Problem installing flaming cliffs.
golfsierra2 replied to Rhino4's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Reading your problem description, I'm convinced that it is a driver / video card problem. If the skins were already missing / wrong before you tried upgrading to FC (1.1), and you wrote that you tried 3 different Lock-On CDs, you have to fight two different probs: Wrong/missing skins in Lock-On and a malfunctioning upgrade (error code 3). I tend to think that maybe the upgrade error also is a side effect of a bad Lock-On installation (which could be the reason for the skin probs). Do you have another computer just to validate your Lock-On CDs ? If a clean Lock-On installation will run properly on another machine, you'll have proof that your current rigg is no good for Lock-On. -
Super dump question 1.12a or 1.12b
golfsierra2 replied to A.S's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It is not even affecting Win2000. The difference between 1.12a and 1.12b is: 1.12b is required for Vista, otherwise the Starforce copy protection will not work and block the game from starting All other Windows OS can run on 1.12a or 1.12b, it doesn't matter. Using XP, there is not benefit from using 1.12b - it's the same as 1.12a except for the modified Starforce driver. -

Saving control settings- keyboard, joystick
golfsierra2 replied to SPUDLEY1977's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You can save a copy of your config files and copy them back if you need to. Example: Find your controller.ini (might also show as USBGameController443311668800.ini or similar) under Lock On/Input/ All other ini-files (keyboard, mouse, TrackIR) can be found there as well. Under Lock On/Config/ you can find your Controls.ini -
Probably they took the site down due to many Caucasus-related posts. See Announcement in the header part of the forum.

According to babelfish.yahoo.com: "Max. operational overloading"
-
Depends on the age / total flight time elapsed of the airframe. An older airframe might be limited to lower G's due to fatigue. A new one will be allowed to be loaded with max G's according manufacturer specs. airwar.ru lists the T-Frog with a max of 6.5 G http://www.airwar.ru/enc/attack/su25t.html

PB 08 Maps If you like to see more about the exercise area (it's huuuuuuge), visit http://www.raafais.gov.au/pb08 and DL the map for free. This is a service provided by the RAAF.

PB08 update More great pictures, including a F/A-18 air refuelling sequence, a C-130J dispensing flares and some shots from the PB 08 open day at RAAF base Darwin: http://www.defence.gov.au/media/download/2008/Jun/index.htm BTW: The German Flag ist represented only by two guys, me and another fellow here down in Glenbrook.

http://www.defence.gov.au/pitchblack08/gallery/20080613/index.htm Some of you might be interested in what is going on right now and for the next two weeks Down Under. The RAAF is conducting once again a large-scale live flying exercise out of the bases at Darwin and Tindal. Unfortunatelly I have to stay with the CAOC at Glenbrook Base near Sydney, planning the show. Hope you enjoy the pictures, I think there will be more available on the web as the exercise moves on. BTW: It's wintertime in Australia, frickin cold with wind and rainshowers here in Sydney.

Blue Angels plane went down today..
golfsierra2 replied to Cdr.Instigator's topic in Military and Aviation
The accident was bad enough, I admitt. But on the other side I find it useful to provide the background information about why it happened, because this always is the question that come into mind when such an accident occurs. I still see nothing wrong in adding final information to this thread. I think it should be closed now. Case closed. -

Pilot failed to compensate for G-forces Thought this might be of interest for some of you folks. Found it today while reading some papers at Glenbrook RAAF near Sydney (participating in Ex PITCH BLACK 08 ): The USN final report on the April 2007 loss of an F/A-18 pilot during a performance of the BA aerial demonstration team concluded the pilot failed to properly tense his muscles to counter the G-forces from a high-speed turn. "in his final turn to attempt to rendezvouz with the other Blues, he put a very fast, high-G turn on the aircraft. A real aggressive turn," Navy spokesman Cpt Jack Hanzlik said. The turn subjected the pilot to six Gs of force. The BA fly without G-suits. Source: DDAAFS Aviation Safety feedback, April 2008, page 9 -
Why do servers forbid Tacview ACMI file recording?!
golfsierra2 replied to Alexrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well, but isn't most of the data (or even all) transmitted by the game engine itself anyway ? How else could a client create a complete simulation with all the other aircraft positions / data ? I think, that with the host system as a node, all data are shared between all participants of an online mission anyway. And this is beside the export LUA for Tacview. If you wanted to see all other aircraft, one could join with a second IP and using a second client with a modified script allowing external view or Map view despite the settings are disabled at the host system. I think, this is possible to achieve, if somebody really has that much 'criminal energy' to do so... -
Do this in Lock-on, but don't do this in real life... http://shock.military.com/Shock/videos.do?displayContent=165351&ESRC=airforce-a.nl

Makes me wonder if the fuel consumption of AI driven MiG-29S is higher than that of a human piloted MiG-29S: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=20125 -
Your system specs and OS please ?? Check CPU / GPU temp with this or any other suitable program http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motherboard_Monitor In your Lock-On/temp directory you will find error.log errors.log system.log that might help you

Did you mixup DL with activations ? If you have the DL version, you have activations left (Starforce activations that you need after new install without saving the reg key first) You can DL FC as often as you want, because you already paid for it and have a registration number for it. It's the number of Starforce activations, that is limited not the number of downloads. You'll get 5 activations after downloading FC.

x52 Pro MFD - LUA template
golfsierra2 replied to JaBoG32_Prinzartus's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I recommend to contact Balu of the vJG71. He developed similar software for displaying data on a G15 keyboard. -
I'm sure the red square does not disappear, just zoom in slowly, you will see it moving aside until it left the map. Re-center if necessary.

Lock-On's Current Multiplayer State
golfsierra2 replied to Grimes's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You don't need to talk in sentences, use Brevities instead. That's what they were invented for... Long babbling will only fill up your comms and deny your mates from calling out important bandit info, so keep it short.
