We learned today that recent AI timing changes have caused some AI aircraft to crash into landing aircraft and other AI vehicles due to changes in the AI starting timing in the campaign missions for this campaign. We have updated all the campaign files and submitted them to ED for inclusion in the next patch. The practice missions are ok but please continue to report any issues you find while playing. You can report them in this Forum or to us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com. Thanks.

Recently we attended AERO150 in Gatineau Quebec. Some background and a link to some photos we took at the event can be found at our blog link: http://mapleflagmissions.blogspot.ca/2017/05/aero150.html It was a great show though the weather did not cooperate in the least. :(

Glad you got it sorted. After every DCS update we check the controls to make sure nothing got re-mapped or changed. A few times we had to rebind our HOTAS mappings. Not very often though. Our is showing '\' as the COMMs menu. Nose Wheel Steering is 'S'. This is the default.

This thread has some good advice on TACAN navigation. It's definitely harder than having pre-programmed waypoints and a HUD heading. Once you learn, it will become second nature and a good backup if you do lose your NAV systems in the more modern fighters.

Love your work! Can't wait to see it!

Many folks get fooled by the ILS graphic images. Please review this post and try it again.

F-5E ACM Campaign - First mission and first impression.
Sabre-TLA replied to Sydy's topic in F-5E Aggressors ACM Campaign
We put this hints and tips page together for the BFM campaign but it's equally applicable to the ACM campaign too. It also has some links to some useful videos. -
The F-5E Aggressors ACM campaign puts you in the cockpit of an F-5E Tiger II, as a new Aggressor pilot with the 65th Aggressor Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base. Based on real world procedures, you will fly as Red Air against Blue Air Forces. The campaign features 12 missions against dis-similar aircraft including the F-4E, F-5E, F-14A, F-15C, F-15E, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C, MiG-29G, CF-188, MiG-21 and unknown. Each mission is a 2 vs 2 engagement with AIM-9 Heat Seeking Missiles as well as Guns so you will have a wingman for help. Also included are 11 air-start practice missions so you can perfect your ACM tactics, techniques and procedures. We also placed them in their own campaign so you should see them in the campaigns folder. Documentation includes the RED FLAG Spins, Red Forces In Flight Guide, Maps, Diagrams, Custom Kneeboards and Mission Data cards. You will need DCS 2.0, the F-5E Module and the NTTR Map Module for this campaign. All the missions both Campaign and Single Player are available under this path: <your drive letter>:Program FilesEagle DynamicsDCS World 2 OpenAlphaModscampaignsF-5E ACM Documentation for the campaign can be found under this path: <your drive letter>:Program FilesEagle DynamicsDCS World 2 OpenAlphaModscampaignsF-5E ACMDoc Hints and Tips: Study the documentation and review the mission briefings which are critical to mission success. Make sure you drop your center tank before engaging. Use the F10 Menu to communicate when you are READY to start the engagements. You can exit the missions after the final mission message or continue to fly and land - it's your choice. We hope you enjoy this campaign. We believe it will make you a better pilot helping you to succeed in future combat missions. Good luck! Please watch our blog for updates: http://mapleflagmissions.blogspot.ca/

The (re) Making of an A-10C Pilot
Sabre-TLA replied to BeachAV8R's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Yep that's correct you need to calculate your TOT for BFT10 (my previous comments were related to BFT12 - sorry for that). The waypoint timings are tighter (we give you 10 seconds because of the voice over time but you need to be at the waypoint between 310 and 340 seconds - 5 mins + 40 secs would be the max time allowed). Before 310 seconds would be considered too early. Adjust for other timings, waypoints if indicated and don't forget to hit the stated altitude block. Hope that helps. -

Which mission are you talking about? I'm assuming you meant BFT12 - The Low Level Flight plan. Sorry I should have attached a screenshot. Here it is. If it's BFT10 then you need to calculate your TOT when the FE tells you (typically 5 mins from your current position). -
The (re) Making of an A-10C Pilot
Sabre-TLA replied to BeachAV8R's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
It's in the briefing but near the bottom. TTQ is taking longer than expected as we have been tweaking the gameplay to get it playing as best as we can. We are testing the final mission now so hopefully we can get the package to ED soon. -
Even better would be to use a program like VoiceAttack (we use an older program called Game Commander 2 but it does the same thing). This allows you to actually say words like "Copy", "Engage Bandits" and "Ready" and executes the comms menu mapping for you. It's so fast that you don't even notice the comms menu coming up and operating. It's very immersive and works great.

