Attached is an Excel matrix with the v1.2.1 US default keyboard assignments. Some of these are commented out in the default file and I have excluded the debug assignments that ED uses. I'll give the A-10C file a looking at this afternoon. Caveat Emptor: this is a difficult file to parse and there may be errors. Always back up files before replacing anything. This should be useful in getting controllers set up again. DCS WORLD US DEFAULT KEY MATRIX V1.2.1.zip

Anyone else seeing this? Tried two fresh installs and update/repair. Get the error immediately when running MP and after trying a CA mission in SP. First time up, it activated successfully. EDITED: Error was resolved with a forced update.

Anyone notice the Combat Pilot Series, apparently by Saitek and using FSX in MP mode? http://combatpilotseries.com/ Looks like up front and monthly charges for dedicated servers and missions?

Why was this moved to Chit-Chat? I think this is relevant to IRIS' future development for DCS. This does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling concerning IRIS DCS products. I find it hard to believe that they can be successful without being more open concerning existing products. That is a shame since I was looking forward to their products withing DCS World.

Did something happen? I cannot locate the IRIS support forums. When I follow the forum link from the IRIS home page, it takes me to the OzX forum. There I saw that IRIS had directed that their public forums be removed. Is this accurate? Can I not access historical forums for IRIS? Also, I found now reviews on AVSIM for IRIS products ... this seems odd. Apologies if this has been mentioned already ... I could not find in search.

Try LCtrl "M" Ice. It's in amongst the UFC functions.

SimHQ interview - DCS Q&A with Matt Wagner
blaster454 replied to 159th_Viper's topic in Community News
While I welcome the auto updater for World, as well as all the new 3rd party promises, I still think that ED is really not putting the priority where it would help most. It has been two plus years since I bought the beta of A-10C and finding out that I probably won't be seeing a terrain update (Nevada) for many months is not pleasant. And I somehow feel that ED places us on-line users in a lower priority. I know our squad has had to put DCS on hold because of the MP problems we run into. I just wish I would see more focused effort on a few issues and features than the broad brush being used now to paint a DCS World filled with modules. Yes, I know that's not a very business-oriented outlook ... I was just wishing. I will continue to sit here and wait and watch and support ED with purchases when the product(s) fit my desires. -
Nothing wrong with the T-Frog.

Did you download and install the P51 module? It is bundled within the DCS World files.

DCS: A-10C Warthog, Version 1.2.0 Available
blaster454 replied to Wags's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Please, a clarification. Are these module releases patches or full installs? In other words, is it necessary to de-install the core (World) and the A-10C or BS2 modules then reinstall the new core (World 1.2.0) and then any modules (CA, A10C, BS2)? I understand that the old stand-alone versions of A-10C and BS2 can co-exist separately but I do not want multiple versions of the core and it's modules installed at this time. I assume that since the sizes of the new core and modules are the same as the installs were originally, that these new files are complete installs. Another way of asking this: can the 1.2.0 core and modules be installed over the existing core and modules or is a wipe required? Also, I see in the debug areas that some suggestions are being made to not install on an SSD. I have my current installs on an SSD and would prefer to keep them there. Is there a problem with World or any modules on an SSD? Thanks for the pre-release and super bug-fix listing! -
It is a bit disappointing that there is not even an acknowledgement for Peter's post. Are these issues on the table for a patch?

Thanks for the clarification. I am sure you all are aware that with all the new excitement (World, 3P devs, ...) that there are always going to be questions. I have one concerning the "integration" of module files into the core DCS: World installation. Looking at the way the A-10C module installed, I wonder if there is some thought going to a way to "gracefully" separate install files? It looks like the A-10C module installed pretty tightly into the DCS: World folders ... not sure if there was any overlap of files. My question derives from two sources: a way to uninstall a module without damaging the core installation, and what happens when mods are installed that affect one module but not another (or World mods)? Seems like this would be the ideal time for ED to have in it's toolbox an idea of file structure that would meet the needs of de- and re-installs. And I am thinking that mods are going to be a big plus hit with the core-module concept and opening development to 3P groups so that a folder structure making mods easy and usable would be a good thing. Any thoughts along these lines?

