AlaskanGrizzly's last past was a month ago, is he not supporting this anymore? Anyone know?
-
Exactly.. Western doctrine and policy is considerably different than both Chinese and Russian regarding new platforms and IOC/FOC status. It is likely that Russia brought them over to do some system tests and give it that "Combat Proven" check mark in light of the PLAAF getting it's J-20A's. Syria is a low threat air environment and the perfect place to conduct some testing and possible weapons trials in the short few days they were deployed.

I would do a repair of your DCS install and then unzip KBB again and run it. If there was anything changed during the repair you will have a folder called _backups or _downloads...something to that effect in the root DCS folder, it'll be the first new folder in the DCS directory anyway..

Or perhaps it's for Russia to be able to market the aircraft as "combat certified" for export? Perhaps it was for of the Defense of the Fatherland celebrations? Perhaps it's in reaction the the PLAAF getting it's J-20A? Just because it flew to Syria for a few days doesn't mean it's now IOC, and just because it's not IOC, doesn't mean it can't forward deploy.

Just read through the last 60ish pages after a fast search. This may be already implemented, but does KBB offer the ability to add pilot body kneeboards as seen on the Mirage 2000 pilot to other pilot bodies that don't have them? Does it offer the ability to modify those pilot body kneeboards already ingame? I like to have freq's / TACANS etc available just by looking down in VR instead of opening the kneeboard and flipping pages. Apologize if it's already been answered, but I didn't see it, only the original unanswered questions pertaining to it.

Looking directly at the gauges etc in VR without direct sunlight there is no reduction in visibility. When you notice the gauge glass / AoA indicator going opaque and the finger prints etc on the radar screen is, for me, when sunlight is traveling across the cockpit while turning. It, IMHO, makes them a lot more real then full visibility all the time despite direct sunlight etc. That said, they are never to the point where you can't read the gauges (so far). Try it out, you can always remove it.

Thanks for the improvement. Finally started the updated campaign last night and although not as visible in VR due to resolution, it does add to the "realness" of the cockpit. I made it into a new JGSME mod and it worked perfectly.

I updated to 390.xx the other day using DDU. First instance of DCS refused to show anything but black in the headset, but looking on the monitor is was tracking as it should. Redid the install using DDU and it has worked fine since. No decrease in FPS noted. Specs below :)

Despite some pretty minor issues, this is one of the best manuals I've seen for any of the modules to date.

The link works but the last three characters have to be deleted.. Here's BD's amended link.. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z97fz5dZEMItA8UZK2XnnyRz0dz0vt6v/view

Has it been verified that the updated campaign was included with hotfix 3? Thanks :)

What?! Crap.. Just got to work.. Anyone provide a link to it so I don't have to work today and just read? :)

Had the same during the radar training mission in 2.5. The L-39s were nowhere to be seen. Used f10 and vectored myself to the side and behind and nothing. Ended up getting hundreds of meters behind and still not radar contact..

Never thought about using A-G mode.. gonna have to try that out :)

TBH I don't really notice the size of the trees until I see a car driving down the road that has trees beside it. Either the car looks tiny, or the trees are huge. I wouldn't mind seeing what small trees look like, or have the ability to scale the tree size without reducing total area covered (smaller size = more trees placed to replace lost coverage) as a option. But in the end, it doesn't really matter as the last thing I'm doing at 500kts and 15000ft in my M2000 is wondering if a tree is too big.. I live on Vancouver Island, Canada, where some of our Red Cedars are about 250 feet...

Looks awesome in 2D.. Too bad in VR it'll likely look the same lol.. Come on PIMAX!!

Just checking in to see if there is an update. Cheers

Thanks! Tried 90% reduction but had an artifact out my left side so went to 80% and no issues (in VR). ***EDIT Going to test again after work now that I've seen the pics below. Not sure if the trees actually were reduced in size now...

Is it just me or the link from page one not containing the correct updates? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BziW_B-KjICcZjR3bVEzMmI4STQ The ones referenced as changed with the dates (xx/xx/201 8, when I DL them, they are all from 2017.. Can someone help me out please lol

I ended up setting my IPD in game to the same number from when I calibrated the Rift. The only one that looks out of place is the A10 which just simply looks very wide, but all other air frames look great. I don't fly the Hog much, so not a biggie to adjust as required.

HA!!! Never saw the version # tag there before. And yes, it works quite well in 2.5 :)
