OMG FC 1.1 im in shock!!
SAM-Smasher replied to SAM-Smasher's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
LOL normally I am too busy flying it, but im at work so I have some time to shout about it :) -
I dont recommend it, but I used Loman 2.1 to whack up the loading distance of objects and textures, not sure how it works with the rest of the settings. If doing this screws up your FC 1.1 dont scream at me, im not recommending it, im just saying I HAVE done so. ;)

I had ordered the CD, havent got it yet, so last night I downloaded it, so now I have two copies incase something goes wrong :) Anyway I want to say a big thank you to ED for all the hard work you have put in with this addon, I am REALLY impressed, I have the original version up to 1.02 and in FC 1.1 the simulation now feels much better, the radars, the HUD avionics, the AI etc etc! I have only started the SU-27 "Hot Wind" ( sorry that title is a killer lol ) campaign on mission 4 I think, and the initial impression I have is very good, its detailed there is lots of background information associated with each stage, and you have a clear idea of what is expected of you in each mission and WHY you are doing it :) great immersion! Another thing is I seem to have gained a massive performance boost with 1.1, im getting around 43FPS in combat at 1600x1200 4xAA 8xAF all settings whacked at max except water and scene file at Medium using a Gigabyte ATI Radeon X800XT PE 256mb vid card and 2 Gig of RAM. Was there any working of the code to increase performance at all, because this is brilliant!! I am DEFINATLEY hanging on for 1.2 and I WILL buy it :) your work is much appreciated please continue, your time is not wasted ED. Anyone else as happy as me? or am I just being a grubby little fanboy ;)

OT: The "why-do-you-have-that-nick-tread"!
SAM-Smasher replied to Pilotasso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Mine is quite simple and does explain in my sig. But the reason I have named myself that, is because I have always been excellent at striking SAM sites in flight sims, and ithe one thing I enjoy most is a good old SAM hunt. Another point to make is I like to knock out SAM sites.. because it shuts the damn RWR up ;) I have a tendancy sometimes to toy with them like a cat before striking, but that is probably more tactic than play :), the smoke tells alot about where a SAM launcher resides (obviously!) This is my nick, and daft as it may sound it is the truth and I offer nothing else ;) -
Yes I was very concerned that the work I was undertaking on my MiG29 campaign would not work properly with the new 1.1 when I finally get hold of it. So I stopped work after the first mission, and considering there is a mix of AA and AG engagements planned for the campaign I didnt want to risk coming across an irreversable error of bug. Since is the first campaign I intend to release to anyone, or file for that matter EVER! I wanted it to be right and bug free :) Since I have stopped working I may as well wait for the 1.1 addon to drop through my letterbox. Thanks for your advice here Zoomboy, if I encounter any problems when creating my campaign, may I ask for some answers or suggestions if I need it? :)
-
Wow great job zoomboy!! already for when I get my copy of 1.1 through the post!! nice work!! Have postponed my MiG29 campaign for 1.1 didnt see the point incase there are compatibility issues :(

When will i be able to download the game ?

I think we still need to be grateful that ED did actually make an English boxed version, dont forget they were not even going to bother ;) -
1.1- Landing an F-18c on the CVN-70 problems
SAM-Smasher replied to Bigfoot209th's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I saw the title of this post in the forum list.... and laughed straight away.. -
go to the frontpage of the lockon site http://www.lockon.ru they are listed by the article about the boxed release, there are three shops on there. I think they all deliver pretty much anywhere, but I cant be overly sure. I went with RCS because they are very close to my house ;)

Wow nice work dedcat ;)

Graphics tweak to avoid pop-up -- my best so far
SAM-Smasher replied to jason_peters's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
:O Ive just realised...... Lockon is really spyware...... noooooo..... :p -
LOL W-Natas, excellent plan!! that would make a great televised advert for FC 1.1 too. When you force them to land will you let them go again, so they can deliver the rest of the boxed versions like santa.
-
Well when I made my order with them the other day, they said they will despatch FC 1.1 on Friday the 6th, so it will be here on the 9th which is Monday :) I havent been notified of any changes so I assume this should still be the case :)
-
So the KA-50 is definatley in development for 1.2? thats excellent news :) im really pleased to hear that helo is getting in there as a flyable, lomac would be a great platform for a simulated helo. ;)
-
Right ive ordered my copy of 1.1 from RC simulations, which turns out are about 2 miles from my house LOL! Really looking forward to seeing the afm and all the improvements made to the sim, especially the updated radars *I take it this did get in?* Im just fishing for some comments and general opinion of the addon to get me in the mood for when it arrives on Monday, hope you all dont mind me asking? :) Be honest though, I dont need a load of fanboy crap, just tell me as it is, im not one to be bothered by a minor glitch here or there. ;) Thanks very much in advance all :) Terry

A way would need to be found to prevent the AI taking the plane for a joyride when you switch to backseat though. Thats assuming the AI would switch places with you??? Sorry if that doesnt make sense, im having a writers block at the moment
-
Fantastic stuff!!!! im there!!! I like the site, very well set out!
-
At least in that configuration the F-15 pilot doesnt need to check six, hes got a few pairs of eyes behind him  !!!! Nice pic Moose, that and the sukhoi picture cracked me up!! :D perhaps we need a funny pictures thread with all the oddities that occur in one place!!
-
Before twelve or its bad luck
-
LOL!!!!!! :D Honestly I dont blame them for it, things happen in flight sims and games that cant be explained, but they sure are funny :D And its not my fault my wingman decided to do a mid-air washing machine impression, he shouldnt bring his\her domestic problems to the battlefield, I mean jeez he\she could at least have crashed into the target, but my wingman fell short of about 80nm of it. :D Leaving myself with every AA system pointed at me, which is funnily enough just how I like it 8) hence my screen-name. I tried that but all they ever say to me is "copy" or "roger" :P Now theres a theory!!! sounds pretty good to me!!! I did try that, but A10's nuclear reactor couldnt supply enough power  Thanks for the input guys, it made me laugh!!!
-
Trouble is we would start having complaints like: "the modelling of cow movement doesnt contain the correct angles of rotation around the joint" "The distance between the cows tail and the ground is out by a few centimetres" "The A10 shell impact doesnt create the appropraite damage to the cow" "Can we have a flyable pig?" You know its true
-
I dont whether anyone has encountered this before, but it certainly made me laugh... Im flying merrily along my waypoint route in an A10, and begin a shallow descent, as I decend, I perform my usual pylon check, looked left.... all clear... looked right...... only to spot my wingman rolling violently  , following my flight path, I levelled out, I then noticed he is still losing altitude, eventually the plane goes smashing into the ground, no radio commands could retrieve his spinning frenzy. I dont know what the hell happened there, my wingman was not shot down I can say that for sure, there is no evidence to suggest a shoot down. Needless to say that made me chuckle for the rest of the mission and even now thinking about it, that was a one off for sure. :D
