  1. I'm sure I saw them! And I wasn't taking any drugs at the time. I think I saw them. I'm gonna have to check it again.
  2. Tears of joy, tears of happines, the landing bug has finally been fixed. And there are also canopy scratches. Aries is smiling from the banned folks heaven. :D
  3. Range is fine, I was refering to tracking of the missile against manouvering targets which is far from stellar. Not sure if this is the case IRL but as someone else pointed out, if it was, why would RUAF use such an unreliable missile?
  4. ^^No I don't but it (Su-27SM) was mentioned by Wags in one of his videos. It was definetelly mentioned and possibly in the works (by a third party) but whatever happened since, I know as much as you do. Perhaps it was cancelled/delayed or simply put on hold.
  5. ^^ED works on Su-27S not on SM..SM was supposed be a third party module. Fully modlled Su-27S may not "rule the sky" but would certainly match other western birds..assuming R27R/ER performance gets improved.
  6. I don't think it will be (if at all) at a DCS level, rather a third party addon that might (?) use DCS brand in the title.
  7. Speaking on SU27SM third party addon, any updates on that? There's a short youtube video of it but it didn't look impressive at all. To say the least.
  8. Finally. A no-drama, straight answer. Thank you.
  9. I was just waiting for the "He's a real life pilot" argument. As that is supposed to, somehow, relate to the very issue at hand ie. the problem of the landing bug? With all due respect to his calling (and I really, really mean it!), in this very specific case, it doesn't really hold that much relevance. He used the proper landing procedure (and I mentioned in my previous post he proved me wrong in regards to being able to actually land the 15 under such bugged conditions, so that's not an issue) but again, so do most of us have been doing all this time BUT what he did was finding a sweet spot technique and he is sticking to it, figuring out how to negate the bug. It's quite possible other, non-RL pilot folks ie. FC3 armchair pilots who've never flown a radio controlled mini-Cessna let alone a fighter jet, figured it out after setting their minds to it, so..what's your point? As for you telling me I'm out of line, well, it's not my "duty" as a customer to dwelve into the reasons for this bug to be present for so long and find excuses for you and your coleagues why is it so. All I know, and which is the fact, it still is. And I don't think anyone is happy about it. You think I'm enjoying writing these posts? You said you complained about it, well, in my opinion, I think you should have, with all due respect, complained more, you should have told the programmers "Listen, if you don't fix this bug people will complain as it almost a show stopper." - which is what exactly happened and you are part of the community, you are one of us so you know, in terms of gameplay, what should be given priority and what shouldn't. You are somehow part of the "establishment" so be prepared for the criticism and don't take it personally. It comes with the position of a beta tester. I don't think I'm saying anything outrageous here really.
  10. You've found a "sweet spot" procedure and you're sticking with it and it makes your landing bug-free. What it really proves is that afterall, F15 in 1.2.4 can be landed without sinking into runway. Ok. you have proven me wrong and I stand corrected! Fact remains, the bug hardly allows any deviations in the landing procedure and when I say deviations, I don't mean bad AOA or too high vertical speed..the bugged script makes it a lottery and it's ruining it for lots of people. If you're trying to argue that, then I guess I'm just wasting my time typing down the rest of this post. Now, this is the video of my older F15C landing in FC3 and this is how I pretty much always landed the bird, depending on the fuel/stores at app. 150kts or so, never had any issues. Trying the same procedure these days makes me always dive into the concrete which is not realistic (even with FC3's standard flight model limitations) and is clearly a bug: So, once again, please don't try to in any way downplay the negative impact this bug had on people who fly the F15C or inadvertedly blame us for not being able to handle it. Most of us fly Lockon/FC/DCS for years and I believe by this time, most of us know how to do a proper landing. And I really don't want to play the numbers and variables with the porked script more then I usually have to (which what it is at the moment) just to be able to land hoping it'll have a good day and won't turn me into a freaking submarine. Fact is guys, you are the beta testers and your primary function is to find these out and squash them before the version/product gets to be available to the community. No matter how you spin it or try to explain it (which I'm sure you will do in the very next reply), you failed miserably in doing so because this bug has been with us for several versions now which is really frustrating - which means you either didn't test it enough and let it slip thru (on several occasions) or ED programmers simply didn't bother fixing it (which is something I seriously doubt is the case as they are dependant on your feedback as it's not in their job description to find bugs). I am saying this as a customer, frustrated one albeit (and I believe I'm not the only one) and I really hope this gets fixed and burried once and for all. To be honest, if I were in your shoes I don't think I would have the nerve to even argue with people in regards to the bug which slipped under my radar or try to downplay its importance in any way. And BTW, Rooster, please don't "sir" me. I prefer "comrade". Thanks.
  11. What really amazes me is how we've been stuck with this bug for several versions as if it was a minor thing barely affecting the gameplay. I really hope ED programmers and beta testers nail this one for good for the 1.2.5 release so we can leave this whole issue behind.
  12. Yes, that's fine and everything but I used to land as well by the book and since landing gear bug, I would always sink into the runway so, excuse me if I won't believe you can land the F15 with the current (bugged) version we have just by following standard procedure. I never used to either come in too fast or too hard, my touchdowns were gentle, used aerobraking etc..and these days, the landing bug is simply turning me away from any F15C flying. Once we, the community, get the bug-free version, we can fly/land it as intended but untill then, please don't try to tell us how everything is "business as usual" in regards to landing with the bugged version. It's not a rocket science really. Yes, it can be landed if certain parameters are met but that's not really -it-, it's more like, adjusting to the bug rather then doing it as it should be done.
  13. That's interesting. I always had a feeling my bird slows down more when aerobraking.
  14. Speaking of mods, is there a mod which would enable me to land my 15 on the runway without sinking my gear into it? :D
  15. There you said it!:lol::lol::lol:
  16. Ooooh will you give the guy his canopy scratches! :D
  17. ^^Do you have ECM pods installed? The ones on the wingtip (Sorbitskaya)..
  18. ^^FC3 bugs aside, ED did in fact listen and listens to the community. Remember in FC3 only the F15C was supposed to have 6DOF pits and after folks complained about it, claiming the price tag is too high for the features available, they released more 6DOF pits and added new features (TWS 2 for MiG29s). ER in FC3 is porked, I agree with that but I don't think ED did this on purpose, it's rather lack of resources to get this done and IMO, lack of better QA / more thorough testing which resulted in some of the bugs, that were supposed to be fixed long time ago (like F15C landing bug) still being present. I'm sure they'll, eventually, enhance the 27ER to give the Flanker pilots fighting chance. You can't really compare these things in RL. In RL even a "porked" 27ER with a first shot advantage (due to an increased range) would deter an opponent from any further advancing and unlike AI or online players, the pilot wouldn't continue to rush towards the missile presuming it will simply fail and wait for his own missile to get in the launch range.. ;)
  19. ^^There is no doubt in my mind they, eventually, will. They do listen to the community. I just wish pre-release testing had a better QA so we don't have to wait thru several patches to get some of the outstanding bugs fixed.
  20. Welcome to the world of DCS where logic quite often fails when it comes to sudden FPS drops and slowdowns..
  21. Won't do the update. Obviously too many folks having problems with it. <A-HOLE Mod ON> I'm just gonna sit back and laugh at people who did download it and are now having issues with it. </A-HOLE Mod OFF> Naah, just kidding. :D
  22. Makes a lot more sense but nevertheless, once again, ED showed they listen to the community and value our feedback so, hats off to that! :)
  23. My grandsons will be looking forward to Edge.
  24. ^^I'm sure it's going to be fixed. After few more updates. :D