The (re) Making of an A-10C Pilot
Sabre-TLA replied to BeachAV8R's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
The TOTs are listed in the briefing. The trigger zone is 1000m centered on the waypoint. We have 2 flags that are set 30 seconds before and 30 seconds after the stated TOT. If you are at the waypoint before the first flag is set (at the waypoint before 30s to TOT) then you are too early. Likewise if you are at the waypoint 30s after TOT then you are too late. If you stay close to the flight lead he should get you there at the appropriate times. You can still pass the mission even if you miss a waypoint TOT. Use the practice mission to determine your spacing behind lead to help with the TOT timings. -
Glad you are enjoying the campaigns. Since they are paid DLCs they are protected so the ME will not let you save any changes. Also the work is copyrighted so any changes would be considered a derived work and you would need to get a license and legal approval from ED to publish them. If there is interest from the community and ED agrees maybe we can release similar campaigns for other aircraft types.

Leopard 2 Basic Vehicle Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in User Created Missions General
No that's one of our original CA campaigns from 2015 that we hope to release on the ED store at some point. It is on our list to be updated but we have a few other campaigns in the works at the moment. Sorry no ETA yet. :music_whistling: -
F-5E ACM Campaign - First mission and first impression.
Sabre-TLA replied to Sydy's topic in F-5E Aggressors ACM Campaign
Awesome Sydy! Yes when that module is available it would be great fun. I've read that it is being considered as a replacement for the A-10 for low intensity conflicts. Here is a link with some more details: http://www.combataircraft.net/2016/08/16/is-the-usaf-serious-about-oa-x/ -
Very sad. He contributed some awesome mods. His legacy will live on. RIP and deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Awesome BeachAV8R! That's a great write-up! Thanks for sharing this. -
Sure! Email it to us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we will take a look. That first stage you have listed is from a different campaign so you might want to set that back to it's original setting.

Sounds like the Egress trigger isn't working. If you hear the "Cleared in Hot" message at the IP waypoint and then later when you Egress between WP 8 and 9 you should hear "Let's review the Egress Checklist..." To skip the mission you can follow the instructions in this post. We have also put together the following suggestions when triggers don't work as expected: Missions not playing as expected? For most users the missions play fine however for some the missions don't play as expected. Missing voice overs or other actions that are expected don't occur. This is a sign something is wrong so take the steps below to try and fix it: 1. Fly the mission flight plan as briefed. If you deviate you may miss some important trigger zones which will affect mission execution. 2. Compare your experience to the Recon Stewart Videos If you see things happening in the video that are not happening in your experience when you are doing #1 then there is some problem causing the triggers to fail. 3. Uninstall any mods and do a DCS Repair. We have seen mods impact some missions and a DCS Repair will correct any game engine files that have become corrupted or are not working properly. 4. Uninstall and reinstall the campaign or mission. This can also help repair any problems with the campaign or mission files. 5. Update your video card driver. We have seen this correct trigger problems for some users. 6. If there is still a problem open a support issue with ED. There could have been a recent game engine change that altered the trigger behavior so a mission update may be required to get the mission working properly again. Continue to report issues on the forum if the above steps fail so other users will be aware.

At the bottom of this post are some instructions on how to edit the logbook to set the campaign stage to the desired mission. You want to set it to stage 3 to skip the FAM flight (stage 2). The Arrival mission is stage 1. File name should be "F-5E - BFM01 1 vs 1 GO vs F-5E.miz"

Did you notice your score (result) when you quit the mission? We have noticed that sometimes the game engine takes a few seconds to update the result. A score > 50 should allow you to move to the next campaign mission. If you quit too quickly the score might not have updated staying at 50 so the mission repeats.
