  1. Just on a side note, I'm reading Tom Clancy's Threat Vector at the moment and it's got some wicked carrier based combat in it. Definitely recommend.
  2. Yup, that confirms that I do, indeed, suck at CV ops :D. Love it though, and I will resolve to get better. :pilotfly:
  3. Well, I'm not the hardcore simmer as some who grace these threads - not a jab, but a compliment - but I really enjoy this simulation, if only for the Carrier ops alone. I never get tired of launch and trap, although I also suck at it, even if some of the following were Case III. :D I haven't tried the weapons side of things at the moment as I'm just having fun flying the bird around...
  4. Got it OK, I've had a look at the Target Software for FC2 and Lo-and-behold, it has a "print Layout" feature. After some jiggery-pokery, I give you the graphical layout of the TM Warthog for the Flaming Cliffs 3 layout. It's not the Lua some of you were hoping for, but I think this will go a long way to helping you set up your Warthogs for FC3 F-15C...:D EDIT: OK, after playing with the mapping in the attached thumbnails, I've created Lua's for the Eagle and Flankers. To get around the issue of Close combat/Nav/BVR mode switching on the Boat switch, I recommend setting the Boat switch as a modifier so as to operate the different sensor functions through TMS UDL&R. I think this will ruin the Boat switch functionality in A-10C. but haven't tried it. Please provide feedback on this control option. 5. It would appear that those in the know are reluctant to assist, give the TARGET profile already exists. I have found diagrams that will help in the assigning of HOTAS profiles for the F-15C hopefully this will help new guys like myself. I could only find images for the Strike Eagle so I hope this is similar: Hopefully this will point the way.
  6. Actually I don't use TARGET, so I would have to say no.
  7. I think they mean the landlord...
  8. - What were you doing just before - or trying to do when the problem happened? Was on ramp in A-10C fired up APU, selecting loadout (left alt + ') I had Hydra IRC running in background, and attempted to Alt-Tab to see messages. Would briefly flicker to the alt-tab app selector, but immediately snap back to DCSW. Attempted again to Alt-TAB to IRC, then DCSW crashed. - In which mission? (If custom mission, attach it / trk). Custom, Multiplayer Server. Trk attached. - What happened? After 2nd or 3rd attempt at Alt-Tab, game froze with popup window - Runtime Error (screen cap attached) - And when? (Track timeline, use LCtrl + Pause for TIME ingame). Game froze, approx. 40 minutes - Relevant info regarding your issue - SP, MP, Mods, custom PC gear - anything relevant. Mulitplayer mission, have applied zzzspace REAL SOUND v1.0 for DCS World. - Short description of your hardware config (a full DxDiag must be attached for graphics/crashes/hardware/fps issues). Win 7 64bit SP1. i7 2600 @3.4, 16Gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 6800. - Screenshots when possible. Attached. I can't think of anything else, other than I think that having DCSW set as full screen in options, then attempting to Alt-Tab, may have contributed to the crash. Cheers. client-20120821-201243.trk dcs.rar DCS-20120821-114229.rar me.rar DxDiag.txt
  9. All good. I have since uninstalled the legacy s/w and DCS:W and modules still work. Thanks!
  10. I originally had A-10C and Ka-50 (both 1.1.1.1) installed on my C:/ drive as it is an SSD and I wanted optimal game performance. With other s/w filling it up quickly, I have decided to put my new installs on a 2TB secondary, eSATA. This now includes DCS:W. My question is, with DCS:W installed and all purchased modules installed thereafter, is it safe to run the uninstallers for the original stand alone modules? I assume they don't share any resources with the newer installs? ie DCS:W on D: drive doesn't need anything in the install folder on C: drive from 1.1.1.1?
  11. Has this been sorted in 1.2? I seem to remember there was a screen grab of a Su-25 loadout with info on available munitions at that airfield, but my searches are not giving up the goods. Can someone kindly point me to the relevant thread?
  12. Mods, can we lock this thread. I have a feeling it's ran it's course.
  13. Come now...You love troll slaying! :megalol:
  14. Totally worth the extra $6...
  15. Not to mention you are (or were) supporting a passionate and talented crew of devs. I'm still waiting, but remain patient because I am looking forward to it and know full well that they don't have the resources to allocate to the project like ED does. Hell, only one of the team is actually able to work on it full time. Give them some more time. They will come up with the goods.
  16. Not quite wrong, just that "DCS: F/A-18E" was announced. Therefore addon with DCS fidelity.
  17. If it under performs, then I bet my left one that ED doesn't publish.
  18. I have to voice my agreement with Grab. Iris and to some extent Rambam have experience in producing quality simulations for FS9/FSX but the decision to grant license to a total unknown (CoreTex) seems strange. Is there a vetting process whereby ED/TFC determine who is qualified to develop for the DCS range? Contracts being what they are, are legal obligations to an agreed set of outcomes for both signed parties. Surely the makers of the DCS brand have set high standards for all licensees? A $79 turbosquid model a simulator does not make - well as far as I can see (agreed, I have no development experience whatsoever). Can you give us an idea on how the process works, so that we can rest a little easier? Thanks, Spud.
  19. Iris and Rambam have a proven track record in simulation...Haven't heard of CoreTex. I'm all for encouraging and supporting devs, but I don't know about this... Please CoreTex, renders are good, but is there anything else that can prove to us you have what it takes to wear the DCS mantle?
  20. Agreed. To shift a large detail of armor from one part of a country to another would be efficiently done by rail, and not with a convoy of HET's. Even then, HET's are subject to road conditions. A few runway denial munitions would mean a halt to a convoy. To model rail in the environment on Combined Arms would be unheard of and very interesting indeed...
  21. Sorry for the double post. I have to address this response since my OP suggested that I was, indeed, zigzagging in an exaggerated manner. It's slight pull to the right which can, when taxi lights are on, indicate massive corrections. I chase the centre line as best I can and am very near the mark. It's just a personal perspective that I feel I may be zigzagging. Having read the referred link by beers (thank you) I have discovered that it is a real a/c behaviour.
  22. Yep, done that. Have issues with Sticky toe breaks, so now, I just use "w" key command to brake. All missions I have flown have winds no greater than 2 m/s. Don't remember a mission with noticeable weather variables. Refer OP I have all but the Curve set the same. Occasional Toe break "stick", but use "w" now. Thanks for the tip. Physical effort is not a factor that translates to results in a forum search. Did search using strings such as "pulls right", "Drifts" and "taxi". My controls indicator (rt ctrl+enter) shows yaw input as dead centre. No brake input and negligible wind. Must be a loadout asymmetry thing, but for the most part, the only stores that are asymmetrical are the ECM pod and AIM-9's. I don't know if they are significantly different in mass.
  23. Ever since I started using the A-10C I've noticed a slight pull to the right on taxi. I have Saitek Pro Flight peddles and as far as I know, there is no way to calibrate them. I have set an approximate 5% dead zone to centre and looking at the Wndblows 7 game controller settings, the direction indicator stays within deadband whilst centred. I did a search in the flight manual and couldn't see a reference to this sort of drift. I was thinking it was something to do with the nose wheel offset for the gun. Centering during take off after NWS is disengaged is still required, but flight surfaces seem to smooth things out a bit. Can someone please clear this up for me. I try real hard not to look like a tool zigzagging my way down the taxi way.:D
  24. Interesting blend...:megalol:
  25. Might I recommend Zonte's Footstep Lake Doctor Shiraz. Mana from heaven....
