with. Try this: Copy the 2 files I gave you- the dcs_a10.map & the dcs_a10.cms to your desktop. Then rename them both "tester" or something else and put them back into CH Manager- right where you copied mine from. You will now have a map that you can mess around with as much as you like- figure stuff out, screw it up, etc etc.. while keeping the other profile safe for use. Now- I will say you probably shouldn't mess with the Primary HATS- The TMS, TRIM, DMS, CMS, COOLIE, CHINA/BOAT. Those are best left alone. But the 3 Throttle buttons and the 2 other HATS on the throttle- (the HATS where ZOOM view and the gear/ flaps are currently assigned) There are things you can do with those that you might like better..
  15. Looks like you got your answers, Erich. CM is your friend. It's not super intuitive to a new user, but if you persist at it, you'll be much happier very soon. I'm still not sure what the actual problem is, but it has to be: A: You're trying to modify certain commands, and these changes are not taking. This is on you Erich- there's all kinds of references on how to use CM. I already have a radio snap view in mine. All you do to assign it is select the Hat, pick the direction you want it assigned to, right click the box (under regular or shifted) and select the keystroke recorder. Wit keystroke recorder open- press the key or combo of keys- no need to hold them down for 3 seconds or whatever. All you need is for it to show up- click exit- done. If the problem is that you're running my profile, and the stick is screwing up in game- then you either have a conflict, or need to calibrate. Conflicts arise from failing to delete the preassigned functions that DCS attempts to assign to the axis & buttons of all controllers. If the stick is responding, but poorly, or not to your liking- then you need to calibrate, or make in game adjustments to the axis.. Controllers will get out of whack when you unplug them- so avoid this if possible. Calibrate in direct mode ONLY in CH manager. The printable layouts for my setup are right there in my forum picture albums. Just click my name to the left here and select public profile.
  16. Yeah-I don't think the DCS Flir is very good at all either. The trees in that shot are all over the thermal map.. I find it quite difficult to find much of anything at ranges usefully better than CCD. However- I hear them saying that there's not much more they can do within the confines of the engine or whatever.. So.. like it or not.. that's what we have for now. Take solace in the knowledge that ED has a history of unexpectedly exceeding expectations more often than not- and their very public standards for DCS don't leave a lot to compromise so... logic dictates that something like this will not be ignored any longer than the limitations require.
  17. Get a #5 for sure.. My first was a TiR 2 Pro.. Still have it, actually. $20 if anyone wants it... :)
  18. Hey- I hear you about spending more $ on pedals- but I thought you should know that you can get some proper pedals DIRT CHEAP here: http://www.provantage.com/ch-300-111atw~7CHPU00X.htm That's about $40 less than what I paid from the same site 3 years ago.
  19. Updated my Ramp Start Checklist with more detail- but elected to condense a few steps in order to keep it on one sheet. Examples: Radio channel selections & Pwr (TR) Squelch checks Yaw & Pitch SAS ...were all condensed to their applicable single lines https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OofEfpi9kHG_jmvT8Z3BXrgOD9AZzJrLgKAI-yF0-Q4/edit?hl=en&authkey=CI-D4mY#
  20. dump that one in your folder and see if you like it. If you do- use that one.
  21. Assuming you have already run the "game updates" button that comes up in the TRACK IR UI- you need to select (or create) the profile you want- then click the "exclusive" box. Here's my profile: I use number pad 5 for centering- other hotkey functions are disabled. https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0BzkMgHDjxmCXYzk0N2E4N2EtODVkMS00YmUxLWEyMjUtMzM4Nzk1OGMyNWJk&hl=en&authkey=CJCBkPwL
  22. Well.. the hole is similar.. His port- side gear housing/shield still has it's front cover. Not to mention he has at least 1 more wing than the other one..
