Did you use the 1.12a version of Shepki's mod that was reworked by (504) Wolverine? It's on page four of the weapons mod thread: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=210089#post210089 Personally I always just copy the relevant text from the meinit file that has the alterations over to the one I'm using, that way I can keep all of the tweeks I've made to the meinit.xml.

Here's a discussion about going Gunzo with the Su33 that might help you a little. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=24123

I agree with EricJ on this. I think there's been a lot of tension as the release date of BS, bringing with it some well needed bug fixes, seems too be no closer than it was several months ago. And add to that the main site going down and people not being able to activate BS and you're just asking for trouble. But I don't think ED were sitting around drinking Vodka thinking great lockon.ru is down we get some time off, instead I think its a case of limited resources and ED chose the most cost effective way to get the site back online which unfortunately took along time and fueled the tensions between the Mods and some forum members and Squads. The fact is that forums don't really matter all that much to developers in general because most people that purchase any game or sim will never even visit the forums at all. However the ED devs aren't just reading and listening but also answering questions here on the lockon boards which I can tell you is pretty rare for todays games, so its not all doom and gloom for the lockon forums. Lastly I'll say this that we as forum members, for this or any other game/sim, aren't just the community that keeps driving the flgihtsim genre forward but we're also free twenty four seven tech support for the developers spending a heck of a lot of time trying to help people get the most out of a game and even Microsoft couldn't pay for that amount of support. So when a few members are apparently treated harshly it can serve to divide the community into an us and them situation which just produces ten plus page threads with frikken huge posts ;). Although I understand that the Mods are pretty much prohibited from speaking out in public so a reasonable disagreement can turn into a Witch hunt when it should really have been left for the disagreeing pair to settle any differences via PM's. But if you've been banned then that's basically a full stop in the argument and your options are now limited. I just hope something is announced or released pretty soon so we can discuss whats going right instead of whats going wrong. -
This is going to look awesome!!:thumbup: IK you should link to your A10 GBU meinit.xml file in your sig. I'm sure there are lots of people that would want to check it out. :)

Lite beer doesn't motivate me at all.. Now if it was Molson then I'd buy a few copies :smilewink: Anyway I chose 1 .. fix everything for BS, that way we can all start moaning early for a patch to fix the bugs in LO: BS :D -
Welcome and Nice flying

It all depends on what you're trying to do and what fighter you're up against. Here's 3 Tracks: the 33 v Mirage is that standard BnZ maneuver that you would perform if your enemy can severely out turn you .. the toughest part is to actually keep an eye on your opponent. You can also go low and slow with the Mirage with out any problems but the best way is to just fight in the vertical. The first 33vF16 track is an intuitive method of just turning with the F16 which is not something I would personally do but you can easily stay with the 16 as long as you follow one simple rule; and that is never try to keep him, or any any fighter, in the HUD all the time because you'll just bleed off all your speed and end up a siting duck. However if you extend a little during the fight keeping the enemy in the, say above the canopy frame then this will allow you to keep a more competitive maneuvering speed and when you see the enemy fly into or near your hud then pull the hard G's and shoot. The second 33v16 is the method I would choose for most close in fights with AI because it's the most fun :) . Basically I try to get into a vertical rolling scissors, once again not forcing him into the Hud until I'm ready and once the enemy has lost enough airspeed then you just get into position and shoot. The Su33 is Just as competitive as any fighter in the this game but if you're going to use intuitive tactics that the F15 and Su27 may allow you then you will find the 33 very difficult indeed but if you think in the vertical then you'll come out on top every time... well near enough :smilewink:

Russian Pilots Have More Fun

Here's one that really shows how strong Naval fighters are.

Your CD version will work regardless of what happens to SF but you may have problems with your DL version. However if that were to happen then I assume ED would come up with something so you wouldn't have a useless copy of FC that was unplayable because you couldn't activate it.
-
Heh :) yeah there still is a lot of confusion around the differences between the CD and DL versions. Basically CD = No activation but has a once a week CD checker and the DL version has the whole activation thingy although those of us that chose to purchase the CD version had to wait for I think four to six weeks while drooling over the screen shots that were being posted by those that DL FC  .
-
I have the CD version and there is no activation what so ever. You only have a once a week CD checker and that's it. I have LO:FC installed on two systems in my house from the same CD and I have never needed to activate anything.

Air forces In general get it wrong all the time which is why the F14 had such a long run and ended up as the bomb cat and also why the A10 is still going with no real replacement. When I see an F35 staffing targets 80m away from friendly forces in a real combat situation then I'll start to worry for the Hornet. But if history repeats itself then those that think they know will have to listen to those that actually know and the Hornet will live on :pilotfly: ... I hope ;)
-
F*** Me that was incredible :thumbup: .. best I've ever seen by a long way ..
-
I recently found out that I have a twin engine fetish ;) so I'm not a big fan of the F35 but as long as it doesn't completely kill off the F18 and A10, then I wont mind too much although the F35 Star-Trek cockpit is pretty cool.
-
Even real missiles can be evaded but there's just a lot of loop holes in Lockon right now. And if things were more realistic and players ended up getting shot down more often then they'd adapt and start using more realistic evasion techniques. IMO it would make the sim much more fun than it is now and I don't think kill ratios would alter much either but tactics would definitely need to change all round.

So it's an official race then .. Which one will arrive first, an Asteroid or LO:BS :smilewink:.. Well my money is on the the flying rock :D .
-
Yes but whats the quality of those addons and patches.. If you guys really want to complain about US aircraft and weapons systems then get IL2 and you'll be busy for days, weeks, months etc. Personally I gave up and now live in hope that BoB will bring certain US planes closer the their real world counter parts. What I want to know is; have any changes been made to the look down shoot down situation or is it still a case of "shoot down, get down" below the aircraft you've fired against? It seems all BVR missiles suck when engaging a target bellow 5km and mountains just make that even worse which can make you a chump for trying to fly realistically with the attitude of high and faster equals longer range.