FYI and a bit OT -- I picked up the Acer T231H touch screen monitor through Amazon. It's 1920 x 1080 and ideal for Helios. Had it for almost a year and performance it great.

Customized Joysticks
blaster454 replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
DigiKey is the US distributor ... look under either resistive joysticks or under flight sim joysticks ... looks like prices are in the $100 to $200 range for the simpler ones (not the standard CH sim joysticks). -
Warthog Manuals In Kindle Format? (MOBI)
blaster454 replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Probably not a help in your case, but the Kindle DX does a bang-up job with PDF files. I have a ton of stuff loaded in and so far it has displayed everything perfectly, including tables and diagrams...and no converting: just transfer the PDF files to the doc folder on the Kindle. -
I have uploaded a new DCS A-10C v1.1.0.9 Key Assignment Matrix to the user files section of the ED main page. It is awaiting mod approval and if approved should replace the matrix that you find in the DCS-10C doc folder. Any suggestions for improvements or additions? Is this at all useful?

Which 1920 x 1080/1200 Touch Screens for Helios?
blaster454 replied to DTWD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm using the new Acer T231H and it's working very well. It has two side fixed legs and a center back leg that allows easy angle adjustment ... mine is set to about 15 degrees. The screen is reflective but careful angular position and control of back lights should help. I am using Cap Loz's profile and it is beautiful in high res. -
TBH, I don't remember the toads ... lots of lizards though. The thing that changed my life over there was sitting under the bomb bay of a buff eating cold hotdogs and noodles swimming in a plate full of rainwater ... saw a truck sitting nearby with the occupants all warm and dry and asked who they were. "Oh, that 's those EOD guys ... they got it made!" I had my cross training request in within the week. :D

Really makes me melancholy ... I was stationed at Spangdahlem from '67 to '70 ...lived in Preist all that time and loved it!

Apologize for the OT ... mods can move if desired. Ah, how things have changed ... Not! Way back in the 60's the B52 wing at Mather AFB were tasked with a wartime deployment. We loaded every one of our Buffs with iron bombs (Mk 82 back then) both internal and external. They took off in a mass formation and it was a sight to see. We then loaded aboard a lot of KC-135's to follow the bomb wing -- that's where I experienced my first explosive decompression . When we got to Guam, hungry and thirsty and tired, we spent weeks doing nothing but change fuze settings (M904 and M905) as the frag order changed ... sometimes 3 or 4 times daily. It was a long time before they finally committed to actually fly those long bombing missions. I remember a lot about the old Guam. The Navy PX was the place to buy everything! Downtown Agana was not such a big place. Watching the rain squalls miles off the runway as they approached, soaked everyone thoroughly, and then departed to leave behind more heat and humidity. There used to be a store called Jade East on the road from Anderson to Agana ... neat merchandise and good looking store clerks. My first experience with barracks that had slatted windows and light bulbs in the closets (they called them dorms a lot later). A "pitch and putt" golf course that presented you with some of the biggest spiders I've ever seen if you hooked a little into the jungle. Some of the best and hottest beaches I've ever seen (and some of the best sun burn cases). Getting lost driving a jammer (MJ-1 bomb truck) looking for the bomb dump and winding up down town. :megalol: And our favorite recreation on base (besides the insect-plagued outdoor theater) was going to the base ops cafeteria when the commercial jets came in to Anderson ... it's hard to forget those 60's style stewardess uniforms (and no, there were no male flight attendants back then :)). Sorry for the war stories ... it just brought back a lot of memories reading this thread.

Couldn't you use a trigger to define the range zone then set a flag when the player is inside that zone. After that test for the player's altitude and if is is less than 8,000 feet and the zone flag is set, send your message to RTB?

[How To] Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts
blaster454 replied to icemaker's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Running with the high preset option and in the Easy East George Spring instant mission: Running 1 screen & no exports: 44 fps Running 2 screens & MFCD exports: 40 fps Running 2 screens & Helios and all exports: 37 fps I've not tried yet in a complex mission or over cities but I would probably selectively lower some of the graphics options. The above tests were with Win 7 Aero running. Will try later with Aero off. -
