Also, I wouldn't bother dialing in the course on the HSI. You can do it by eye with practice. Say the needle pointing to the steerpoint is pointing at 240 and the course you need is 270, just fly left of the needle till it's pointing at the course you want. If you want to push the needle clock wise you fly left of it and if you want to push it anti-clockwise you fly to the right of it. If any of that didn't make sense I can try and explain in pictures if you like. It's extremely handy for lining up attack bearings, saves you messing around with the HSI. That's good to hear.

I believe the steerpoint page gives you course information, you can access this page easily on the UFC by pressing the FUNC key and then the 0 key. I nearly always fly with the CDU repeater on this page.

Another option would be to drop in the view I edited, thread is here along with instructions and a screenshot. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72609

It's the latest, I had to use it when patching didn't agree with my sim. Yep, already on Teamspeak. Give me a shout when your finished your game.

TMS Aft Long will put your SPI back at the steerpoint you have selected.
-
While I agree it looks a bit bland, the cockpit already eats up enough frames as it is and that's before we've got that patch that adds dynamic shadows to the pit. I don't see any reason it can't be in as an option like black shark though.

If I'm dropping in the fashion that sungsam described then I will always opt for 5 mil over 3/9 for dumb munitions.
-
I would then be amazed to watch my graphics card melt :music_whistling:. I prefer the look of 256 anyways.
-
Also, if you have a monitor that can handle dynamic contrast, be sure to turn it on in your monitor's settings menu. It not only makes any game look 100% better but it also helps with spotting, for me anyways. For example, turning on dynamic contrast in the middle of playing ArmA 2 transforms it into a whole new world, looks much more realistic.

That is correct, pressing China Hat Forward Long will slew all sensors to your SPI. Therefore, the TGP has to be designating the SPI.

Just for illustration purposes find the vehicles in this screenshot, this is with 6G and 2L. Two tanks and an SA-9. You could also try logical search patterns at different zoom levels to help you out. Screenshot is at just over 11 miles, wide fov and if I remember correctly I used no zoom. This is also at the lowest MFD resolution.

Putting your TGP Level's down to '2' and upping the Gain to around 6 helps. Switching mode's often helps thing's stand out. You may need to adjust the values if it's night time or low light in the morning, those values work best for me in the day time. Edit: Some people can get confused on whether they're editing the gain or levels, best way to tell is it will say something along the lines of 6G, the G being gain...

Can someone explain why EAC is tad dependent?
Sinky replied to bloomstomb's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I believe you might be forgetting to set the EGI into FPLAN mode after you align, once you have done that you proceed to select NAV. Edit: Seem's you fixed it, happy flying :) -
I have tried it...Fully functioning HOTAS Cougar here, I tend to use my Cyborg F.L.Y 5 more than it these days, so much in fact that I'm considering selling my Cougar. If I had a TM Warthog it would be a different story, Cougars are a ..... to setup.

I see, I don't think I will switch until it's confirmed that it fixes this problem. Last thing I want to do is chop and change drivers multiple times a day.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You may have used a cheap ( but good ) stick a long time ago, but have you actually tried one recently that is logically mapped? I do not disagree that it's a whole lot easier to not have to touch the keyboard, but if you map a cheap stick right even if it has one hat switch, it takes more time training but once you've got it your just as good as someone with a HOTAS. Spent many hours mapping my 'cheapo stick so it's just perfect and does almost everything including all the HAT's. Again, this is my own opinion that stems from a steady switch between a good HOTAS and a properly mapped budget flight stick. I don't think most people would understand where I'm coming from unless they do the same kind of switch. TrackIR is a must and the only people who say it isn't a must, from my experience are people who have never used it. Once you've used one you can't do without, not just for accessing controls around the pit but also for situational awareness.

Yeah like I said it's been many years, melting brain and so on. Am I right in saying they usually include the DH on approach plates?

Mustang, does 11.4c fix the HDR flickering?
-
I play with Cougar but I can't always take the time to set it up so I sometimes opt for using my cheap stick. I can operate the aircraft just as well with either of them, maybe it's the way I've mapped my cheap stick. When using the cheap stick all I use the keyboard for are the gear, flaps, selecting SOI and switching from narrow to wide. I also use the keyboard for modifiers since I map all hats to one hat control.

I agree, that's why I suggested to move the Input folder somewhere safe and try launching the game again.
-
I usually press and hold the T/O Trim button until it lights up for a few seconds.
-
I'd say the only thing that would put you at some sort of a disadvantage would be not having TrackIR. Having a HOTAS helps but it's not essential and will not give you a noticeable advantage in my eyes.
-
Try looking here "C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config\Input\". If I was you I'd try moving the entire Input folder out of that location and putting it somewhere safe just incase the game doesn't create the new files automatically, which it should. Edit: Sniped :)
