  2. I may have a similar problem space-wise. Did you end up modifying all the sound files, or did you just use two shakers in mono?
  3. Thanks both, @Flappie That seems to have worked. I realised just after I posted that windows update was not working either, yet the internet connection appeared to be fine. Ran sfc and chkdsk with no change, windows update troubleshooter was as useless as usual. Router reboot seem to have kicked it all back again. I would be interested to know what happened there..
  4. Can't get update to work, keep seeing the following message. I had assumed it was just busy but can't see anyone else reporting this. Anyone know whats going on? Child failed to connect: (1460) This operation returned because the timeout period expired.
  5. I think the bigger the better. Yes DCS will use whatever you can give it really. If you can afford the higher spec machine its worth it. However worth noting that the 40 series GPUs are set to release later this year and so while you can always wait for the next PC hardware building, building the same PC with a lower spec secondhand stop gap GPU might be worth while and have it ready for the new thing when it comes along. This is what I did just before the 30 series came out. I decided not to spend $1200+ on a 2080ti and got a secondhand 1080ti instead to fill the gap. Did not regret it.
  6. Good point. Unsure. I seem to remember someone saying that this TOO process was debated. Although it can be done IRL it was unlikely and unusual so no-one was really sure. But I would agree that the way it used to be made sense and seems to fit with the way everything works. Kind of similar to target points in the harrier.
  7. Yes it has changed I remember doing it this 'old' way. I recommend using markpoints to do this now. Bit of an extra step but fairly intuitive. Markpoints had not been modelled when that video was done.
  8. Anyone have any thoughts on DCS game setting - Monitors to stereo. I have been flying VR for a couple of years and never realized this was there. I guess this should be good for VR but not heard many other people mention it. I have noticed that in non-vr mode each flight now launches in dual screen as if in a VR mirror.

  12. Wags said the startup vid will be last before it drops. Those people using it on YT are closed beta testers. We've had manuals a few weeks before release before. Super carrier is the one that I remember.

  15. Yes I have them already and I know you can get a bit of sound out of them. My query was with the setup that BN has, radios through headset and sound through shakers doesn't seem like you would hear much. I would like to try game sound only through my shakers (rather than SSM) and have all 'normal' sound through headset still. Not just radios. Not sure of this is possible.
  16. Having just set up the sound module I'm interested to try this way too, but surely the shakers don't produce much actual sound?
  17. Is anyone willing to share screenshots of their settings for 2x transducers (rather than jetseat) Maybe just a representative jet/heli/warbird. I have recently rebuilt my sim pit to accommodate these and looking to see what others have found they like. I like some effects but others seem a bit odd and I'm not sure what they are to modify. Thanks.
  18. OTT is just a third party interface for ODT, I don't use it either as it seems a disconnected and likely flawed way of doing the same thing. Only advantage was that settings were saved and they mostly do not in ODT, doesn't bother me though.
  19. It's pretty far west, in Iraq. Quite far east for Syria... It's seems we are getting almost the whole of Syria. I think that might be enough.

I can't remember the exact binding names, I think it might be "Cockpit camera" or just "camera" but I assure you this just moves the position of your head around and this is saved for the duration of the flight. So when you recentre it flips to this position. I currently do this every time I load into the hind, as I am too far away by default. I have those controls bound to my arrow keys as I am not able to press multiple keyboard keys in VR. I don't bother with binding left or right as its usually only up//down or forward/back I need. No impact on FOV, no adverse impacts on HUDs. Basically like moving your seat in those aircraft where you can -this has exactly the same effect.
  22. There are options for camera view up/down, forward/back and left/right. Adjust until you are happy. I have to do this with a couple of modules so I have them bound to arrow keys on keyboard for ease each time I start.
  23. In banked turns it doesn't seem to hang downwards but continue to wobble in same way as level flight, which in a turn is up and down. I might be wrong.
  24. Hopefully ED will add kneeboard edit/create/generate features to the briefings we can do in the new room. Also needed in the rest of DCS though.
  25. The hook seems like a nice touch but was it defying the laws of physics in the turns....
