Im upto date on windows updates….. just frustrating. im a few bios u[dates out but these seem to be support for 5th gen ryzen…. I’ll maybe give them a bash

Well im still getting the issues. When i alt-tab to a pdf and alt-tab back the hotas or a button box stops working. I need to alt-tab back to the desktop and click the DCS tray icon to get them all working…. My setup is a B450 Aorus MB so maybe this has the same issues.

^ as Nighteyes says. This is my trick too. Set the brake very low, modulate rpm up and down from idle to1800 max and use the rudder twist/axis If I can taxi with a T.Flight one hotas and no rudder pedals (albeit slowly) then anyone can.

that was me the other night on multiplayer server lol. Ditched in the sea 2miles of the isle of white as a P-51 Buzzed me lol. Bugger … Dont think that worked for me, i couldnt keep altitude at 1800rpm and low boost….. need to try again….

Ok. I hear what u said about saturation on the rudder. But i have it at 45 and i can taxi ok….. little bit of brake and she moves about slowwwwww on the ground but at least im not going around in circles lol. got her flying great. Thanks everyone for your help. …… just wish i could take off as majestically as the spit is supposed to be ……….. spit flew past me on storms of war. Wing waging and i was going up and down like a demented kangaroo…….. funny/embarrassing lol edit: just watched Skill from GR on youtube taxi a Spit with an Authentikit spade……. I concede @Reflected, I need more rudder authority.

thanks i think its my hotas to be honest I’ll have a play with the saturation on the pitch. I think my biggest issue is rudder input. Using the throttle paddles isnt great and need to have the saturation 50% or lower so im not yawing all over the place.even then it’s crazy. I fly an RC spit and the rudder input on that is very little but my rates (bit like saturation) are really low for scale. Your hotas is still bettr than mine. Lol i have a heavy modified t.flight one . I’ll have another go before i start 3d printing an athentikit flight yoke Website link

Reading this thread with interest, also tried @philstyle curves, but i just cant dial in the sweetspot between docile and full movement for combat. i really love the spit and the ww2 scene but because is so difficult to handle (especially without rudder pedals) i just dont fly it…. @thrustvector would you care to share your final curves and are you using an extension piece for a central stick or just a side stick? im just runnin a cheap thrustmaster hotas so it could be a resolution thing on el cheapo stick

Guys, i've have a look through 100's of posts and cant find anthing specific to my problem hopefully someone has some answers. I have a Thrustmaster t.flight and 2 Leobodnar BBI-64 button boxes so not a HUGE amount of usb devices but the issue I have is that while in game some of these devices lock up (really random) or disconnect from DCS. When I alt-tab out to check the devices they are all still working, but I need to alt-tab out then back to DCS to get them working normal. anyone have any thoughts what could be causing this. ?? the devices are pluged directly into the PC not a usb HUB. Flightstick is in a USB3 port at back of PC and button boxes are via the mothers boards USB2 header to front USB's. other USB devices plugged in include keyboard & PS3Cam for Opentrack. Earphones and mouse are Bluetooth. ??

Thanks…. Going to have a play with Vis Range and SSLR. Not all that fussed with heat blur but like too see some grass when i taxi to runway. Preload radius is an unknown, im running SSD’s so may whack that up to max

Excellent post Rosy…. I’ll try some tweaks tonight no way my rx570 8gb will run smoothly on your setting… going to try but im thinking AMD and DCS are not bedfellows.

right.... think i found the sweet spot thanks to the following youtube vid... Fantastic stuff from Commander Steinsch now averaging 50-60 fps @1080p with no graphical issues both large scale missions and multiplayer......happy camper again... settings are as follows: whats ur settings Kings..? think the 1060 is a little better than the rx570 but not by much

AMD RX570 8GB _ Ryzen 5 1600AF _ 16GB DDR4 _ NVME SSD + SSD storage @1080p Hi. Ive posted a few time on these forums to say that my performance with 2.7 and the new clouds was really good , however after trying to fly various missions its obvious that the clouds on budget spec GPU is a huge issue. My previous performance on the above system with a mixture of high/Medium LoD textures, low water, Vis range High, heat blur off, low cockpit shadows, cockpit res 512, 2xMSAA, flair+dirt + rain i was getting a solid 45-65 fps in campaigns/missions and multiplayer. Yes at lower settings with trackIR and at 45fps looking out the window wasnt as smooth as I would have liked but its an older card and i was content. Bring on the clouds..... Firstly 2.7 is AMAZING. Free flight around the various maps it looks amazing with not a huge drop in frames 45-55fps (well it didnt seem so bad at first) however once i started doing campains/missions and mutlplayer things have become frustrating. Ive spend many a night over the past week trying all sorts of setting combinations to try and keep the game looking as good as possible but the impact of the clouds has meant that i need to nerf every other setting to low or off, switch off MSAA, cockpit shadows and change cockpit res to 256 to get a decent smooth fps. Needless to say my graphics settings look bloody awfull just to get the clouds. This has reduce the immersion that i had previously and to be perfectly honest im not enjoying this new ver. Visuals for me seems like step back to 1.5 with clouds. (Edit i know they arn’t and its my GPU thats the issue but visualy thats the comparison) ED if your reading this i REALLY appreciate where DCS is going and i WILL be buying a new GPU if they ever come back in stock but some additional optimisation for lower spec pc’s would be greatly appreciated so i can enjoy the wonderful clouds

I noticed it but im trying to run on an RX570 lol. if it had a LoD slider like tree's scenery objects it would be perfect.....and permenantly set at 0.1 PS Phil... love your vids

F-16 has always been a stressfull task.... strangly first time i tried on 2.7 it only disconnected once and lasted the full session. in 2.5.6 i only ever managed a few seconds plugged in at a time. ?? might just be me but still really stressful especialy on the way back from a long mission.....

i run a RX570 8Gb (because im forced to with GPU shortage) and my performance is down slightly. F-16 Free flight on Caucasus with fairly medium/low settings as you can imagine on 2.5.6 i was getting 55-70fps avg. with a similiar medium/low LoD MSAAx2 clouds Standard etc im getting a lower 45-65fps avg. on the up side the fps lows are massivley better and even with TrackIR its imersive and smooth. doing a low level canyon run on 2.5.6 my fps lows could drop to 25fps easy. 2.7 its stuck on 45fps solid.

lol this thread is funny personaly ive got all i need..... well until the mosquito and apache release ..... then its "ED have some more £££££" Same.... F-16 and Spitfire is all I can start up....my F-18/A-10/Harrier/P-51 etc etc is all "some day i'll get around to it"

ok after initial install I was getting 20 fps on my rx570...... initial thoughs oh shit. after playing about with the settings im getting 45-70 fps hahahaha. with Ultra Clouds and a solid 40-50fps on [4YA] PVE full war training multiplayer server Im realistic with my settings but I recon im getting better fps than 2.5.6 with better visuals. Happy Camper AMD Ryzen 5 1600af / rx570 8Gb GRAM / 16Gb 2800Mhz DDR4 / 500Gb SSD / 1080p & Delan head tracker

Im so scared to upgrade now.....only have rx570 and i dont have 30fps to lose..... on fairly low settings i get a solid 40-60 fps @1080p which is still playable to me..... i take it we can roll back to 2.5.6 if i find issues ?

Pmsl. Performance hit on a gtx 2080. ......... im hoping my RX570 8gb is still playable.
