  11. JimMack Memorial Trophy See http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2053186#post2053186
  12. Dear friends, one year ago on April 23rd, 2013, our friend Jim Mackonochie - known as JimMack - passed away. To honor him, the JimMack Memorial Trophy was provided. The trophy should go to a person of the flight sim community, who - in the spirit or JimMack - either has supported the community in an outstanding way or has shown outstanding fairness and dedication towards other players. All details here: http://www.lockonfiles.com/topic/39607-jimmack-memorial-trophy/
  13. AFAIK you have to de-activate the installation first, before deleting the installation. That would create a "suspense" and you can activate it afterwords with no activation loss. If you want to install the game on a new hardware, that's a different story and you will actually loose one activation each time that you install the game on a new HW. My recollections are a bit foggy here...
  14. Couldn't agree more. I tried to find some news about this project and found none. It was not even clear to me that RRG is the developer. I would never have looked here without some hints from this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121394 DCS WWII: Europe 1944 definitely needs its own place, highly visible and easy to find.
  15. Is it too early for a dedicated DCS WWII: Europe 1944 subforum yet? I'd like to see it opened and filled with updates by the devs. Thanks!
  16. See here: http://www.gamershell.com/download_2605.shtml and here http://www.4players.de/4players.php/spieldownloads/Downloads/1540/0/Lock_On_Modern_Air_Combat.html There are more videos to find. Also try here http://www.checksix-fr.com/
  17. I would say, the button mapping is messed up. Have you checked in the calibration tool whether the fire button is set up properly or not? Have you checked the in-game mapping of the buttons in FC3? You also might want to try the x52 profile provided here: http://www.lockonfiles.com/topic/36359-fc2-saitek-x52pro-profiles/
  18. I don't think so. More likely than throwing money after Ubisoft for an outdated game, DCS 1.2.7 finally created the bridge/adaptation for FC3, which allows an installation purely based on software components owned by ED. To me, a software workaround was implemented in DCS 1.2.7 to legally omit the Ubisoft-owned Lock-On installation.
  19. http://video.stuttgarter-zeitung.de/index.php?bcpid=6936081001&bclid=3612811001&bctid=3066805861001 On January 16, 2014, the Luftwaffe lost a MRCA Tornado. During a training flight in the evening, it crashed near to an Autobahn. Both crew members ejected safely. Investigations have started.
  20. Yes, beware of Flankers and Fulcrums with their EOS. They like chasing poor F-15Cs, sneaking in behind them and call "Booh" with an R-73 ... And why do they do so ? Because they can !
  21. Radar uses the Doppler Effect to find targets amongst all the background noise. This is a frequency shift in the radar signal received. If you are approaching an opponent or flying away from him, there will be a notable Doppler Effect in the radar signal reflected and returning from your aircraft. But there is a noise filter in every radar. If the Doppler is too low (speed difference between you and the opponent to low), the radar will loose lock on your aircraft. That is "the notch". The ideal way of staying long "in the notch" is to fly a circle around your opponent with almost no speed difference to him. You become almost invisible to his radar.
  22. Thanks for the link, impressive work indeed! I'll keep your work in mind. Could you do a book cover ? Please PM me.
  23. No, unless you try to modify the files with an appropriate software (3DSMAX etc). But this is a job for experts. The software is expensive and you need long training to understand how to use it.
