F-104S carrier trials (and, NO, the US Navy never did any trials with the F-104...)
-
Wow! Can't wait.
-
Practicing guns-only engagement against the MiG-21. (Btw, same approach works against the MiG-19 and the F-5E - not in this video, though)

First combat sortie in the F-104.

A lot of people on the GS WW2 server yesterday.

Don't know, but every time I took off from a Normandy dirt strip, my left engine started smoking. I've tried a few times with the filter open and never had an issue. Could be just random... Only ED can confirm.

Trying out an aerobatic routine in the Mossie.

If you are taxing on a dirt strip (e.g. on the Normandy map), you should also flip the filter switch next to radiator switches. Not necessary on paved runways, but helped me on dirt runways (never overheated again while taxing).

The Channel is newer and more detailed, Normandy covers a larger area. Both are nice., but to run the Channel you need a pretty good machine. I find that playing multiplayer on the Channel is a slightly better experience since the action is concentrated mostly over the Channel, so it's easy to find where everyone is. On the Storm of War server, I often end up flying up and down looking for action and never find anyone. The Storm of War is played on the Normandy map. The Growling Sidewinder WW2 server runs the Channel map. Lately, I find myself flying more frequently on the GS server, but that's just a personal preference.

Here's a short video of my first sortie on the GS WW2 server.

Came across this video on Youtube this morning. I don't know if it's been posted here before, but if someone (like me) missed it, it's worth watching. Enjoy!

A short session on the Clash of Wings server yesterday. Fun for everyone...

Just logged in again - same problem. I think it's all the smoke. Oh well...

Same here. Just logged in and it was literally a slide show. It's unplayable in VR on my top-end machine (I7-11000, Nvidia3800, 32GB, Rift-S). It's not my network either because, immediately after, I connected to another server and it ran smooth as silk. I'll try one more time later - hopefully it'll be a better experience.

I'm on the latest OB and it did work for me but I flew the -57 in an old mission. I did not try to make a new mission in ME. I'll try that today. One weirdness I observed is that after playing the Su-57 mission, the MP servers tagged me as "not a pure client". After restarting DCS, everything was fine, though. It really will be too bad if the -57 stopped working - it's such a fantastic mod!

In my case, it was the window. I actually knew the window needs to be opened to talk to ground, but for whatever reason I didn't realize that "open" mean pulling it back. It worked afterwards, although the "Ground" menu item is still greyed out. Perhaps then can turn it white after the window is pulled back - it will be a visual cue that you can now talk to ground. Thanks everyone, much appreciated!!! Doc

I have the same problem. I can talk to the ATC, but I can't talk to ground to request engine priming. The "Ground" option is grayed out and no one responds. First encountered this problem on the Clash of Wings server, but then I created a mission in ME and made sure that the airport is blue (like the Mossie). I have easy comms enabled for the stand alone missions, and even then I made sure the proper airport freqs are entered. Eventually, out of frustration, I hit autostart and all of a sudden the ground service comms are working...

Just a quick update: Flew against a human-piloted Bf-109K4 today (big "Thank you!" to SlickDevil!!). As expected, the 109 dominated the fight in every way possible (my woeful flying notwithstanding). He had at least 4-5 opportunities to take me out (though, to his credit, he resisted). A short video of the engagement is below.
