Fully agree on everything there. I am a single player only guy and absolutely love DCS , it has brought me tons of joy over the last several years.

Holy crap flying carrier ops off the Super Carrier in the Persian Gulf with the Hornet - Bliss! And my head only goes through my Hornet cockpit if I intentionally try to move it out there. So I don't.

I wish I could say one way or another but I had a 7 week lay off due to spinal surgery and have just got back to flying, so I really can not remember. My performance in 2.8 seems to be ok'ish though. Can always be better.

That is my usual procedure as well, so hopefully will be no issue on my end either. Not really sure what happened to me on that last update a couple of days ago.

That is really odd. I have three controllers , three different brands, all hooked up and they do not affect my APB's at all. If you are on Discord try and hit Miles up over there I am sure he can help get you sorted.

I see we had a hot fix for Open Beta later on today, so help me if this screws up my Vaicom again I think I will go ballistic LOL. Won't be checking till tomorrow.

With the MSI installer and it was working fine. I "think" I deleted the previous version I had. Have slept several times since then and may not be recalling exactly. My mind ain't as sharp as it used to be.

I have not wiped out any of Vaicom yet. So what do you mean if I wipe Vaicom out I have to enter all maps manually? How does one do this? They were saying it was like a 5 min process that I can do to just do the new install of Vaicom? All I know is since I updated DCS Vaicom is completely broken for me. Pretty much trashed.

This is what is now displayed in VA when I launch it. Pretty strange had never seen that before, I did the reset lua thing as suggested and now it displays this. I guess tomorrow I will try a new install of Vaicom. No idea what is going on with it and why the DCS update seemed to make this happen...

Yep made no difference. Also been using Vaicom for years and never reset the lua once.

This has happened to me today after updating to the new DCS Open Beta earlier this morning. I am getting those same messages "constructing message" and no replies from ATC. I was posting about it over on their Discord, they said mine did not show it was hooked into DCS. My next step they suggested is a new install of Vaicom 2.8 but will be tomorrow before I can get it done. Don't know if they are related but I had never seen that "constructing message" in the log before and I saw you also experienced it so thought I would as well. Vaicom for me today is totally fubar.

Also there is an IL-2 section in Varjo Discord and also an IL-2 channel in Discord as well.

Pretty sure you will want to go with the recommended USB3 Plug as Supmua suggested. Historically VR and USB2 have not played nice together.

Yes correct you do not want that. You need to unplug the headset from power source. I personally use smart plugs, and have my three Lighthouse 2.0 trackers and headset plugged into the smart plugs so I can easily turn on and off with my cell phone. IMHO crazy that Varjo did not include a power button on their Link Box.

Ugh I would hate to have to try and use my keyboard with DCS whilst flying in VR. I make good use of my HOTAS for button assignments along with Vaicom Pro/Voice Attack for comms. I only do single player though.

I am assuming you are talking about Vaicom Pro with Voice Attack since you have posted in the Vaicom sub-forum. Suggest you have a read through this thread - should get you up to date and clear some stuff up for ya:

Yeah like I said earlier I have as of yet not come across a situation in the Hornet where I need to use a button press other than TX1. Change the channels on radio 1 and 2 sure, but not changing my TX button press. I use TX1 for requesting start up, removing wheel chock, taxi, take off (although not always get a reply to these), wingman commands, then calling inbound to carrier and coms for it.

My experience with Varjo has been supreme from the get-go when I first go the Aero in late Jan. I am very pleased with both the headset and the company behind it. Hoping we will see Motion Reprojection by the end of the year. They claim it is going to be really good and I tend to believe them these days. Believe me to date my headset has gotten a ton of hours of use.

No don't think so but who knows. Things seem to be fine still.

I deleted the DCS folder and just left the program under the DCS Open Beta folder in Saved Games which is where it should be. A quick test and it appears to be working ok, will try it out with a flight here soon to be sure. No idea how I ended up with what I had.
