  1. Ok that was it gang, apparently did not have fuel pump switched on. That was a pretty tough first mission btw!! Much thanks!
  2. Ah sounds like that is it guys, I normally turn those switches on the left On prior to starting up so must me getting the fuel pump somehow set to off, Will be trying the mission again here later in the morning, will advise much thanks!
  3. Ok so have just started the Beware Beware campaign. I am struggling with Sortie 1. First I use the drop tank until it runs out as I am climbing and hooking up with the bombers. When it runs out I switch to my main tank and drop the empty drop tank. All good so far. Then I get above around 18k ft and my engine starts crapping out. Like it goes back to idle and stays there. I can lost a little altitude manipulating the throttle and it will come back on but will not stay on. Like it is running out of fuel or something but it is not. I do not believe I am doing anything to damage the engine, I tend to take care of the engine. Also I would note I just finished my first Spitfire campaign - The Big Show - and had no trouble at all climbing to like 22k ft with my engine so I am a bit stumped on this one. Going to try Sortie 1 again this morning and see how I get along, I anticipate I will be faced with the same thing again though.
  4. Yes having those options built into the game GUI would be most awesome.
  5. I think it should yes can't hurt to try.
  6. Certainly yes you can run both versions at the same time as they each have their own executable. I think you would find most folks in here just run with the Open Beta to get all the latest goodies as soon as possible. Beware though it is still a beta product and some things can get broken at times, though usually not so much. I have only had the Open Beta on my rig now for several years. DCS does carry a large footprint especially with all the maps so there is that to consider as well.
  7. So seems there will be no fix for Aero users wanted to run in pure Open XR ( quad display issue) until March 1st or there abouts? I guess would just need to continue to use the wrapper provided by Mbucchia... I am at this time just using Steam VR's Open XR runtime and it is doing ok.
  8. I will have to give that a try, though I probably would not use it all that much in practice. Do you just use one of the controllers to toggle it on/off?
  9. Ok so flew some Spit campaign flying today using Steam VR's Open XR runtime. Performance was at least as good as Steam VR if not a little better. Kind of hard to tell for me as I run with vysnc on and locked to 45 fps - seems to give me a quite smooth experience that I am happy with and can run some higher graphics settings. I did get the impression the image quality in the cockpit was even a little sharper, some smaller text even easier to see it seemed. I will probably stick with this for now using Steam VR's Open XR until ED gets the proper implementation for the Aero taken care of. However if it takes too long for them to roll that out I may get curious and go ahead and try it with the wrapper.
  10. Ok made a seperate shortcut with the --force_OpenXR nomenclature added to the shortcut and launched DCS, everything started properly in VR using Steam's Open XR I presume. I did select Open XR in Steam's Developer settings. Will test it out some later on in the day in a Spit campaign. Also appears I can still change resolution per app in Steam VR should I so desire.
  11. It is; --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR
  12. Ok good to know then, thanks. You may have already answered this earlier, by using Steam's Open XR does it still recognize my resolution settings I have in Steam VR?
  13. --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR Like this? Or leave the --force_enable_VR out and just have --force_OpenXR?
  14. Ok so then no wrapper and just select Stean VR as OpenXR runtime? Man this stuff can get confusing lol.
  15. I have been using Steam VR and running my Aero on default of Hi with vysnc on and locked at 45 fps. I have been getting a good smooth experience with these settings along with some pretty high gfx settings in DCS. Just finished the Spitfire The Big Show campaign with these settings and it was great. I may have a look at Open XR in next day or so. It would be nice if ED got the fix out for the Aero sooner rather than later but am sure they will likely wait for the next update so I may give the wrapper a try.
  16. I think I will hold out for hopefully an official fix from ED on this issue which I hope will be sooner rather than later, instead of modding the file. This is certainly awesome for you guys that want something quicker and do not mind modding.
  17. Just gave Open XR native a try with my Aero for kicks and grins. Did not have quad screen and image looked good in headset however mouse cursor all messed up, can't really click on anything so it is unusable as is for me in the Aero. Back to Steam VR for now, hopefully ED gets a fix for this pushed asap.
  18. Yeah it was really hard to believe they included native Open XR support in the update without even mentioning it in the changelog. I mean for VR users that was a pretty big deal.
  19. I was going to give this a go today but sounds like for Aero owners at least running in Open XR is currently broken. Glad I saw this probably saved some hair pulling lol.
  20. Lol figures, well I will just stick with my tried and true Steam VR for now. Thanks,
  21. Not sure if today's hotfix changed any of the above to run in Open XR or not?
  22. I hope not as I much prefer flying with vsync on in VB and locked at 45 fps.
  23. Ok thanks I will give it a try tomorrow sans Toolkit though, I just want to compare how it does using Open XR runtime. Nice to know I can still use my resolution settings I have in Steam VR.
