  1. With a DCS MiG-29S, I probably would be back in the cockpit.
  2. This is an excellent place to start: http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/index.html

  4. Could be due to a slow internet connection. If the ping time is too long, he will be kicked from the server. The server always tries to synchronize with the slowest participant connected, and somebody with a slow connection will slow down the server for everybody else connected. All the other players with a faster connection will start complaining about lagging effects. So the only solution is to kick slow participants from the server. This is common practice. Could also be a failed integrity check. If your friend has modified some settings or files of the game, the server will check the settings and kick him off the server. This is to prevent players with manipulated settings to enter the server and cheat. Your friend should try to join with a clean, non-manipulated FC3 installation.
  5. Three minutes on google: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php?topic=324748.0 Does this help you ?
  6. The SPO tells you the direction and distance. Look out of the cockpit and zoom in as much as you can. Good luck!
  7. Hi UVP/Mechan, So sometimes you see own and enemy aircraft on the MFD and sometimes they disappear for some seconds? If all tracks disappear sometimes, then - you are out of range of the AWACS or - the AWACS flies not high enough, loosing radar coverage or - you are flying too low and mountains block the data link (you need line-of-sight to the AWACS) If some tracks disappear and come back - those aircraft are at the edge of detection, e.g. flying to low / behind montains or far away from the AWACS I have seen the AWACS data disappear and re-appear in FC2 as well for no obvious reason.
  8. Also from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metrication_in_the_United_States): ... the United States does not commonly mandate the use of SI, making it, according to the CIA Factbook, one of three countries that has not adopted the International System of Units (SI) metric system as their official system of weights and measures, along with Burma (Myanmar) and Liberia. .. an endless story...
  9. Does it look like this? http://www.funny-potato.com/images/planes/cockpits/f15-cockpit.jpg
  10. US ebay: Many offers for a brand new CD version as low as 2.90 $ + shipping. Why pay more for it digitally? And they also sell to Canada....
  11. Sorry to hear that you are leaving (?).
  12. Dear Wags: Summary After 6 months, the picture is clear: Top 3 answers to the question "What do you think about P-51D and Flying Legends?" are: 1. 43,95% answered "I just want ED to make modern aircrafts/helicopters..!" 2. 31,57% answered "I'm so happy thanks ED" 3. 27,21% answered "I want carrier ops!" I voted against the P-51, which was credited by a negative rep by Wags.
  13. Every HAWK launcher carries 3 missiles. With 4 launchers, that gives you 12 missiles, not 10. The site will engage even after 10 missiles were launched.
  14. Pls check if there are any commands in conflict between TIR5 and FC.
  15. Haven't flown this mssion myself, but I think you should not try this all alone. How about some AI playmates to give you some support? You could guide them through the command menu.
  16. To me, this sounds like a connectivity problem / timeout case. Have you manipulated the lua scripts here? YOURDRIVE\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\LuaSocket Have you checked your firewall settings? Are you running an extra firewall software? Do you use a router that requires port forwarding? Did you use any TCP tweaking software? Some suggestions to look into....
  17. About three years ago, Urze put his last video online: http://www.veoh.com/watch/v6497552bqS49mte?h1=Flightstick+Extension+assembly Does anybody know about what happened to him? He was not online at this forum for a long time and surprisingly stopped all activities from one day to the other. Is he still alive? His website leftside-limited.com is offline, too.
  18. While the community composition changes over the years by old formations fading out and new squadrons to be founded, it's about time to give a heads-up call. Since about 2 years, the Commanders Round Table is online. It is available to Wing Commanders / Squadron Captains for discussing upcoming events, exchange experiences and information and to improve cohesion between Lock-On wings / squadrons. Members can be Wing Commanders and Squadron Captains of Lock-On units and their representatives. So Wing Commanders / Squadron Captains, please feel free to register and participate. http://www.crc-mindreader.de/CRT/index.php
  19. A barrel roll manouver and a sharp over-G pull up just before impact of the MSL might do the job. It's a matter of training and intuition.
  20. That's the (simulated) difference between TWS and STT. You won't get a missile warning, if the F-15C is launching a MSL in TWS. Dunno, if this is realistic or not, but in-game, it shows this way.
  21. To me, this looks like a corrupt CD. I recommend to go back to the dealer and ask for another copy. The STARFORCE protection of FC1.1 requires the CD to be in the drive for the first run. After that, it will ask about once a week for the disk. An alternative is the DL version of FC, which comes with some activation keys (through your online account after registration). I'm using that for some years now and it works flawlessly.
  22. There is nothing wrong with the P-51 as a stand alone DCS module. But IMHO there is no need to have it compatible with the other modules DCS:BS and DCS:A-10 due to scenario considerations. If it's more difficult to remove the compatibility, leave it as it is, but I repeat myself here by saying that it doesn't make sense to operate an aircraft of the 1940/1950s with an aircraft of the 1970s in the same environment/simulation. Flanker in that sense was realistic, even Lock-On was almost realistic. But a WWII bird on one side an a jet aircraft of a totally different generation to be flown in one simulation as opponents is ridiculous. Then you could try to mix an F-104 with a F-22 as well.... Realistic? Naaaaah....
