Cosmonaut replied to Blacknemisis's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
I'm pretty sure I use the mods you're talking about and I'm running 1.12a. Here's a post I made a while ago that might help you. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=288353&highlight=MiG-29+Cockpit+gauges#post288353 -
..and here's why. There's strength in numbers :v:.

customer feedback (sharing is caring)
Cosmonaut replied to Dagger98's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I share your concerns regarding CP software screwing up your system, although its never happened to me, but I also don't like CP software that collects info on my system and doesnt inform me as to what exactly it's doing with it. One question for you: do you have the downloaded version of FC? I have the CD version and even with my concerns I would still get the CD/DVD of BS even with SF. My fear is that they'll move onto to something else that will have me having to place the CD in the drive every time I want to play instead of the once a week situation FC:CD with SF allows me now. If things dont change and ED model the release on FC then if you want SF light, get the CD/DVD version but if you have an affront to reaching for your DVD and don't mind a heavier presents of SF, then get the downloaded version. -
Just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this for Lockon? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=64;t=66196 Make sure to check out his live_fire_dslyecxi_ar15.wmv video.

Although I'm still with ya Ironhand  It would be great. -
Well you could not have been apart of the UBI forums over the past few days and come to the conclusion that Eric is being unreasonable. In fact he has allowed us to discuss the matter longer than any other Mod would have and has also shown more understanding for the entire situation than anyone else. I mean even when his integrity was under fire he still kept his head and let the thread/s go on, that was until it become clear that the event was just getting worse and then the inevitable had to happen which brings us to this thread here. Long live Eric :v:

Sorry for the NOOB question but?
Cosmonaut replied to Blacknemisis's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hi rockwelder, Is it actually possible to use the mouse to look around in BS? And if so how would I go about panning with the mouse and clicking switches. I have been using mouse look since IL2, the original, and there's no way I would consider using anything else seeing as I still consider it to be the best and fastest way to look around the cockpit and maintain SA. Thx for any info. -

Sorry for the NOOB question but?
Cosmonaut replied to Blacknemisis's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Welcome :v: And once you get use to using the mouse to look around you wont need anything else :). Oh and I'd like to know the answer to your second question too, maybe a beta tester could step in and help us both out with the answer :smilewink: -
Usually I view forum arguments as the biggest waste of your life you can think of and the banter is just a lot of "handbags at dawn". However this seems to be affecting some of the more popular and helpful forum members, which inevitably evolved into an "I'm Spartacus so ban me too" situation which was bound to happen and I'm sure comes as no big surprise to anyone. I think most definitely some transparency would be helpful for all concerned especially for those that say members were banned for no reason or those like myself that miss the offending post or behavior and are left wondering WTF is going on. If members were told publicly why they were banned after the offending post then this whole debate could be avoided becasue we could all see exactly what went on, instead of members filling in the blanks themselves and choosing sides which just makes the forum less fun to visit. I mean airing things like that publicly would be the best way IMO and forget about the idea of privacy becasue what is there to be private about on a public forum? It's not like we're lawyers going to court against each other, this is just a forum for a game of all things so if you're going to get banned for a post you made publicly then why not be told publicly you are banned for X days for X reason?

Low level sam systems are easy to defeat, while flying a Mig, although it's probably more realistic taking them on rather than the Medium to long range SAM sites when flying a Mig29. However a Hawk site is just about right, it's not %100 realistic to go up against that system in a Mig but if your mission was critical and your intel sucked then you might have a go :smilewink: at taking out the Sam site before striking your primary target. This is what I do and its pretty damn fun; set up a mission using the pre-made Hawk SAM site and once your RWR starts to light up go in low, 15 to 25 meters. The Hawk will launch at you but it should detonate soon after it leaves the rails or it will fly right by, either way just stay low until you're very close. My weapon of choice is the PB-250, it has a chute and can be CCRP'd from above 50m alt so once you're close enough just fly up to 50 to 60m and aim for anything that's spinning on the Hawk site and it should knock out the radar, then just move onto your primary or finish off the Hawk site. I also like to carry two S-24 rockets one of which can take out two tanks close together so if you miss on your first pass you can swing around for two more attempts. Other bombs I like to use are the Bet-AB-500ShP, this is one of the most insane weapons in the game, it has two stages after release; first a chute deploys then once over the target rockets fire as it slams in to the target ( if you use it at low level then as soon as you drop it press F3 and watch the rockets kick in :D ) .. My Nickname for it is deep throat ;) heh. Also any bomb that doesn't weigh too much works pretty good too just make sure you can release at low Alt becasue some weapons will only work above 100 or 200 meters which is a fatal altitude against the Hawk.

