  1. AH-64 is complex and has twin engine jet....turbines. ;)
  2. I've gotten the blackout launching from the supercarrier, from cats 1 or 2. Cats 3 or 4 didn't give it to me.
  3. That's not how I see it.
  4. If I ignore it though, the launch bar will still be lowered once I cycle my gear again. I thought the switch was supposed to snap up once weight was off the wheels after the launch. Are we supposed to manually raise the launch bar switch as part of the post-launch procedures?
  5. Tune to the ship's TACAN frequency, and then simply use the distance readout on your Bearing Distance Heading Indicator. Your HSD will also show it if you're in the TACAN Steer CMD mode.
  6. I don't understand why certain basic actions still don't have keybinds or axis assignments, such as adjusting the HSD course knob or the heading knob or the various volume knobs of the different radios, ICS, RWR, etc. The ability to map all working knobs and switches to my hotas or my keyboard is something I would have thought would be possible by now. Adjusting the ship's BRC using the HSD course knob is cumbersome with the mouse while trying to fly the pattern at the same time, versus just twisting a rotary on my throttle (if it was allowable as an axis) or pushing a key on the keyboard with my left hand. For how complete it is, the F-14 is lacking in this area, while the F-18 has way more ways you can map actions and especially axis assignments. When does Heatblur plan on filling in these gaps?
  7. If I start a mission from parking on the super carrier, hooking up to the cat requires lowering the launch bar, and once hooked, I get the hand signal to raise it again. Looking outside at the jet, the launch bar isn't in front of the shuttle, and yet I'm getting the hand signal to run up my engines. If I start a mission already attached to the catapult (screenshot attached), the launch bar is lowered, and the deck crew is giving me the signal to run up engines. Isn't the launch bar the thing that the catapult shuttle presses against to drag the plane down the launch area? How else would my plane get launched if I raise the launch bar again?
  8. Well firstly, I already said I couldn't find any pictures of it, so no, I have no idea what it's supposed to look like in real life..which I why I searched for real pictures. I also never used the word "wrong"...you did. I said it looks horrible. The other guy said it really looks like that, and I simply asked for him/her to provide a source. I'm also pretty sure the real jet doesn't have weird blue pixels within the canopy and engine fire bottle pull handles.
  9. The F-14 isn't an anti-ship platform. Your best bet would be to launch a TALD and drop some Mk-84s on it. But that's risky.
  10. I can't find any pictures of a real F-14A or F-14B cockpit at night. What's your source for your info?
  11. Why don't you post what you learned so others can take advantage?
  12. On my screen, it looks horrible. The reds are way too saturated. The lettering is fuzzy, and I'm seeing weird blue pixels on some of the geometry. The VDI is completely unreadable. I just came back from a break and it looked nothing like this last year. What's the deal?
  13. 2.5 isn't really "stable". It's a version of DCS we had with the exact same bugs we had minus any fixes we've gotten since updating the open beta branch. Plus, people that want to fly on popular MP servers won't be able to. Your "fix" isn't a fix.
  14. Some companies will give a week grace period. And there's something called good will that can go a long way with a potential customer or even an existing one.
  15. I had no idea all these modules would go on sale. The newsletter came out right after I purchased the module. Does ED have any sort of grace period for purchases like this so close to a sale date?
  16. Also getting it on single player.
  17. How is it 3 patches have released that actually don't solve the problem? Are these patches even getting tested before getting pushed to us?
  18. It's the selector press. Toggles between the AIM-7 and the AIM-54.
  19. Lately on multiplayer, he's been ejecting while I'm trying to startup the Tomcat on the Stennis' deck because the plane is sliding all over. Meanwhile I'm trying to rearm and refuel and the ground crew is telling me "Hey, what are you doing?!" every 5 seconds. But what does that matter.....Jester is 100 yards back doing the butterfly stroke.
  20. https://imgur.com/WeFqeQ6 I can see the foot pedals and floor geometery through the glass, and if I move the pedals I can see them moving through the glass as well. Seems the glass is actually partially transparent. Was this to simulate a glossy surface without having to add an extra static texture on it?
  21. The most important part.
  22. Cool, thanks for the info! Also, thanks for responding so quickly lately to questions. You guys are awesome when it comes to customer service.
