So i am trying to reinstall DCSW.. on the torrent download update, I am getting 7 Kb/s I switch to HTTP download and I get 6 KB/s I am on a fiberoptic connection hard wired to my case direct from modem. My DL is currently 264MB/s (just checked on multiple speedtests) Any idea/tips on what is throttling the DCS download? Any tips to make this faster? This will take all day at this rate.

  7. I just saw this in the guncam footage of bud andersons..... see the video below, at the 1:00 mark he shoots at a 109 with a belly tank and it lights up... the 109 pilot then jettisons the tank. very cool. would this be ridiculously difficult to implement? [ame]https://vimeo.com/120109968[/ame]

  9. no crashing on DoW with dynamic weather - we are using it in roughl 3 or 4 of our missions. i really really really do wish we had a library of dyn weather templates for download though. it is unfortunately difficult to tease out the nuances of setting up a decent pattern for a mission - well labelled, available templates spanning different map areas woudl be most welcome indeed.

MISSION START -> NO CONDITION -> DOSCRIPT FILE (GET MIST FROM HERE : https://github.com/mrSkortch/MissionScriptingTools/releases/tag/4.1.61) ONCE -> PART OF BLUE COALITION IN ZONE (COMBAT ZONE) ->ACTIVATE GROUP1 SWITCHED CONDITION -> GROUP #1 DEAD -> DO SCRIPT (if not Group.getByName('GROUP1') then mist.respawnGroup('GROUP1', true) end) This assumes you name your enemy group "GROUP1" nomdeplume is correct - respawning bad guys without needing to restart a mission is most easily achieved with the MIST scripting function. If you learn the technique above, it will make this /all future mission making infinitely easier.

  14. yeah - I'd love to find an official ED explanation that would help me wrap my brain around how the inclusion of any more polygons and ground art impacts the map performance. Download times are the obvious ones but I dont really understand how expanion would hit FPS for example... outside of Ossetia and Abkhazia, it feels like we are *JUST*BARELY* missing some incredibly neat areas of operation/interest from the real world. Kerch: WWII and modern history 5. Istanbul: woudl be very cool to get only this city as a long distance target.
  15. Sounds like you are digging in ! Good luck with the project! There are basically two resources i used the most when i began making missions: 1. Learn the Mission Editor basics for triggers from here: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/DCS_Mission_Editor_(ME) 2. Read up on MIST from here: http://wiki.hoggit.us/view/Mission_Scripting_Tools_Documentation and here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98616 With a good understanding of basic triggers and how to use MIST, you will be on a great path to start making some pretty immersive missions. The second suggestion I have for you is to BEG BORROW AND STEAL. :) Basically - play missions for the Huey that you like and then open up the track file (.trk) by renaming it to .miz and having a peek at it in the mission editor . This is a great way to see how others have done things and it will also help you see how some of the trigger logic can flow. You can also rename a .miz to a .zip and open it to see the sound files and scripts that may or may not be bundled witht he mission. In terms of your question about the destroyed units at mission start - yes this is possible by a few different ways. One way you could do it would be to set a bunch of zones around where you would like to see the explosions occur then place an explosion on each zone at mission start. i.e. MISSION START->NO CONDITION->EXPLOSION (ZONE XXX, ALTITUDE 1, VOLUME 1000) where XXX = each zone location you want to have a "Bomb" go off from the attack...
  16. i think the point is to recognize the limitations of the curent map on game performance though.... This is why I'm only asking for a handful of locations on the other side of the straight... hopefully it would not impact performance too much while opening up some new mission possibilities around that straight. that said - yeah... adding a handful of cities along the blacksea south shore or far west would be super awesome too.
  17. i am hoping we are in for surprises... it does feel odd that simple AI bombers have never been discussed as it is obviously a major point for servicing the propellor customers.

  19. This is my wishlist... I would love to see the addition of these two airfields into our Black Sea map with some associated urban locales... I am not looking for the full Crimea by any means... just these two AF and minor town densities to allow us to use the straights as a strategic area of operations. the addition of the f-18/f-14 will make choke points like this all the more fun to create missions around. so... um.... please?

  22. yes! the coordinates of all remote cities wouldbe most welcome... it would finally allow me to make some long range strike missions with refueling over the black sea!
  23. heya gav - can you expand? Not sure I ever heard of the 1 second issue.... are you saying the latency between two clients makes it worse? Have you ever noticed a difference vs. AI? I dont think I ever had any problem with the gyro - i use it to get my tracers either on target or "darn close" ... then a simple pitch will usually walk them where i want them.
