Sorry you find the AI dogfighting boring. We are adding Rookie and Random campaigns and have changed the ROE to Return Fire to allow the player to get the first shot before they engage. Hopefully this gives more options than flying against the Ace AI. As ED improves the AI then hopefully the dogfighting will become more challenging.

Best to post a .trk of your flight. Some trigger is not firing properly if you not hearing from the FE after the target gets splashed. Are you using VIACOM or any mods?

AATQ#2
Sabre-TLA replied to Biga42's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
Certainly not intended. We are retesting all the A-10C missions so we will investigate this one and see if we can improve the landing visuals. -
Yes you should use guns. This is a Danger Close mission so you need to assess the situation and pick the appropriate weapon (even if different from what the JTAC is asking for). The blue on blue is because the troops are getting killed by the splash damage from the maverick. I recommend guns when troops are close by. The mission only cares that you eliminate the threats not necessarily what specific weapon is used. However if you use guns on all targets you might run out of ammo before all threats are eliminated so you need to use your best judgement.

Trigger Problems
Sabre-TLA replied to jasonbirder's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
We retested the mission and it played as expected. Make sure you get to angels 8 as quickly as you can (10 degrees or greater nose up attitude and greater than 180 knots should do it). Once established at angels 8 the voice overs will kick in and the mission will play as expected. -
Trigger Problems

We are retesting all the A-10C campaigns so I'll bump this mission higher up on the list to see if we can make some changes to make it play better. Hopefully we can get the improvements in for the next patch update. -
Hints and Tips for the F-5E BFM Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in F-5E Aggressors BFM Campaign
You need to use the RADIO ITEM ADD and SWITCHED CONDITION triggers. To add a radio item select a trigger that is appropriate for when the message should be added (likely at the start) and use RADIO ITEM ADD, name it, provide a FLAG like 100 and a value of 1. Then in the SWITCHED CONDITION for CONDITIONS use FLAG IS TRUE (100) and then under ACTIONS do a MESSAGE TO ALL and include your NAV Point details. Also include a FLAG OFF (100) to turn flag 100 off. Then anytime a player using the F10 Radio selects your radio item flag 100 will be set and the SWITCHED CONDITION trigger will fire and display your message. Since you turn flag 100 off after it's triggered it's ready to go again the next time the player selects the radio message. -
Trigger Problems
Sabre-TLA replied to jasonbirder's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
Does it do the same thing in the practice mission? The triggers are near identical. Any MODS installed? They can sometimes mess up triggers. We will retest and report as soon as we can. -
Trigger Problems
Sabre-TLA replied to jasonbirder's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
We are retesting all the BFT missions because of new voice overs so we will continue with the Advanced campaign and correct any issues found. Do you have any MODS installed as we have seen they can cause trigger issues. The voice triggers are centered around the waypoints so if you fly them directly they should fire. Please post a .trk file and we can investigate further. -
Yes we are working on it!

Sorry this has been taking so long. We really were hoping our updated campaign with the new voice overs would have been released by now but it's been delayed for a variety of reasons. Updates to stable are also taking longer with the new patch model ED introduced. We will take a look and see if we can back-prop our fixes if we can't get the updated campaign done before the next stable patch update.

The difference is the engagement model with the bandits. The BFM campaign is one vs one guns only engagements where as the ACM campaign is two vs two engagements with guns and sidewinders. You will need the F-5 module and the NTTR map module but no other plane modules. The missions are done as realistically as possible but they are very similar in execution as they are replicating exercises against different bandit types. We have included campaigns for each of the AI types: Rookie, Ace and Random. So if you find fighting the Ace AI too hard you can start with Rookie. Random can be any AI skill level. You can read a review of the BFM campaign here.

Yes sorry for not replying sooner. We have one bug with the ILS that we are still trying to figure out. The game crashes when you switch to the ILS in certain conditions. We saw the same thing in our F-15C Aggressors BFM campaign so we don't know if it's mission specific (and something we can fix) or a bug in the game engine. Once we get that sorted then we should be close to getting the files to ED. We don't want to release the campaign with a known bug (plus it breaks one of the missions). Unfortunately we cannot give a specific ETA on the release.

Sorry I missed this thread. We recommend that you take out the air threats (SAM and AAA) yourself. Usually the AI won't attack if there are air threats in the area. So best to use them on targets after the air threats are eliminated. Also when sending the targets to your wingmen make sure you are close enough to the target (and they are in formation with you). There have been some changes to the AI so they need to be close to the targets to see them. If you still have problems post a .trk file (of either the practice mission or qualification mission) and we can investigate further.

The diagram is showing the pattern after you have entered it from the straight in approach. First you need to takeoff - fly to WP 2 then turn left toward WP 3 and get an approach vector for Batumi. Reduce altitude and enter the pattern at pattern altitude when you are about 10 miles out. If you fly the waypoints directly then the mission should complete even if you don't get the voice triggers from the FE. The triggers are centered around the waypoints but we will see if we can make them more forgiving.

Without seeing your actual flight plan it's hard to say why some of the trigger zones didn't activate. The trigger zones are close to the waypoints so if you fly the flight plan directly then you should hit the trigger zones. My guess is maybe the turns are not sharp enough taking you off the flight plan and missing the zones. We are updating the missions with new voice overs so we will check the zones and see if we can make them larger to reduce the risk of missing them. You can compare your flight to Recon Stewart's video as his example is still relevant with the current trigger zones:

Very dissapointed with F18 Agressors Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to gonvise's topic in F/A-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign
For an alternative perspective on these campaigns read this thread. You must exit the range to get the mission debrief and scoring. Did you get the debrief? Post a .trk file and we can investigate. -
FA-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in F/A-18C Aggressors BFM Campaign
Did you call "Ready"? When you are within 5nm of the the India WP you should get a message to call "Ready" to start the engagement. If it's not happening please post a trk file and we can investigate. -
Love it! Keep up the great work!
