  1. lol.. absolutely not ED's responsibility... If you can afford "everything DCS".. then spend $100 for a new SSD.. I use a dedicated 1TB for my install (870 Evo on sale for like $110)
  2. I'm running a Quest 2 (set on PD 1.4 or 1.5 I believe via Oculus Home), 2070 Super, Intel 10700F and 32 Gb RAM. On the Syria map with VR Ultra, Global illumination on, default ground shadows, clouds on high, zero traffic, MSAA off (or 2x..Can't remember) and water on low, I get a consistent 36-40 FPS (per eye), zero stuttering. Extremely flyable, and everything very crisp and readable in my Hornet. I'm not sure what people with better systems than me are doing to get these massive drops.. Have you repaired your install before updating? Deleted both FXO and MetaShader 2.0 folder? Have you tried running the VRShaders Mod? If running the mod did you delete the previous folders and let DCS rebuild them after? Seems a little weird..
  3. Thanks! Never really noticed the issue in VR, but now that you brought it to my attention, DL'd and installed!
  4. Same. I've running a 2.5 gb/s cable now, but just picked up a 5 gb/s cable. Going to swap them and see if it makes any difference at all myself.
  5. Does anything suffer like graphics or increased stuttering etc running wireless?
  6. Arctic region for sure. I prefer to fly winter missions most times regardless, and the Arctic would be amazing for this for all the reasons above.
  7. Bahrain for sure. From the International airport in Manama, to all the other military use only airports on the island, it is sorely lacking from the PG map, and a rather big oversight I think. Flew on a C2 Greyhound from there to CVN-77 in the NAG back in 2014. And Bahrain is home to the the USN fifth Fleet and CENTCOM, as well as CMF, comprised of over 30 countries working from there.
  8. Good suggestion. Sold my Warthog when I got of DCS for a couple years back, but and now flying again and ecently picked up a T.1600 system. Not a fan of the stick at all. Was looking at the VKB Gunfighter and completely discounted the NXT. Think a sale has been made
  9. Just checking in, was this completed or still on hold? Looks amazing so far.
  10. Followed your directions exactly, and keep getting this error. I've been modifying a previously built mission. I've gone through several times and it's keeps happening.. Any ideas? EDIT**** Started a new mission from scratch and worked fine. This combined with Redkites Supercarrier templates completely changes SP/MP carrier Ops. Thanks
  11. I find the Hornet the easiest of all A/C to refuel by far. What I do: 1. I practice on Aerobatics Online (Beta). The KC-130 is set at 227 kts and 11,000 and respawns when empty. 2. Approve from behind about 100kts + (330-350kts) until 2nm out (TACAN based) and coast into preposition. I also raise my probe at 2nm out. 3. No need to trim as it is autotrim. 4. Match speed of 227kts about 100 feet behind and request rejoin. 5. Increase (walk the throttles) to about 228kts and plug in using the basket carrier as a reference, but your jet is level with chute. 6. Here you can use ATC to hold 227kts or use very small adjustments to stay at 227kts or move between 226-228kts. Don't use lateral stick movements, only rudder if needed, and very small (like very small) pitch if needed. 7. Don't forget to breathe lol.. When I first started way back when I would hold my breath..just makes you jerky. I like to use AO online because the refuelers are constant (flight path, altitude, speed etc). I take off from Anapa, do a trap or two on the carrier, then refuel in air, then trap. It's a routine that works for practice, and if you get a couple others there refueling with you, you get to properly practice formation fueling etc.

    Smoke System?

I was "keeping up" with one in my hornet today and his smoke was sputtering at times, like changes in pitch affected it. Is this a new smoke system or was he turning it off and on? Looked really good, like it was starving for oil or something at certain times.
  13. Never really had a problem in the Hornet as I'm not on the deck long enough to park, but the Harrier slides right off the side when parked in my experience.
  14. Cheers. About to load up and try out the different numbers approach :)
  15. Just wondering, I set Tacan and ICLS both to channel 10 for the Stennis, both turned on and entered, both selected on the HSI but the lines never showed during landing.. Do you use both or just one? Do they have to be different numbers?
  16. Seen the same. Obviously related to heat blur, but your example is much more pronounced than what I've seen taxiing behind another yet. I'm set to low for heat blur.
  17. Flaps setting I would say. You leave them up (auto) for your BIT test. After that, move them to half and you can adjust your take-off trim (weight dependent - 16', 17', etc..) and they move fast. Take off, then back to auto :)
  18. Seeing as the carrier is set to invincible and the mission is updated to the new build #, I don't see how that would be a problem.. But that said, I'll try a few other MP servers and see if it happens or not.
  19. Did the update yesterday and did a new fast single player mission in the Persian Gulf. Added the JCS, TACAN 10x over 300nm away. Took off, found 10X about 300nm out and repeatedly swapped between a few different TACANs back on land to ensure they would all work, they did, no issue. Crashed on landing lol ***EDIT*** As per post 3, I was no higher than 5000 feet ASL the entire trip Jumped in MP on the Aerobatics Online Beta Caucasus map and manually started up, threw up the JCS on 10X on the HSI (about 24nm away), picked it up no problem on the ground. Took off and as soon as I was wheels up, the TACAN signal disappeared and the HSI went into it's revolving search mode for lack of a better term. Tried multiple TACAN stations and no signal received for any. Put back on the JCS (10X) and flew direct visual, still zero signal even overhead. Anyone else? I thought this bug was resolved?
  20. Like everyone else said, let it pull you back the 5 or so feet. Raise hook and go. Just don't lock the brakes like I do sometimes on landing and the cable forces your nose up and it looks like it'll give you a stationary tail strike lol
