Just wondering if the Pimax 8kx still is an issue with the 3090ti. My G2 no longer works in 90hz mode and gets sparkles even in 60hz mode which still mostly works. I have the original G2 cable so no need for the DP repeater mod. I want to get the 12k if it ever comes out next year so the 8KX seems like a good way to go for now. Not sure of the setup headaches with it though. I already have Steam 2.0 base stations and hopefully dont need the controllers.

Great news that Hollywood is ok. WIsh he would still continue with it. I would pay for updates or more functionality from him. After loosing it for 2 days I realized the value of his work was more than I thought. Hope he is busy and continues playing DCS though.

Yup I was in the discord for a few hours with one of the guys that helped bring it back to life to test things out. Seems like everything besides the custom kneeboard is working so far in the F18 and F16 in SP and MP for me.

I lost more than 10 fps in the MP server I play a lot compared to 2.7 and even lowering shadows to off in cockpit and flat terrain then lowering clouds from standard to low and view distance from ultra to high does nothing to improve it. I then created a new savedgames folder hoping it would clean things up but no joy. I also was running 2x MSAA before and in the MP server got a really constant 40-45with few dips to low 30's. Even turning MSAA off has not helped at all.

I support this request 100%. The in game menu system is old and clunky and needs to be totally revised. It is totally immersion breaking and vaicom made the game far more immersive and fluid with comms. If Hollywood could make vaicom on his own then surely ED can do it and since they have total access to their code they should be able to make something even better.

You cant just delete and not delete all traces of vaicom as well or it will just rewirte that code again. You have to comment it out by putting 2 dash marks in front of the code and saving it. Then go into voiceattack options in the general tab and uncheck allow plugin support. Then after that is done run a quick repair. I did not need to do a slow full repair. Dont those 3 things worked for me.

is commenting out the export lua done by using "--" or \ or /? I have no idea

So what is the best way to get the comms menu to function again aside from a full repair which I have not seen anyone say actually work. Also is there a right way to uninstall vaicom? I tried commenting out the export lua code with "--" and disabling the plugin support in voiceattack but nothing works.

Ya i can use baileys stuff but I cant remember how to disable vaicom so that the comms or F10 menu will come back. i have had vaicom so long I dont remember how it used to work

does anyone know the right way to move all the vaicom files and folder from the saved games folder tot eh root ED scripts and mods/tech directory to see if that will work? i cant just copy paste them as it forces itself back in the saved games directory

yup i had a bad feeling this was going to happen. I cant play DCS without vaicom in VR anymore

Is the Blackbird still for sale and is there any way to ship it to the US? I know it aint cheap. I assume you may have ditched the shipping box it came in.

Dont count on 40 series by October. I just saw the latest news from several sources online that said we may not see 40 series until 2nd quarter 2023 because Nvidia is sitting on a ton of 30 series chips that they cant just toss in the garbage. Their only choice is to sell them before they launch 40 series. This is why they recently reduced the pricing on new 30 series. I picked up my 3090ti Hybrid for $700 less than retail.

This is good news. I use a G2 as well and just got my 3090ti Hybrid. I was able to play well enough on Marianas last night for the first time and hopefully SA is about as good. I may go ahead and buy the map then.I dont use OpenXr though since I had no perf gains with it and the game actually looked a lot worse for me. I tried many different settings in the OpenXR menu with NIS and tried all the different FFR and resolution scaling. I run steamvr again with the reshade and FXAA mod at 85% steam SS and get pretty usable FPS in most situations with MSAA at 2x but turned view distance to medium and terrain textures to low and shadows off.

Hmm I will try that out then since I think it is checked. I have been able to get some commands to work again but it was due to the fact that only one of the radios the AN ARC 182 is the one working now to respond to commands. Used to be both would. I have a feeling that this add on will stop working totally once ED finally upgrades the core engine...well if that ever happens I guess. But AIRIO and ATC will likely die off which is sad since I have come to rely on it and enjoy it over normal VA profile commands. None of the other Vaicom features give me an issue though. Just the AIRIO.

Yup this was a mistake not including it in the free trial. If I and many others could test it and get decent perf then they would sell a lot more. I know more than a dozen avid DCS fliers that are holding off until it is free to try. Plus they would get more feedback and help with bug fixes. More servers would go up as well.

Has this program been abandoned by Hollywood? I have been out of the loop for a while. I have not seen any updates for many months. Mine still works mostly but some issues with AIRIO and certain commands that no longer work.

I want to get this map but I am hoping they will find the issue if it is textures and address it. Looks like a nice map overall.

Your FPS is capped because you are likely running motion reprojection or some equivalent to it with the quest and it is capping to half you refresh rate like normal. I run 90hz in the G2 so 45 is the max

Ya I tried all that even reducing steam SS for my G2 to 50% and it never gets better. I also deleted the saved game folder to start over fresh and did a full game repair. Marianas is not playable for me at all over the islands.

Yup glad I did not knee jerk react and buy this on an impulse. I knew this map would suck for VR just like Marianas which has never been improved for VR. ED and the 3rd party devs dont seem to care about VR at all.

Ya mine is fully updated. I just scrapped it and went back to Steamvr and everything is fine now. Performance is smoother as well.

I didnt follow the videos instructions at all. I did what it said on the first page.
