  1. Within the Warsaw Pact Air Defense System, MiG29 mostly were operated with GCI support. GCI would identify the target(s) and MiG29 would be scrambled for interception. With their organic radar off, the MiGs would be guided for an intercept course abeam or from the rear hemisphere IOT to avoid the opponents radar. Attack would be initiated by using GCI parameters and EOS. Own radar would be used for firing radar guided missiles, not for scanning the airspace (and by that giving up the momentum of surprise).
  2. BTW: ATC real world is working with nautical miles and feet (ICAO standard). Even NATO GCI is working with miles and feet or Mach numbers.
  3. No. An aircraft is no car. You could do the math like navigators do or estimate your distance travelled by frequently checking your position against known waypoints. Modern aircraft with GPS support of course do have all those fancy features...
  4. To be more precisely: There is the original Lock On (with patches available up to 1.12b) and there is Flaming Cliffs , Flaming Cliffs 2 and Flaming Cliffs 3. The original old Lock On still is required to install Flaming Cliffs versions. DCS modules don't require Lock On to be installed. Flaming Cliffs 3 is online compatible with other DCS user but then requires the free DCS World to be installed, too.
  5. First, you would have to locate the TGA file of the kneeboard. It should be somewhere in one of the CDDS container in the Bazar\World directory. In previous times, there was a CDDS explorer available (I think, it was a feature within the LOMAN tool) which allowed for exploring the graphics container. Once the TGA is located, you should be able to extract it from the CDDS container and manipulate it with photoshop. Be carefull to maintain the mask of the file (TGA format!). Save the new TGA back to the CDDS container and test it in the simulation. After some try and error cycles, you should have your version of the kneeboard available in the game.
  6. Depending on where you live, there are several opportunities: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/278-3262327-7170851?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Lock%20On http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2/192-9941849-5474939?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Lock%20On and of course ebay
  7. Wikipedia by no means is an accurate source of confidential technical data, however the AMRAAM is listed with a max speed of Mach 4, while the R-27ER is listed with a max speed of Mach 4.5. If ED used those data, then they did right, because this is what commonly is known about those missiles. The actual data may vary, but we'll never know...
  8. A bit dusty, however most of the tactics and background information provided here still is valid for FC3: See http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/
  9. Have you tried to run this exe with admin rights?
  10. FC3 was produced to work with other DCS modules. FC 2 will not work with DCS, but you can still buy it: http://fighter-collection.com/cft/tfc-flight-sim-shop-europe/ http://fighter-collection.com/cft/tfc-flight-sim-shop-none-european-sales-only/ http://lockon.co.uk/en/shop/
  11. 1. Have you sent the error file as advised? 2. Links that may help you in locating the problem: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=95562 http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=99608 Could be a problem with the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable packages (check both 32 and 64bit versions) 3. Please stop double posting in different sections of this forum.
  12. Thank you for taking the time to produce these files. Excellent work! Many will use it, I'm sure.
  14. Ebay or amazon might have used copies. In fact, you should look for "Lock On Modern Air Combat" ast the original baseline game.
  15. You could buy DCS World instead and add a module like the A-10, Su-25, P51 or Black Shark helo instead.
  16. I don't think, that ED will put much effort in fixing bugs in FC3. IMHO they are focussing on DCS modules and spent litlle time on FC3, which is a left-over from previous times. ED wants to make money with the DCS system, that is why the put 95% effort into it.
  17. Please give some more details: OS? Keyboard (wireless)? What do you want to fly? FC3? You don't need DCS World, just Lock on with FC3 to it. If all fails, de-install and try to install Lock-On and FC3 after it. Should be enough.
  18. christof, have you read this: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ "A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs The A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs is a separated part of Flaming Cliffs 3 as a module of DCS World." "Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs The Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs is a separated part of Flaming Cliffs 3 as a module of DCS World." Means both aircraft are part of FC3 and as such included. Does this make it clear for you?
  19. Online is for entertainment. So you and the other two were to entertain the other 20, I guess....
