FF.... I don't want to believe there are people still using IE :banned:

It adjusts the forces applied to FFB joysticks when trimming. Although I only notice a slight difference in forces on my M$FFB2 stick when adjusting the TrimmerGain value. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=65263&postcount=4

It logs your online time and lets others know, if you want, that you're online. It's basically a tool to keep in touch with people that play the same game and also acts like XP points or honor level by displaying how much time you've spent playing multiplayer, if you're interested in that kind of thing. In fact it will also log the time you've spent playing offline too but Xfire wont discriminate against online and offline play so I would recommend another account if you want to keep track of your offline flying.

Well I've been experimenting with this for about a week and it works great for logging online hours and displaying your status. How it works with Lockon; Unfortunately Xfire's server list isn't compatible with Lockon, this means you have to join via IP. This isn't a big problem becasue Lockon stores the last few IP's in a drop down list so once you make a note of the IP's, for the servers you like to play in, then just run Lockon from Xfires Launch Menu, click the NTW button, choose the IP from the list and click start. How to match servers to IP's? well that's simple, just use HL to connect to a server and it will place the address at the top of the list with in Lockon. What I do is to use HL to see what server I want to play in then close HL and run Xfire to launch Lockon. You can get Xfire here:http://www.xfire.com/download/ Click my Miniprofile tag to view the screenshots I took, in ArmA and AA using Xfires SS and upload facility. Once again, unfortunately Xfire has no in game support for Lockon yet so the screen shot and in game messaging systems wont work so if any of you have or decide to checkout Xfire then please leave some support here; http://www.xfire.com/xf/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=182173 Thx.

Ah thx for the info.. A real shame though his su27 looked insanely detailed ...but real life comes first.

This has happened to me too, offline, a couple of times but I've never been hit. The missiles just look like they are firing blind and you have to be pretty unlucky if you fly into one. Probably not the same thing you guys are experiencing though.
-
Just wondering how many of you think we would benefit from a forum dedicated to playing online, instead of the content regarding the Multiplayer aspect of Lockon being split between the General and Tracks, Missions and Campaigns forums. Personally I'd like to see one. I think it would make things easier for everyone, new guys and vets, if all announcements and info were in one place.

I was thinking of StrikeMax's Su27 model, didn't he stop work on it becasue ED were designing a new Su27 for BS.. And the idea was we'd just copy over the .lom model to LO .. but as you mentioned if they changed arguments then it probably won't work in LO.

Ok guys lets not get too personal about this, konkussion is cool, I'm sure he just misunderstood the idea of what you were saying. No one is complaining we've basically hijacked Aeroscout's thread and we're now just discussing a basic idea of how multiplayer could/should be. I personally agree with RedTiger fully on this issue and I am no more lazy or lack social skills than squad members are obsessed, it's just that for most gamers/simmers joining a squad doesn't appeal to them for a number of reasons like time constraints, not being able to predict when they'll be able to fly etc but we still want to have that collective feeling while playing. Now most other games/sims give you the opportunity to log-on and start playing as a team but in LO that rarely happens for the reasons I'm sure we're all aware of. However that's not to say squads aren't important and I'm glad that there are those that are motivated to join squads becasue they are the life blood of any online PC game, they pay for the servers, organize the events and make the missions that we all enjoy playing so much when online .. so hail to all squads :worthy: but I do wish the online capabilities for lockon were given a much higher priority. I always bring up IL2 when ever Lockon and Multiplayer are mentioned in the same sentence because I think Oleg and crew got it exactly right when it comes to making a combat flightsim appeal to the online crowd. I just hope that when Black Shark's multiplayer is fully developed we get the same thing.

I have to say that I have been flying Lockon since it first came out and FFB has never really worked for me, which is why I have always just used the centering force, setting FFB to false. But now it's working great, in fact I can't believe how good it's working and for the first time I am experiencing forces I never even knew existed in Lockon.. e.g, stick rumbles as you approach the over G .. I haven't blacked out yet :D . FFB is a must have for sure... Useful info for M$FFB2 owners; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=65263&postcount=4

I agree with that 100%. In IL2 that's almost exactly what happens. You log on, read the simple mission brief and as soon as you take off you're part of a team effort. The same thing for Americas Army and Armed Assault. However Lockon doesn't really give you that option unless the host spends a considerable amount time in the server which just isn't practical. From my experience of online gaming/simming with out automated missions where one side is declared a winner and you're receiving regular updates through out the mission, even simple updates like how many planes/ pilots are left etc, then team work is more difficult to organize for the casual participant, not impossible becasue it does happen from time to time but it's the expection rather than the rule.

