  1. I have to say I.may add to the list of ex-viacoms users. For several reasons which are mostly unavoidable and not due to any fault or lack of updating. I would still like to use voiceattack and perhaps have a simple control of the F keys and the bindings for "hornet ball" and "ready pre-contact" also prob petrovich which is how I use him now. What's the best way of removing the Viacom profile altogether so I can create my own (simple) one.
  2. Nothing new for me. There is a special option for aiming mark on the front glass. Maybe more of a description would help.
  3. You probably want to try the sound module expansion thread. I think this is already covered.
  4. I might have, however I myself spent a day or two crashing before I realised how the central trimmer works. Central and instant modes are both for spring sticks, however instant trim is FFB friendly as it can be used with a FFB stick. Central cannot. There is a third which is only for FFB sticks as it effectively disables the trim altogether and relies of the physical position of you hardware to do the trimming, you won't get odd trim related crashes with this mode, just no trim at all (on a spring stick).
  5. Trouble finding the center..... you don't have to hold it there. Even crossing the center works. I fail to see how a spring loaded stick would not find center
  6. Do you need open composite for the quest? DCS support oculus natively so unlike WMR users it no bridge is required.
  7. Those with quest 2 issues, its possibly due to ODT settings. In my experience of using the quest for around 18months the software has come on leaps and bounds. After a long time of adjusting things (which we had to in the early days) I now have best performance and visuals leaving bitrate, resolution width, SS and ASW settings all at default (0). I set distortion curve to low and sharpening to enabled and these are saved. I uninstalled OTT as well. The experience is really good, sharp and smooth. I do reduce my FOV to 0.9 in both vertical and horizontal just to increase performance a bit while keeping the same settings, although this is a "kicker" rather than a necessity. Obviously I don't know what your settings are but choppy experience sounds like it could be a bitrate issue, I believe oculus controls this dynamically now so a fixed one (high or low) could be bad.
  8. For me I think the only time it may be useful is after landing and still on the ground I can confirm control position without using overlay. I would effectively be un-trimming and then probably re-trimming into a similar state, but it would give me confidence again without the controls overlay. Maybe once I am more experienced I wouldn't use it. I could look at the control stick too, but reset is a 100% back to known alignment. As for using it in flight... Nope.
  9. The normal radio transmit button and there is a second for intercom. This module seem to also have secondary ones for VOIP, but I've not tried/bound those yet.
  10. I think I have had this using viacom with the command "Options" not working all the time. I had assumed it was a viacom problem as I have it to not show the menus. This solution makes sense. Is that how you have you have your VP set? I've had problems in the hind not showing the menu to choose cargo when under slinging (again via VP), must be because it is calling the comms menu and not the radio one.
  11. Thanks, maybe I'm being stupid.... What is a blocking wheel? Stuck? as in not turning?
  12. Is anyone able to give me a bit on an overview what the special options tab does. I can't seem to find this in the manual. I understand the g deadzone but unsure what the other three options are doing. Also I'm slightly unsure about what the wheel blocking effect is, and the difference between ground roll and ground bumps. Many thanks for any help.
  13. I already asked this in wishlist. Feel free to bump it.
  14. This means basically: a) central trimmer mode as it is now b)revert to instant trim after half a second, which is really quite quick, this would basically render central position obsolete. Any longer delays would be pointless because it would still revert to instant trim, after the user being locked out because they didn't return the stick to center. In reality both methods require returning the stick to centre, as with instant trim you get the jump which you have to counter. Central position gives you a bit of space to do that. As I have a short spring loaded stick I find the central mode pretty good and clean. I would think with a long extended stick the instant trim would be better. It is all about timing.
  15. Very small icon on the right hand side? Near the clock? Check the white arrow?
  16. You can start it from the windows proogramme then it will appear in system tray, then you right click on this and select start. I've no idea why it does this, its the only app I have that starts like this. Caught me out when I first installed it too. I'm sure it can be changed, I haven't bothered to look yet.

Personally I find that the Q2 is basically at a stage where no modifications are needed in ODT or OTT at all. I really wouldn't bother with OTT now. Set the distortion curve once, this is saved for future. Everything else at default. This wasn't always the case but the software has come on so much that it's fine as it is. Resolution and refresh rate can be adjusted in main software.
  18. Are you 100% sure it isn't just minimised in the system tray, bottom right of taskbar. This has been mentioned already. Newly installed apps can be further hidden in the menu that appears when you click on the small white arrow. This caught me out at first.
  19. Ah! This might be it. I have been setting them at ground level. Thanks
  20. Ok..I'll try again. Pretty sure that wasn't happening.... Maybe my lack of precision flying! Thanks.
  21. I have had some issues if I have a route set and I either don't fly close enough to the first waypoint or I direct to somewhere and then look to join the route later, is there anyway of being able to auto continue? I seem to end up having to do a direct to for every single point after that. Yes I know a CPG would do this for me if it wasn't George but even so there must be a way of doing this. Even just manually flipping through each waypoint on a route would be handy. I know a workaround would be to create a new route or possibly delete the earlier points in my current route but both of these seem a bit "head down". I guess I could flip to the CPG seat and set it all up while George holds the fort.
  22. It seems the seperate pull and stow keybinds do not work. Parking brake works otherwise, just not on those binds.
  23. I literally just downloaded it at the simshakers website. It's definitely there. New apache effects are awesome. That gun.....
  24. Is the soft zone for hover? Do you not fid that its too short to meet all weight and altitude variations? I have experimented with "standard" curve settings and they always seem to make it easier in one state and harder in another. Gone back to linear now.
  25. Yeah probably will do. Probably should have done that the first time. Do I just download and uninstall the old one? I'm also using the sound module payware.
