The taget markers are based on Intelligence. They keep coming even after wingman commits suicide by flying over SAMs.

That's a shame because I'm setting up multimonitor and ultra big screen so I won't have to zoom, but unless you zoom the LOD won't increase... so I'm stuck with zooming :doh:

Whats the most REALISTIC missions/campaigns out there?

MBot makes good missions. For example the chinook escort can result in no enemy contact if the right random setup occurs (the units appear on random triggers so you never know what will happen). In real life, doing an escort not knowing if you have contact is real. Just watching everywhere, and keeping in formation with the chinook. Yeah I considered it too, I did put a touchscreen overlay and went with touchpal/touchbuddy instead. However I'm dissapointed in the touchscreen because: a) The layouts don't match the cockpit, so you don't know where things are. b) Servers now block export.lua, so the touchpal/touchbuddy don't work! So I will probably get the CH MFP, since I already have CH gear, and I can customise the layout. Only problem is finding a place to put it! I have throttle to left of keyboard, joystick to right, and I like my monitor close, up on the keyboard, because I sit back in my chair. Might have to get a stand next to my chair.

High altitude prevents shilka/zsu risk, as well as almost preventing MANPADs and some Strela type launches. When no major cloud cover, I come in at 5000m, launch vikhrs at much greater than normal launch range (because of altitude help), and turn back up into altitude as soon as the hit is seen on the screen. Assume same could be done with A-10 and maverick camera... if you're not using the cannon. But then air defence should be taken out at standoff range and cannon reserved for those poor defenceless leftovers :) -

Series is not to be played all at once, just one per week. I like series, that's why I play more offline campaign than online. Sometimes I wish I had a human wingman instead of my dumb AI buddy when playing campaigns. Today in GOW I had to RTB 3 times to rearm/refuel because my wingman killed himself early on. Yeah i know it's hard work, I'm not asking you to do one just wondering if you were thinking of it :smilewink: Cheers

Cool, I'm up to the 4th mission now (A.06.2) and I must say the first one was the hardest. I kept getting in range of the MANPADs since the cloud level was low I couldn't go above 1600. Also it was stupid but I did try to look for them in the towns and couldn't find them and almost died getting blasted by them. Since then nice high flying with kh-29t + diving vikhr shots followed by shooting back up into the heavens avoiding the AAA. It certainly is a bunch of high adrenaline missions, after destroying a strela a second one launched at me on my escape turn. Even with flares and turned sideways the missile exploded in my nose. Somehow I managed to land and repair. After repair I found I had no more laser! Is this a bug or is it that laser can't be repaired?

Hi Dragon, Multiplayer campaign like dogs of war: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=50724 I know multiplayer doesn't really support linking of missions, but just numbered missions that contain a story and a progressive push/fallback based on mission score. i.e. if you get < 50%, you fall back one mission, more than 50% you go forward. You score can be based upon your own units survival as much as enemy unit destruction. Even without that, a series of missions that go in order is also nice for squads to play each week. Like Sequels Cheers :)

Do you like helos or fixed wing planes? Do you like the idea of fighter pilot or strike/bomber air support pilot?

Bombs, KMGU, and possible improvements to/ erros with DCS:BS

I think ka-50 using bombs is only to be done in a clear from SAMs area. Otherwise why not call in a bomber or a jet. Now with multiplayer we are playing with smoke rockets, we can mark ingress for su-25t to come and drop bombs or use the big warhead missiles. Now that we can kill 12 tanks in 5 minutes, we gotta give the jets something to do :) -
It might be the definition of clobber... I just did a test and he's right. With 16xAF and 2xAA I was getting 50-55 fps. Changed to 16xAF and no AA, and it went to 58-60fps (maxfps) pretty stable there. So that's about a 10-15% difference only 2x AA. I'm upgrading to a 2560 resolution 30" soon, plus a second monitor. With all those pixels I best leave AA off.

Hi All, Re the new georgian oil war for Su-25t that comes with the patch. Is it like the black shark one edited to be for su-25t? Or is it created completely from scratch i.e. totally different? I was playing Revanche and considering switching over to GOW as I like the T better. Cheers

ok so if I put 16x AF it will increase clarity in the distance cool :) I might put 16x AF and 2x AA and see how I go. Don't want too much AA because will be going for a bigger resolution soon, and new monitor will have small dot pitch anyway

Hi, I tried searching for S-80FP2 but it doesn't work, maybe the dash. When I assign the S-80FP2 to hardpoints 10,9,3,2 in su-25t via the mission planner, when I view external view the hardpoints appear empty. However, in the cockpit the weapons do exist. They fire as well. See screenshots.

You prefer vsync off? I didn't think it affected frames just that it would sync them with the monitor?

Do you mean air contacts? I don't think it affects that as they are moving. But ground targets look like terrain

Hi All, I've been trying anti-aliasing via the nvidia control panel. It looks good, but I notice now it is much harder to spot ground targets! They are kind of blurred into the terrain argh. Has anyone else noticed this and decided to just leave AA off so they can still find targets? Cheers

Cool, I'll have to come on again and give it a go. You could give smoke rockets as default loadout for the Ka-50s so that we can mark bunkers etc for the bombers. Ka-50s not so good with bombs, and rockets don't cut it for those hard targets.

Thanks to user lockon071607 on lockonfiles.com, who posted re modman: To make modman work: 01. Save the file called Launcher.exe found in \Black Shark \bin\stable BEFORE applying the patch (or restore from backup). 02. After the patch create the folder called "stable" inside the \Black Shark \bin\. The path will look like this \Black Shark \bin\stable. The bin folder will also contain a the new folder called x86. Ignore the x86 since it belong to the 1.0.2 patch. 03. Copy the file called Launcher.exe that you previously saved into the "stable" folder. 04. Start ModMan. It will ask you for the root directory of Black Shark. Point it to the root directory and once you click OK it should start normally. Since this is a new installation it will create the backup folders again.