Great Work!! I was hoping to get a new model of the Su33 for LO:FC when BS is released.. Looks like that might not be possible .. :( .. Does that mean the Su27 project might start up again?? :noexpression:
-
Sounds great! For the objective based missions I would like to make one suggestion to aid the ground pounders and the mission as a whole. And that is to weigh the mission in their favor so the targets for A10/Su25 are easy to get to and they can get to them under cover. So many times I've seen targets for the mud movers set between the opposing airfields, or near about, which just makes a difficult job impossible and you just end up getting shot down as you get to the target area. It would be great if the fighters had to search the coast, valleys etc to save their ground units instead of just flying towards the oppositions airport and hopefully it will encourage the fighters to escort too.

You're where a lot of us were a couple of years ago. The problem doesn't really have anything to do with spawn locations but more to do with the lack of online capabilities for the mission editor, also no dedicated server software. This leaves us with only one type of game play TDM (Team Death Match) and after a while that gets kind of boring although coops are cool but they require an active addmin for the most part so you really don't see many of them online which is ashame becasue back when LO first came out coops would pop up quite regularly. The only solution is to mix it up with off line play .. and when you're tired of shooting down AI then go online again for a more competitive experience. I do wish more people would fly online though then I think we would see better missions that would require some team work.... However what I would really like to see is an online engine similar the IL2 series where you're engaged in a complete mission to destroy resources like factories power plants and of course Aircraft and pilots. This gives you something to play for and a reason to protect the bombers and back up players that request an escort etc. I hope flying online with BS is a better experience than LO, but I haven't really read anything about that yet and there doesn't seem to be much discussion about it either .

Sim-mod A-10 Problems - report here
Cosmonaut replied to SuperKungFu's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
After selecting GBU press "O" and fly to the target as you would for CCRP and when the Cuing Marker hits the bottom of the fall line it will release automatically. The cool thing is if you want to release manually then you can fly quite far off target as long as the Cuing Marker is in the HUD area and you release the weapon when the Que is near the bottom of the hud then you're on target with out any need for guess work. Sim-mod A-10 Problems - report here
Cosmonaut replied to SuperKungFu's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Another way ;) Once you select the GBU the diamond will change to a pipper. Now turn on the Pave penny system, for me that's "O" but I could have reassigned it ,..basically it's the same key to turn on the camera for the Su-25T, and this will start tracking the laser. Now all you have to do is fly so the targeting Que slides down the Fall line and the GBU will release automatically. If you want to manually release then wait for the Que to slide about two thirds down the HUD before you release the weapon and as long as the Que is anywhere in the HUD the GBU will the target. -
Have you tried the examples I have posted above?? They are java and it refreshes automatically every second or so which makes it similar to a chat room but not exactly the same which is the point of a shoutbox. People use it to say G/Morning, I'm joining server XXXXXX at this time etc. But Java or flash makes no difference to me heh ;) Here's a screenshot of a shoutbox in use on a COD 4 forum so you guys can see what it looks like in practice;

Will all of the above capabilities be made available for multiplayer? I mean in terms of campaigns left to run on a server while the players online success, whether in a coop or player V player mode, will affect the outcome as you described here: Hornets are quite rude and they usually just jump the cue ;)

Are we still here :music_whistling: . The reason they said that there wouldn't be any updates for this Model was most likely to stop the very thing that is happening in this thread... And that is, people flying in external view while holding up pictures to their screen comparing the image in hand with the simod A10. Time is a factor in any project and I have paid money for FS9 addons that don't even come close to what Yeniceri and team have produced for us. Also some of the comments here aren't criticisms at all they are flat out complaints that their pet part of the A10 is missing a rivet or two .. I mean come on if you ask if something is going to be changed and you are given a reasonable reply, then to go any further is just complaining and only aiding in putting off other members from starting similar projects. I hope those that think of themselves as "critics on behalf of the community" don't see this post as stifling debate that is only meant to make the sim better for all of us becasue that's not it at all what I'm trying to do is give some people in this thread a reality check that they are in danger of ruining the A10 party we're trying to have here. :D :sorcerer::drunk::cheer3nc::prop::clown_2::yay: :holiday:

The team have nothing to apologize for. The A10 looks fan-friggen-tastic and the only thing missing is the fact that I can't smell or feel the heat from the exhaust fumes.. maybe the team can work on that too if they have the time ;) . Guys please read the "Thoughts from the team" section of pdf readme and I think you'll see why this project is complete. It was a huge undertaking to produce a package like this and I can only imagine the amount of time they took out from their own lives to bring us this model. I know it may seem to some that a minor change wouldn't take long to achieve but it's like a chain reaction which would most likely lead to several hours of painting, reshaping, testing, writing, uploading, updating etc. I hope the team are just chilling out with a beer and actually enjoying the A10 like the rest of us, I bet it's a relief for them to actually fly for fun rather than just testing. Looks great! :v:

Just wondering if it's possible to add a shoutbox to the forums? For those that don't know; a Shoutbox/Chatbox is and area at the the top of the forum that allows members to chat. I've set up two examples, feel free to test them out: Shoutbox 1 Shoutbox 2

Gets the smelling salts ... "7-11's" will close OMG!! passes out :pilotfly:
