Just found this: They changed the procedure of how to operate the MK108 to a more realistic behavior. After you armed the guns, you have to press the MK108 safety button on the stick, you will hear a "whoosh" sound until it's "loaded". The MK108 is pneumatic, so the airpressure must be "charged". Yep, new procedure without any notice in the Update Notes. Button on the stick is not clickable with the mouse either (at least I could not find the spot for it) Default key assignment is LAlt + SPACE for the Control option: CHARGE MK 108 (D)

How about cannons? I see no option to arm cannons in a server mission or own created mission. Cannons only seem to work in the base tutorials/instant action

I only have 23gb left on my SDD where DCS World is installed, but want to get another terrain - Normandy - needing 60 Gb. I have 150Gb left on my HD, can I install the map on the HD and access it from the game running on the SDD? Dont really want to buy it unless I know I can install it ok.

theres also LAlt+comms key to use radio commands, and LCtrl + comms key - give them a try or remap in options

Appreciate this post, I thought radar was broken or settings were incorrect when I couldnt even detect a bomber 20-30 miles ahead of me with me chasing it. At least I know its limitations now; after installing the radar graphics fix I thought I'd broken something.

Whats with this civil airplane park on the west coast?

You can find the cockpit texture dds file in the mods/aircraft/a-4e/cockpit/textures folder, its part of the zipped textures file a4e_cockpit_boards, called inst_panel.dds. Just add your text or image to this then resave as a dds file.

Anyone getting a problem with the A-4e kitted out with MK77 (mod 1) fire bombs? I got instant shutdown of DCS as soon as I pressed the weapon release button?

Essential addition to my cockpit So many times I forget to close the canpoy before takeoff :(

Any fix been found for this yet? Rudder trim in flight seems to make no differnce, and rudder trim in initial options/special make no difference.

SRS is detecting mic input, now are there any recommendations for friendly servers using SRS a lot? I cant seem to find any where its very actively used?

Not sure where to start with that, any guides ?

I now have a gaming headset + Mic, keen to test SRS on a multiplayer server, but there seems to be virtually no-one using SRS, so I dont even know if its working properly or if I have it configured right. Can anyone recommend me a newbie-friendly MP server with some SRS chatter I can check my settings out on?

Upate - possibly over-zealous antivirus software wiping the F-14 dll file, creating corrupt version of DCS which then causes failure to launch program correctly every time. Time to test alternative AV, see if it solves the issue. Wish Heatblur would make it easier to cleanly uninstall the aircraft and all its files :(

I removed it when I finally found the module manager, but although the pop-up is gone it still fails the multiplayer integrity check and prevents me from joining some servers, saying pure client needed? My antivirus blocked the DCS repair process as it was trying to reinstall the F-14 Heatblur common dll, which it recognises as a virus infection. This now causes intermittant problems with starting DCS as 2 times out of 3 I just get the logo and background music, nothing else. I have to press ctrl+alt+delete and quit then try again. It seems I am unable to get the damned F-14 off my system now without damaging my install of DCS :(

So on my first real tries at multiplayer I spent some time yesterday in 'Capture the Base' servers, trying to figure out how you captured a FARP while flying a Frogfoot. Can anyone explain to me how they work? Do you need someone directing ground troops into an area once the defences have been knocked out?

I'm glad I found this post as I'm in same position, just started experimenting with multiplayer and the comms options, which I find a bit confusing. I downloaded SRS and managed to get it working (a bit) in one server but found it 'less-than-straightforward' to get the correct frequencies to listen into. I also installed TeamSpeak 3 and have a discord account. Now do you decide on a 'favourite' comms system according to the server or do you use these in parallel when flying multiplayer? Do all the additional comms work standalone outside the ATC and AWACS comms that exist in-game or can you select which to listen to?

Help please - after downloading the F-14 Heatblur around Christmas time for 48 hr trial period I keep getting the popup when starting DCS - F-14 not authorised. I'm not sure which folders its safe to delete, I also see its mentioning the F-14 in the autoupdate config file which I broke, then mended. How can I get rid of the files and the popup?

I'm getting login issues since update - dcs website not available at moment, so cant use my FC3 aircraft or purchased sceneries
