HUGE vote for grimes.... C'mon folks - It crushed me that he did not win last year. Think about it... so many of the contributions to our community would hardly have come to fruition without MIST. Arguably many of the other nominee's work is directly benefiting from MIST and the functionality it brings to DCS mission development. I think he is not winning because so few fully understand what MIST has done for mission development. :( A close second would be Chuck = his guides have done plenty to make the sim accessible and likely prevented many customers from inevitable rage quits in the face of foreign switchology and hundreds of pages of manuals.....

have you thought about utilizing a "part of coalition in zone" trigger to have a few AAA guns hold fire until a unit is closer? I agree that it may be easy to force gunners to deplete ammo quickly... I think the rearming might be too slow to disincent the strategy... having some gunners hold fire until an attacking unit is closer may work better?

Random Countdown (from : http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Mission_Editor:_Randomization ) Once > Time Less than 5 > Set Flag 1 Random Value from 50 to 100 Switched Condition >Time Since Flag 1 is 30 seconds > Flag 1 Decrease 1 Once > Flag 1 Equals 1 > Activate Group This method is based on setting an initial value and then counting down by 1 at a set rate until the value equals 1 to spawn a group. In this example the group will spawn somewhere between 25 and 50 minutes. It is highly flexible in that the random time it takes for the group to activate is easily defined. The "rate" in this example, the 2nd trigger, can be raised or lowered to drastically change the time it takes for the group to spawn. Changeing the 2nd trigger to the following will result in a random time between 4.1 and 8.3 minutes. Switched Condition >Time Since Flag 1 is 5 seconds > Flag 1 Decrease 1

yeah thats what i was referring to... i was using .trk synonymously with a brief "movie intro". Does anyone recall how this was achieved?

i recall somewhere around FC2 I had made a mission where I was able to insert a brief movie as an intro that played when the mission started ... Am I going crazy? Does anyone else remember this functionality?? Can we still do this somehow? :hmm:

after a few sorties I think I am concluding that the ZSU 23 opposition might be a bit excessive at target. As the mission author for all of the DoW missions, I'd suggest you consider dropping their skill level to average, reduce the density or change them with the M113. The M113 has become the preferred target defense in DoW mission design and might provide as a nice balance for smaller attack wings on this mission. just my thoughts....

also... can the TF51 capture intel on more than one target per sortie? can it carry multiple intel flags and deliver them / spawn multiple bomber flights if successful?

.... YUP. The first burst as I attacked the Sukhumi oil derricks today scared to crap out of me. Pretty tight grouping and they cover a heckuva large area. BOOOOM. That said - I knocked out one of the derricks with my SC50s... how does a particular side view damage states of potential targets? F10 only shows our assets, and the web map only seems to show the absolute ownership - not any damage state. i.e. if I was going to fly from nalchik tonight to hit those derricks again, how would I know if #2 was down/damaged in order to prevent my wasting a trip?

Yup - confirmed here.... All you have to do is make sure you unzip the demo missions to have the proper mist versioning for rc5. I'm not seeing any huge bugs in rc5 and admit I haven't followed the thread ... Are things pretty stable these days with the current release candidates?

Yeah - i'd love to hear from VEAO or Polychop on what kind of restrictions/access/data issues there might be in bringing this plane into DCS... it would fill such a fantastic role in our portfolio.

Hey all Here is a new mission i created for MP servers. Feel free to modify at will. Very simple in setup as it uses the new Stonehouse/Lukrop GCI script. I have also added a dynamic weather front so you have some nice cloud banks that may/may not obscure targets. 8 x Mig 15 vs. 8 x F86 DPRK must eliminate a group of 8 F-86 static units at the civil AF in Kutaisi. USA must attrit a DPRK base <50% in Sukhumi. AI will take off/spawn at your bases as per the GCI script. There is ONE Awacs per side that will need to be protected. All comms are tested and working in the mission with appropriate info in the briefings. Enjoy! KOREA SABRE vs MIG_ OPERATION RIVERRUN.miz