For those that are not that accustom to editing the meinit.xml file here's an easy to follow guide to get the correct release order for the MER's. goto: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\ME and open the meinit.xml file in word pad or note pad, then using the find facility (click Edit then Find) search for MER-3*3 Mk-82. Now simply cut the first <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> group and paste it after the last group eg. So this...: <Launcher CLSID="{60CC734F-0AFA-4E2E-82B8-93B941AB11CF}" Name="MER-3*3 Mk-82" Picture="MK-82.. <Element ShapeName="MBD-3"> <Position X="0" Y="0" Z="0"/> </Element> <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> <Position X="0" Y="-0.384" Z="0"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> </Element> <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> <Position X="0" Y="-0.123" Z="0.160"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="3" Value="-0.6"/> </Element> <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> <Position X="0" Y="-0.123" Z="-0.160"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="3" Value="0.6"/> </Element> </Launcher> <Launcher CLSID="{B83CB620-5BBE-4BEA-910C-EB605A327EF9}" Name="MER-3*3 Rockeye Mk20".... Becomes this..: <Launcher CLSID="{60CC734F-0AFA-4E2E-82B8-93B941AB11CF}" Name="MER-3*3 Mk-82" Picture="MK-82".... <Element ShapeName="MBD-3"> <Position X="0" Y="0" Z="0"/> </Element> <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> <Position X="0" Y="-0.123" Z="0.160"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="3" Value="-0.6"/> </Element> <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> <Position X="0" Y="-0.123" Z="-0.160"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="3" Value="0.6"/> </Element> <Element ShapeName="MK-82"> <Position X="0" Y="-0.384" Z="0"/> <DrawArg Key="1" Value="1"/> <DrawArg Key="2" Value="1"/> </Element> </Launcher> <Launcher CLSID="{B83CB620-5BBE-4BEA-910C-EB605A327EF9}" Name="MER-3*3 Rockeye Mk20".... Same thing for all the MER's. eg: "MER-3*3 Rockeye Mk20" Don't forget to back up before you start editing

Oh man I'm late .. .. Happy Birthday Ice hope you had a good one !!:thumbup: And I hope you didn't wear out the Pole dancer too much :D
-
This mod should be compulsory. . finally it feels like your flying over a dense forest. :D
-
Bumping this MOD:thumbup: It really is a must have and I would recommend the manual installation if you have any Modifications done to your meinit file already. It only takes a couple of minutes.
-
Clean your room :smilewink: .. heh Heck placing the CD in the drive once a week isn't all that bad seeing as every console game and most other PC games require you to place the CD in the drive every time you want to play them. Oh and Welcome :D
-
Heh Yeah I know what you mean but after near six years of simming one thing I have learned is sometimes there is no cure ;) and you just have to roll up your sleeves and manhandle some mods into a sim :D . Well after an hour of fiddling I finally managed to get it all working .. Pheew. I tried the new V2 install but that didn't work either so I had a look at the x,y,z lines and there wasn't any single quotes just double (") so I decided to use the meinit file that came with the TER mod. That worked fine and everything was in the right place so to cut down on my work load of reinstalling all of my mods I used the 1.12a Real world weapons meinit file here: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=210089#post210089 and removed Sheps A10 entries and replaced them with IK's ones then I reinstalled Walmis's F15 with all of my tweaks then installed the new TER's and that did the trick... And now this Camper is happy. :D:D Lockon 1.12a (English FC CD) Windows Xp.

I have the same problem. I'll look into it in more detail tomorrow but I did have to adjust the new CFT tanks for Walmis's F15 because they were out of alignment as well. Maybe some systems just screw up the alignment when installing. :dunno:
