Nvidia Drivers for GTX1060
Migo replied to the_soupdragon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am also running a 1060 and had bad performance with latest drivers. I am now using 375.70 which is running fine. -
Geforce driver 375.70 is running fine.

From my experience DCS will stutter if it is not running on an SSD. No. Just look at the charts http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_radeon_rx_460_strix_gaming_4gb_review,24.html Best Regards, Migo

A-10C Georgian hammer campaign issues
Migo replied to scotth6's topic in User Created Missions General
When you fly to the IP (ingress point) they should show up under "Other". You usually get a notification like "Razor waiting for orders" or something like that. You want to tell them to advance once you have eliminated the threats. -
A-10C Georgian hammer campaign issues

You can contact the ground units via one of the radios. Open UHF radio by pressing LAlt + Numpad "-" and then press F10 for "Other". Adding to your rant, often the ground units just stop advancing at some point and the mission cannot be completed. -

Anybody tried the new thrustmaster pedals?
Migo replied to harf4ng's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I own the TFRP rudder pedals and can recommend them if you don't have the money for the more advanced ones. -
2016 Hardware Benchmark - DCS World 1.5.x
Migo replied to tiborrr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just tested out all the graphics options and setting water and civ traffic from "high" to "medium" raised my fps in critical situations from 30 to 60 fps. In case somebody else is also struggling with fps at times and doesn't know this already. -
Saitek Cyborg X fly 5 won't go straight
Migo replied to ThirtykayDEC's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You have to trim the aircraft for it to fly a straight line. Do you trim it? -
Did you check usage of the individual cores? If one of the cores is at 100% load it will show like 25% overall usage. Your cpu will be bottleneck until you get one that clocks around 4.5Ghz.
-
Exigeous did you install OS and DCS to SSD or DCS only and left the OS on an HDD?
-
Good that you turned hyperthreading off, first it slows down applications which do not need 8 cores and second it reduces the voltage needed by the CPU.
-
Of course it will run better. As long as you install the OS and DCS on the SSD. The capacity of the SSD, you want it to have enough capacity for everything that needs to run fast. If you only play DCS a 64GB SSD would be enough. I would recommend a 128GB because they are faster and you got some additional space. I think 256GB SSD is overkill. You install all applications on the SSD and put all the big media files on the additional HDD.

If your CPU heats up that much at stock speed there must be something wrong. Usually the default CPU cooler will keep a quad core at around 55-65°C.
-
Of course you can overclock. You can overclock the most new CPUs a lot without even having to increase Vcore (Core voltage). This means only a small increase in heat. I would say with Hyper Threading disabled in BIOS (which eats up fps anyway) your CPU should do 3.5-3.7Ghz(with TurboBoost) on default voltage level. Then with good cooling you could go up to 4-4.2Ghz. As long as the CPU doesn't heat up over 75°C in stress testing the temperature is fine. Read a proper overclocking guide before doing this though.

Why do you need such an expensive mainboard ? Want to make new benchmark records using liquid oxygen ? I would buy the Gigabyte P67X-UD3 B3 or some other mainboard which has good overclocking functionality and costs around a 100$, so 180$ less. Now you got 180$ to buy a fast SSD additional to the HDD. SSD is crucial for playing DCS smoothly. Spend the remaining bucks for a better PSU as pointed out by chichlidfan. To be on the safe site get a PSU with 600W or above from BeQuiet, Enermax, Corsair etc... I killed my 550 Watt BeQuiet with an overclocked i7 860 @ 4.2Ghz, an overclocked HD5850 and having all the flying equipment plugged in. Don't save money on this, those PSUs are avalaible from 90$ and above. Regards, Migo

You remember that bloom mod for Black Shark back in 2009 ? That was EnB mod, too (edited DirectX ini). Problem was that you could not tab out of DCS and then tab in again, you had to restart the sim. I think the default HDR looks pretty good.
-
I was able to run the sim as smooth as it could get with an i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz, an overclocked GTX 570 and a Crucial M3 128Gb SSD. First you should set "1024 everyframe" to "1024". Made a huge difference in performance for me. I had everything maxed out and fps were >50 fps. A SSD helps a lot against stuttering.

Track IR 5 sold to Mystif.

I won't leave flight simming. I just need the money right now. ;-) I lowered the TIR 5 price. I think 120€ should be more than ok for a like-new product I bought 3 weeks ago for 150€.

I'm selling a HOTAS Warthog and a Track IR 5. Both are in new condition and only 1 month old. Shipping from Germany. Warthog: 260€ TrackIR 5: 120€ (sold) greetings, Migo

As it is now I am resigned with the new colors. But I hope they will try to improve it again because it is not looking too realistic to me. I would love to have an option to choose between the old and the new setting. Just start the 1st campaign mission and look at the colours that really doesn't look good :> Nate already mentioned this is because of the changed terrain lighting. Look at the bottom right corner ;-) Greetings, Migo

The first thing I tried but that just makes it worse.
